The Centre Square development has created 200,000 sq. ft of premier office space in the centre of Middlesbrough. This will bring in over 700 working people to the town centre. The council are committed to building further office space in the town centre.

Middlesbrough are committed to providing an improved retail & leisure offer for the town centre having secured £36m from the High Street/Town Centre Funds. Plans are currently being prepared to transform part of the towns traditional retail zone into a leisure based scheme creating a thriving day to night economy, to include cinema, dining, bingo, casino, gym, indoor golf, bowling & other competitive socialising uses.
