LINDNER FAMILY MEMORIAL GOLF OUTINGAll proceeds support the Lindner Family Scholarship Fund

While finding the silver lining in a tragic situation is not always simple, having a brotherhood to lean on during a time of need can make all the difference. In the summer of 2006, former Buckeye Dan Lindner lost his wife, Angela, his sons, Daniel, 3, and Aidan, 1, as well as Dorothy Meller, his mother-in-law, in a terrible car accident. Understanding that Lindner, a letterwinner at Ohio State from 1985-89, was facing a whirlwind of emotions, the lacrosse program that he had been a part of reached out to provide comfort.

In response, the Buckeye lacrosse program was more than willing to show support for one of their own during his time of need. In May 2007, Ohio State used the team’s discretionary fund to start the Aidan W., Daniel P., and Angela M. Lindner Memorial Athletic Scholarship Fund in loving memory of Lindner’s family. Under the leadership of Buckeye head coach Nick Myers, the Lindner Family Memorial Golf Outing will donate all proceeds to the family’s scholarship fund.

This fund is used to supplement the grant-in-aid scholarship costs of a men’s lacrosse student-athlete who demonstrates integrity and leadership while pursuing an undergraduate degree at Ohio State.

Dear Alumni & Friends,We are thrilled to announce we will back at The Ohio State University Golf Club for the annual ADA Lindner Family Golf Outing. We hope you will make a weekend out of this event and join us for golf on Friday before attending the Buckeye home football game vs. Cincinnati Sept. 7. With space limited, entries this year will be first come, first served as we do expect to sell out the event. This is sure to be an exciting weekend packed with fellowship, golf and Buckeye Football.
