ECKANKAR is a worldwide religion known to many as an ancient teaching. The ECK, or the Holy Spirit, works on our own behalf to expand our consciousness and help us see God in our everyday lives. Harold Klemp, the Mahanta, the Living ECK Master, is the leader of ECKANKAR.

Accepting Full Responsibilty for Your Life

Here, Harold Klemp offers wisdom on why we face troubles. As he explains, they are blessings. “As you move further along the path to God, you’re going to accept full responsibility for everything that happens in your life. Absolutely everything. You won’t try to blame someone else for it. “You will look deeply into yourself—if you even need to go to the trouble, if you even want to find out the reason instead of just accepting the fact that you are the initial cause for what’s happened to you. “It’s just come back, that’s all. “You can search, but basically it’s your contract with the Holy Spirit. When things happen to you that are very difficult, the Holy Spirit is giving you a chance to go through some turmoil, pain, or setback so that you may grow spiritually. “As you grow spiritually, you will be purified and then move on to a higher state of consciousness.”

Join us for ECK Light and Sound Services, HU Songs, and discussions from books by Harold Klemp, the spiritual leader of ECKANKAR, that focus on spiritual topics and tools that allow Soul to gain greater love, wisdom, and spiritual freedom.

ECK Light and Sound Service

This month, Jean Voice Dart is officiating the ECK Light and Sound Service. We feature creative arts, a panel, and a video excerpt from one of Harold Klemp’s talks. If you feel comfortable, you can chant HU with the group, or just listen. There are fellowship and light refreshments to follow the Service. The host, officiator, and other volunteers can answer any questions you might have, or listen if you would just like to share your experience.

The Sound of Soul Event

When one sings or chants the word HU with love, it is the most beautiful prayer. It connects Soul to Sugmad, or God, as we call it. You may find it uplifting, relaxing, or you might even have some kind of a healing, either physical or spiritual. “The quickest way to put your state of consciousness in the heart of God is to sing HU.” (The Sound of Soul, p. 6) HU, the Sound of Soul, is a love song to God that you can experience personally. You can chant the word with others or silently to yourself. There is no wrong way to do it. You are warmly welcomed to the Sound of Soul event on the first Saturday of the month at 11 a.m. The second Sound of Soul event is on Saturday, May 19, at the Community of Infinite Spirit: 1540 Hicks Avenue, San Jose, CA 95125, also at 11 a.m.

These materials and many others are also for sale.

Bathing in Light

“If you have a problem or desire a healing, try this exercise before falling asleep. “Catch yourself at that point just before you fall asleep—between waking and sleep. Imagine bathing yourself with healing orange light. “You then can ask the Inner Master to help you regain spiritual balance by saying, ‘If it’s for the good of all concerned and doesn’t interfere with my spiritual growth, would you please heal me?’ Then holding that thought, drift into a sound sleep.”

Finding the South Bay ECK Center

We are across Moorpark from Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, just west of Bascom Avenue. There is a small parking lot behind our

building; street parking is available on Moorpark and along the I-280 sound wall on Central Way, just one short block north of the Center;

and Valley Med has a free parking structure across the street.

By Car From the north, drive south on Bascom Avenue, cross over I-280 and

turn right onto Moorpark at the next traffic light.

From the south, drive north on Bascom, drive past Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, then turn left onto Moorpark at the traffic light. Note:

Moorpark Avenue becomes one-way east of Bascom, forcing you toward southbound 280. To drive around San Jose City College and get back to the ECK Center: turn right on Leigh, right on Fruitdale, right on

Bascom, and left on Moorpark.

Eckankar—The Path of Spiritual Freedom

Eckankar teaches that there is an audible life current known as the ECK, or Holy Spirit, that connects each of us with the heart of God. We can experience the ECK as Light and Sound.
