WEEK AND TERM IN ARIAL BLACK FONT 36 WEEK 10B TERM 1
Respect, Honesty and Resilience
Principal’s Report A er all of the huge changes last week, this week has been rela vely
calmer, with all of the students, parents and staff becoming more familiar
with our home delivery model for schooling. Once again, thank you to the
whole school community for your support of and adherence to the major
changes. It is evident that everyone is working relessly to ensure students
healthy wellbeing and con nuity of learning.
In regards to the HSC, NESA has given a press release sta ng:
“At its mee ng today, the NSW Educa on Standards Authority (NESA)
Board confirmed that the Higher School Cer ficate (HSC) is going ahead in 2020, along with a
commitment to providing clear and regular advice to the community about the HSC as the COVID‐19
outbreak con nues.”
The whole release can be found at h ps://educa on.nsw.gov.au/news/latest‐news/2020‐hsc‐is‐
going‐ahead#
Yesterday I got to say hello to the Stage 4 and 5 students who were logged in to an Adobe Connect
mee ng with Miss Horne. It was lovely to see their smiles and I got the chance to say how proud I
am of them all. I also decided to make a video of myself reading a book for K‐2 students. I’m going to
try to do one each day this week and maybe find some other readers around the school to have a
go.
Miss Horne, Mrs Anderson and I met yesterday and with some parent ideas, we came up with some
whole school ac vi es to help raise our spirits. Tomorrow is going to be Crazy Hair Day – so we are
all going to have an awesome hairstyle to share with each other via adobe connect mee ngs. Photos
can be sent to teachers or uploaded onto your dojos or Facebook. Next Thursday on our last day of
term, we thought we would give you all a big selec on of “Minute to Win it” ac vi es. Once again
you can share videos or pictures of yourself par cipa ng in the minute to win ac vi es. We will send
home the ac vi es next Monday for you to prac se before Thursday.
The office and SLSO staff are s ll ringing parents for the IT audit, so that as we move towards next
term, we will have a be er idea of all of your technology needs. As of today we have not been told
what to expect for next term but we are planning that there will s ll be strict social distancing
measures in place, so we will organise least week 1 and 2 next term to be done from home.
I’m looking forward to seeing some great hairdos tomorrow. Take care of yourselves.
