It is coming to that time of year for….you guessed it~Dr. Suess’s Birthday! What a great time of year. Here is a few facts you may not know- In 1957 Dr Seuss read a magazine article that said kids were having a hard time learning to read because the book they had were so dull. The author finished the article by saying the Dr. Seuss could do a better job of writing more interesting books. He took this challenge very seriously and took 9 months to write The Cat in the Hat. Kids loved it so much that Dr. Seuss kept writing books with simple worlds and funny pictures. Green Eggs and Ham was written because of a bet that he couldn’t write a book using less than 50 words. He did! As always, if you have any questions feel free to contact me at school or through my email. Ms. Mankins, Library Media Specialist/LRT [email protected] Thank you to all of our families who have designated PKL when using their Target REDCard. Today we received a check for $951.45.
