Family Perspective: In today’s gospel Jesus asked Simon to start by “going a short distance.” later he asked Simon to “go into deeper water.” The first step toward reconciliation is usually a “short distance” which gives us the courage to go further “into deeper water.” Reconciliation starts with the first short step!

St. Helena’s Funeral Reception Committee: This outreach ministry has been very successful, provid-ing a light luncheon for family and friends to gather after a loved ones funeral in the Parish Hall. Many parishioners have volunteered their time and talent
and many others have asked what they can do to help. If you are interested in volunteering, pick up a survey/sign-up form located at the exits of the church. Check whatever way you are able to help out. The Committee will rotate volunteers so no one will be called upon for eve-ry reception. Drop the completed form in the baskets at the exits of the church or send to St. Helena’s Rectory Office. For questions contact Nancy Carroll @ 363-0432 or Joan Eggleston @ 363-5426.
