Copies of St. Joseph’s Sunday missals are now available. The cost is $4.00 for each missal.

THIRTY-THIRD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME NOVEMBER 18, 2018

On this weekend before Thanksgiving Day, we mark Youth Recognition Sunday. At the 10 o’clock mass John Murray, Liam McCollum and Lindsay Rosenberger will be recognized for their ongoing contributions to our parish. In an age when so many young people abandon the practice of their faith, we need to celebrate the young people of St. Mary’s who not only still come to Church but also participate in JWalk, our Youth Group program, and work to make St. Mary’s a more vibrant parish. We must also thank Beth Miloscia, our Youth Minister for her dedication to our parish’s young people.

As we approach Thanksgiving Day, I consider all the countless blessing for which I’m grateful. No matter where I start it always comes back to the people in my life. Like most of you, I will a share a feast with my family but I will start the day by celebrating mass with my parish family.

The parish family of St. Mary’s is comprised of so many different groups but we are united when we come together to give praise and thanksgiving to the God who has showered us with so many blessings. That is what Thanksgiving Day is all about. It was started by some of the earliest settlers who came to this country so that they could freely practice their faith. We continue the tradition whereby we humbly acknowledge that all blessings come from the God who loves us and we give thanks that we live in a nation that guarantees us the rite to freely practice our Catholic faith. Fr. Carey

Here are some of the good deeds that the children of St. Mary’s did as a way of showing their love of God and of our parish. We hope that they will always know how important what they do for God and for us truly is. Even though they are still young, they can give us a wonderful example to follow.

“I helped someone.” “I was nice at school.” “I talked with parents about lesson.” “I said my prayers.” “Took care of my dad.

Stewardship Prayer Dear Lord,

O Divine Giver of all gifts, grant us the daily graces we need to follow closely in the footsteps of Jesus in the way we live out our lives and make use of our gifts. Daily, may we renew with You our small part of the world by allowing Your will to be accomplished in and through us. Help us to trust in Your love for us and to grow in our fidelity and relationship with You. We thank You for the trust You place in us as stewards of our personal gifts. May the Holy Spirit guide us in placing our time, talent and treasure at the service of each other so that together we may faithfully witness the Christian message and thus become your holy people.

Amen. ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~
