[email protected]: Hi Teresa
TeresaW - T.A.T. Coordinator: Afternoon, Tamie!
[email protected]: I got a question for you.
TeresaW - T.A.T. Coordinator: Okay, what's up?
Angie: aww.. hope this week is better for you Tamie
Angie: hi teresa
[email protected]: what is the difference between directional tatting and fs/bs tatting
RobinBowser joined the chat 20 hours ago
RobinBowser: hello
[email protected]: Hi robin
[email protected]: that one confuses me seriously because they seem to mean the
same to me
TeresaW - T.A.T. Coordinator: Directional tatting is typically creating rings with unflipped
stitches. In a sense, a split chain is direction tatting.
[email protected]: Hi Laurel
RobinBowser: wanted to come into the chatroom but i have a pie I have to keep an eye on in
the oven 🙂
[email protected]: so you don't flip the stitches in directional then correct
[email protected] joined the chat 20 hours ago

[email protected]: mmmmm me likes pie coming to your house soon
RobinBowser: come on over
tigerbutter- laurel: hi Tami hi everyone!!
RobinBowser: hello Laurel and Sue
[email protected]: well if I can get there in back in the time it takes between classes
count me in
[email protected]: Hi Tamie, Angie, Teresa, Robin and Laurel
[email protected]: Hi Sue
RobinBowser: how far are ya from Pittsburgh?? 😉
tigerbutter- laurel: taking a lunch break!
Angie: hi sue.
[email protected]: just a few hundred miles.
TeresaW - T.A.T. Coordinator: Front Side/Back Side creates a piece in which ALL the stitch
crowns (belt) are the same. This will have all the picots "pitched" the same way. Where as
traditional tatting will have the picots on rings usually tilting downward where picots on chains
will tilt upward when viewing the piece from the side.
RobinBowser: add an hour onto that coz I'm north
RobinBowser: lol
[email protected]: ok that makes sense.

TeresaW - T.A.T. Coordinator: I can forward you some pictures on email so that the
difference is apparent in traditional vs FS/BS. I'm not the biggest fan of direct tatting but there
are times it is useful to know.
[email protected]: so my thought process was almost correct
harolahlala: hello lady's
RobinBowser: hello Harolah and Pam
LindaB joined the chat 20 hours ago
LindaB: hi everyone!
RobinBowser: hello Linda
Angie: I need to apologize to you, Sue. During last class, when you were going over my design,
I said I did half stitches. I think you were probably right. Honestly I'm not sure what I did and
haven't had a chance to try again.
[email protected]: yes please. I am studing Jan's theory and it seems he uses
directional tatting in his method but I could be wrong
LindaB: hi Robin! been a while since I seen you in here?
[email protected]: which isn't the first time nor the last for that
Buffy joined the chat 20 hours ago
[email protected]: Hi Linda
[email protected]: Hi Buffy
RobinBowser: hello Buffy
harolahlala: hi buffy
tigerbutter- laurel: welcome back
TeresaW - T.A.T. Coordinator: Jan's Way is in essence almost the same as FS/BS tatting. I
used to call it "technical" tatting before I met any other tatters back in the 1990s.
LindaB: teresaW, harolah
[email protected]: Hi Harolah didn't see you come in
LindaB: anyone else I missed. hugs

Marion: Hi Tamie
LindaB: not suppose to hit here until later this evening or tonight???
Pam - Needle Teacher: yikes i don't for tomorrow how long is the storm suppose to last>
Pam - Needle Teacher: Hey Sue
LindaB: here in northern Virginia I think late morning or afternoon?
[email protected]: Sue will fill in for me for both this class and thursday. She
volunteered to take thursday for me anyway ahead of this because of the last few days I have
had 3 deaths in the family. So I am going to take some time to regroup and do some tatting to
ease my heart
Pam - Needle Teacher: o my gosh so sorry tamie
LindaB: sorry to hear that Tamie...about the deaths in your family.
[email protected]: I will say I am funeralled out that is for sure the past year has been
a rough one and it doesn't seem to be letting up so I need to take some healing time if you all
don't mind. I will be fine and I will get past this it is just alot at once
Buffy: Tamie...So sorry to hear of that. I am in that process..

for the rest of the week.
Buffy: It is a part of life...but sounds like you have been hit hard...
[email protected]: I will be back next monday
tigerbutter- laurel: more snow to come according to weather man sorry
[email protected]: so today's class and the rest of February we are looking at various
technically different heart patterns it is fitting for the month of February
MidgeMarly: I'm so saddened to hear of your losses all at once!!!!!!!!! Any of them covid
related?
Angie joined the chat 19 hours ago
[email protected]: yes Midge sad part is they didn't know they had it until it was too
late
Marion: I rang a friend last week only to find the had passed with a heart attack then to day
later another aquaintance died of cancer then y sil was diagnosed with terminal cancer so that
was a bad week too. I sympathize with you Tamie
MidgeMarly: That's awful!
Angie: oh, tamie. so sorry for your losses. hugs to you and yours
Cyn joined the chat 19 hours ago

RobinBowser: hello to everyone I missed
Marion: Hi Cyn
Buffy: Amen to that, Tamie.
[email protected]: Hi Cyn Glad to see you how is the weather your way.
MidgeMarly: I know of a woman who has lost 35!! members of her family to covid!
Buffy: Ok...RobinB.. what kind of pie?
[email protected]: so we got a couple really pretty hearts for you all today
RobinBowser: cherry 😄
Pam - Needle Teacher: omg Midge that is awful
[email protected]: robin has told me I could come and now that I know it is cherry
you can't go with me Buffy. LOL
Buffy: My favorite... save some for me...heee heee
RobinBowser: lol
MidgeMarly: I know, I was in tears to say the least!
Buffy: Oh... we will have to tug o war over that!!...
Cyn: Tamie I
[email protected]: sounds like fun Robin you in on that. lol
Marion: OMword Midge how awful for that lady
Buffy: I think, Tamie, is closer than me ... maybe... so I'm outta luck.
Carol Best: I have a friend who refuses to acknowledge how serious COVID is. She is balking
at our orders to stay at home and stay safe.
Pam - Needle Teacher: i am closer than Tamie but my choice is apple
MidgeMarly: Agree Marion!
Cyn: Tamie I'm so sorry for the losses you have recently had to deal with. It is sooo hard to lose
people. Holding you in the Light while you get thru this.
[email protected]: Midge I am sorry to hear that it is awful seriously this year is not a
good year starting out but we have alot to look forward to and many changes coming to make
things better

Mjb: Tamie Dorcas is still asking to help her get into class I have done everything I know how.,
but she still can't get in., what should I do?
[email protected]: posicle I am not
[email protected]: what is she having trouble with
Mjb: Hi Carol
Pam - Needle Teacher: has she logged in to yahoo
MidgeMarly: Any time I hear of an ice storm I get shivers as I recall the BIG Ice Storm up
here in Canada!
Angie: below zero windchills here and snow
Cyn: The ice here is light but the roads are very bad. The slight uphill has had cars coming
down it sideways! I hope it does not rain...
Mjb: I don't think so
Cyn: wind chills in the teens here.
Pam - Needle Teacher: that might be the issue
LindaB: I'm staying in unless I have to go out. hate nasty stuff when you have things you need
to do.
Mjb: she used to come when Georgia was a teacher

[email protected]: YOU JUST HAVE TO LOOK AT YOUR PATTERN TO SEE IT.
BUT WHEN THEY ARE CREATED AS A HEART THEY CAN BE EASY AND SIMPLE
TO MAKE BUT THE LOOK SEEMS COMPLEX AND DIFFICULT
Winkerbill: hi everyone!
Rachelle entered for the first time 19 hours ago
Winkerbill: StephanieW in western North Carolina USA
Marion: k
Cyn: Is there a pattern that I missed finding?
[email protected]: SO LET'S START WITH THIS PATTERN IT IS A JAN
STAWASZ PATTERN THAT HE DID FOR HOMEAGE TO MARY KONIOR
[email protected]: http://www.georgiaseitz.com/reviews/jans...
[email protected]: NO CYN THEY ARE A SURPRISE.
RobinBowser: that's so pretty!!
Buffy: These should be fun surprises!
Winkerbill: That's a pretty one. I have the book that it's in.
Cyn: good I thought it was hiding on me... That is a beautiful pattern
[email protected]: THIS PATTERN LOOKS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO THE
NAKED EYE AND BECAUSE IT IS ONE OF JANS EVERYONE SAYS OH I CAN'T TAT
HIS PATTERNS
MaryM: I’ve made that one a couple of times, very beautiful.
[email protected]: BUT THE TRUTH IS
Marion: That Is really pretty
[email protected]: YES YOU CAN
Denise joined the chat 19 hours ago
[email protected]: HE HAS HIS METHOD IN ALL HIS BOOK IN RED
NUMBERING
[email protected]: THEN THE BLUE IS TRADITIONAL TATTING
[email protected]: WHICH IS THERE IS NO DEFINATIVE SIDE BEING THE
FRONT OF THE TATTING
[email protected]: IT IS HOW THEY TATTED BACK IN THE DAY
Motatter joined the chat 19 hours ago
Winkerbill: and the black is where it's the same either way, if I remember correctly
[email protected]: THE LAST IS A COMBINATION OF BOTH
[email protected]: YES STEPH YOUR CORRECT.
[email protected]: NOW EXACTLY WHAT DOES THAT MEAN
LindaB: hi Jeremy
[email protected]: THAT IS WHERE EVERYONE GETS SO OVERWHELMED
Carol Best: A friend (experienced tatter) said his method is just front side back side in reverse
[email protected]: IT IS ALL WORDS FOLKS
[email protected]: YES IT IS BUT HIS METHOD IS DONE IN A UNIQUE
MANNER
[email protected]: HAS ANYONE SEEN THE ACTUAL VIDEO THAT HE MADE
SHOWING HOW HE TATS
Pam - Needle Teacher: n
Marion: k
Carol Best: Didn't even know there was a video
tatting_courseVimeo · 41:38 · 9 years
ago · 24KThis is a tatting course by Jan Stawasz. This video is to be embedded on his web site:
www.frywolitka.slupsk.pl.
RobinBowser: no
harolahlala: i think i stumbled on it once
MaryM: Didn’t know a video existed.
[email protected]: THIS IS JAN TATTING
Winkerbill: Wow, didn't know he did a video on it.
Carol Best: Even though he is dead is one able to go to his website?
MidgeMarly: yes!
[email protected]: IT IS NOW ON VIMEO WHICH IS FREE BUT ALL OF YOU
SHOULD WATCH HIS WORK IN ACTION HE IS MAGNIFICIENT
[email protected]: YES BUT ALL THE LINKS DO NOT WORK ANYMORE IT IS
SLOWLY FALLING OFF TO THE WAY BACK MACHINE BECAUSE NO ONE IS
MAINTAINING IT ANYMORE.
Marion: thats sad
[email protected]: SO LETS GET INTO THAT COMMON TO BOTH ALONG
WITH HIS SPECIAL TRICK HE DOES
[email protected]: ALL OF HIS PICOTS BEGIN WITH THE FIRST HALF OF THE
DOUBLE STITCH
[email protected]: THEN THE PICOT IS PUT INTO PLACE
harolahlala: Harolah Cheser Ky USA shuttle
[email protected]: THEN THE SECOND HALF OF THE DOUBLE STITCH IS
PUT IN
Mjb joined the chat 19 hours ago
MidgeMarly: is that all that he does that is unique?
Mjb: hello agaim got kicked off bad girl
[email protected]: SO HE PUTS A LITTLE DOT ON HIS PATTERNS TO
REFERENCE THAT HALF STITCH AND IT WILL MAKE THE RINGS LOOK LIKE
THEY ARE BACKWARDS BECAUSE OF THE PICOTS
[email protected]: SORRY MARY JANE SENDING VELCRO
Carol Best: His picots are in the middle of the stitch instead of between stitches
Motatter: Jeremy Earnest Springfield Mo usa shuttle needle and crotat sorry forgot to sign in
Mjb: need it
Cyn: k
[email protected]: WHEN HE DOES HIS CHAINS HE DOES THEM IN RODS
TeresaW - T.A.T. Coordinator: Essentially, Jan's Method is very similar to Front Side / Back
Side tatting.
Marion: k
[email protected]: SO BASICALLY THE RINGS ARE TATTED ON THE
BACKSIDE AND WHEN YOU TURN IT OVER THE PICOTS LOOK LIKE WHAT WE
TAT NORMALLY THE WAIST BAND AND 2 PANT LEGS
MidgeMarly: He was from Poland?
Mjb: hi HAROLAH
[email protected]: THEN WHEN WE TAT THE CHAIN IN RODS IT MAKES
EVERYTHING BECOME FRONT SIDE BACK SIDE TATTING
Winkerbill: Yes Midge, he was
[email protected]: YES HE WAS
harolahlala: hi MJB
[email protected]: HOWEVER IF YOU LOOK AT HIS RINGS FROM THE
FRONTSIDE THE COUNT IS THE SAME AS THE RINGS IN THE BLUE COLORED
NUMBERS
MidgeMarly: That sound like a SIMPLE solution to fs/bs tatting! Just change how you do your
chains!
harolahlala: k
[email protected]: SO IF YOU TAT HIS PATTERNS USING THE BLUE
NUMBERS AND THE BLACK NUMBERS AND DO THE FS/BS TATTING ON THE
CHAINS IT WILL LAY AS IT SHOULD
[email protected]: THAT IS THE REASON HIS THEORY IS CALLED
FRONTSIDE TATTING
Marion: k
[email protected]: BECAUSE EVERYTHING HE TATS IS TATTED ON THE
FRONT. DOES THAT MAKE SENSE
MaryM: K
TeresaW - T.A.T. Coordinator: FS/BS has all of the stitches on the front side of the work
with full double stitches. The crown of the stitch is whole on the front side. In FS/BS tatting the
back side will be smoother to the touch while the front side has more texture.
[email protected]: THANK YOU TERESA FOR CLARIFYING THAT
[email protected]: EVERYTHING I MAKE IS FS/BS
tigerbutter- laurel: there is no reversing
Marion: Does that mean that FS/BS tatting you don't reverse work or turn work
[email protected]: YES YOU WILL REVERSE BUT THE TATTING ON THE
RINGS IS REVERSED
Winkerbill: Thanks Teresa. Great way to explain it. I tatted FS/BS for a year or so before I
realized the two sides were easy to tell apart by how they looked, but never could describe it in
words.
Mjb: I never use fs/bs
Marion: Ah ok ty Tamie
[email protected]: IF YOU WATCH HIM HE ACTUALLY FLIPS HIS WORK UP
AND DOWN AND IT PUTS THE TOP ON THE BOTTOM AND BOTTOM ON TOP JUST
LIKE WE REVERSE OUR WORK
María Alcántara joined the chat 19 hours ago
TeresaW - T.A.T. Coordinator: You do reverse work but you will reverse the order of the
double stitch. Think of a double stitch as two parts, a "d" and an "s." On the front side, a double
stitch will be repetitions of dsdsdsds. On the back side, you would use RODS ... sdsdsdsds
María Alcántara: Hello
[email protected]: WHAT I MEAN BY THE TATTING IS REVERSED IS THE
WAISTBAND OF THE PANTS IS MISSING AND WHEN YOU TURN IT OVER YOU SEE
IT IS A COMPLETED STITCH
[email protected]: HI MARIA
Marion: ok good
[email protected]: SO DOES EVERYONE UNDERSTAND HIS METHOD OF
TATTING NOW
Mjb: yes
MaryM: Yes
[email protected]: HE ADDS THAT EXTRA STITCH AND DOES NOT COUNT
IT IN HIS COUNT
harolahlala: yes
RobinBowser: ok
Carol Best: k
Marion: Yes I think the halfpenny is dropping slowly lol
Lyndi: Yes
[email protected]: WHEN HE JOINS HE PUTS IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE
STITCH AFTER THE PICOT AND THEN STARTS HIS COUNT
TeresaW - T.A.T. Coordinator: The "extra" is actually a half of a double stitch not a whole
one.
[email protected]: CORRECT TERESA
tigerbutter- laurel: does he end on a half stitch
[email protected]: SO HOW MANY AH HA MOMENTS DID WE JUST HAVE
[email protected]: YES HE DOES
Marion: I did hope I can now remember it lol
TeresaW - T.A.T. Coordinator: Marion, I find it simpler just to remember that if I am on the
'back' side of a piece I use RODS.
Marion: ah ok ty
[email protected]: SO HIS PATTERNS AREN'T DIFFICULT TO MASTER BUT
YOUR TENSION IN HIS PATTERNS MUST BE CONSISTENT
[email protected]: HIS JOINING PICOTS ARE BASICALLY A VERY VERY
SMALL PICOT
harolahlala: k
Mjb: k
RobinBowser: k
MaryM: K
Carol Best: Are there to be colours in the tatting diagram for us to see what they look like
when he adds the extra elements?
[email protected]: IF YOU LOOK AT THE FINISHED PHOTO IT SHOWS NO
GAP IN WHERE IT JOINS AND HE ALSO USES REVERSE RIEGO METHOD OF
TATTING AND THAT IS BASICALLY HOW YOU HOLD YOUR THREAD
[email protected]: YES HIS ARE COLOR CODED FOR THAT PURPOSE SO
ANYONE CAN TAT HIS PATTERNS
[email protected]: IF THERE IS A GAP SHOWING IT IS A SIZED PICOT AND IT
IS MEANT TO SHOW
Buffy: I like color coding..I used that in school teaching all the time!
[email protected]: SO DON'T BE AFRAID TO TRY ANY OF HIS PATTERNS
THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL
Carol Best: I must be missing something...my pattern is just black and white.
[email protected]: THIS HEART IS ABOUT IN SIZE 20 THREAD A 2 MAYBE 2
AND A HALF INCH HEART
Marion: mine is only B&W also
LindaB: is this heart truely his pattern or is it just tatted his way?
[email protected]: THE PATTERN I SHARED IS BLACK AND WHITE BUT THE
CHAINS IS A DARK RED COLOR. WHY THAT IS I DON'T KNOW YOU HAVE TO
LOOK CLOSE AT IT. THE PRINTOUT SHOULD HAVE THE CHAIN NUMBERS IN RED
Mjb: mine too
[email protected]: IT IS TRUELY HIS PATTERN
tigerbutter- laurel: it does just small
LindaB: ok'
Winkerbill: the patterns in his books are awfully small, too.
[email protected]: THIS IS OFF GEORGIA SITE. I CANNOT SHARE WHAT IS
IN A BOOK WITHOUT GETTING WRITTEN PERMISSION FROM THE DESIGNER AND
HE DONATED THIS PATTERN TO THE CLASSES
ninetta joined the chat 19 hours ago
TeresaW - T.A.T. Coordinator: If you have a smart phone, take a picture of the pattern and
then enlarge it.
Winkerbill: To tat them, i usually have to make a scan of the page, then blow it up HUGE just
to see the numbers.
ninetta: hello sorry I'm late
[email protected]: HI NINETTA
LindaB: there is some red markings on it, but a bit faint.
Winkerbill: I can't see it otherwise, even with reading glasses AND a strong magnifier!
Mjb: Hi Ninetta
Winkerbill: 😉
Winkerbill: hi Ninetta....and everyone else I didn't see come in earlier.
[email protected]: I KNOW BUT WE CAN'T FIX THAT ON OUR END. WE
VIOLATE THE COPYWRITE PERMISSIONS IF WE DO
harolahlala: hi ninetta
Carol Best: Hi Ninetta
Marion: ah I have just zoomed in on the pattern and the numbers on the chains are in Red
Winkerbill: I would have been happy to pay extra for larger print, larger pages, and larger
diagrams/numbers, but both his books are tiny like that. So instead I buy stronger
magnifiers. 🙂
[email protected]: BUT GEORGIA DID SET UP THE PATTERN WITH JANS
PERMISSION TO ONLY USE THE COLORS WE WOULD USE IN CLASS AND THAT IS
THE BLACK AND BLUE COLORS AND THE BLUE DIDN'T COME OUT SO IT WAS
DONE IN THE RED
[email protected]: THE BLUE WAS OMITTED FROM OUR COPY
[email protected]: AND CHANGED TO THE RED
Winkerbill: hmmm....brb....now i'm curious. Going to go look at my book.
Mjb: Hi Dorcas I see your name
Marion: So the Red numbers are FS/BS
[email protected]: WELCOME DORCAS GLAD YOU MADE IT
[email protected]: YES MARION
Marion: ty
[email protected]: SO IS EVERYONE FAMILIAR WITH JANS PATTERN
ENOUGH TO MOVE ON TO PATTERN 2
Buffy: Yes
Carol Best: yes
RobinBowser: ok
Cyn: I had to enlarge it big...bigger than the screen to get the colors to change...
[email protected]: LET ME SAY THIS HE NEVER COPIED OR REPEATED A
PATTERN HE CREATED
Marion: yes nervously lol
Mjb: yes I have 2 of his books. neat patterns
harolahlala: yes
[email protected]: HIS CREATIONS ARE ONE OF A KIND
Cyn: and beautiful and fun to do once you get the hang of how he does them.
[email protected]: SO LETS MOVE ON TO THE NEXT PATTERN FOR TODAY
Buffy: Seems like I have almost every other tatting book in the world, but I do not have any of
his.
LindaB: k
Marion: me either Buffy😒
Winkerbill: The red numbers are in the same place. It's just the blue that was changed to black.
[email protected]: THIS ONE IS A 2 PAGE PATTERN CREATED BY SUE
FULLER. IT IS HER HEARTS DESIRE PATTERN
Winkerbill: Buffy, I think he wrote 2 books. They *might* still be available, not sure about
that.
Carol Best: I really like his patterns....have made some jewelry from his book
[email protected]: I HAVE TO SAY THIS ONE LOOKS SO TECHNICALLY
CHALLENGING FROM THE PHOTO RIGHT
harolahlala: so pretty sue
[email protected]: THANK YOU
LindaB: one of my favorite hearts. so delicate.
[email protected]: YES TRY HANDY HANDS OR LISA AT TATTING CORNER
FOR YOUR BOOKS
Winkerbill: I have one of them sitting out near my chair....keep thinking I'm going to make the
tie on page 48 for myself, just have not got around to it yet....
[email protected]: I HAVE TATTED THIS HEART A DOZEN TIMES AT LEAST I
LOVE IT BUT I AM GOING TO GIVE SUE THE FLOOR SO SHE CAN TELL YOU A BIT
ABOUT THIS PATTERN
María Alcántara joined the chat 19 hours ago
Buffy: ty, Winderbill... I will check them out!! Possibly out of print.
[email protected]: NOT YET BUFFY BUT GET THEM WHILE YOU CAN
Mjb: I got my books at IOLI conventions
Buffy: Handy Hands is my go to place. Nothing else out in the Land of Oz.
[email protected]: THE INTERESTING THING, FROM A DESIGN
STANDPOINT IS: I D0 LIKE AND WANTED THE VERY CENTER NEGATIVE SPACE &
ALWAYS THOUGHT IT COULD BE USED TO HANG A CHARM IN IT.
Buffy: That I have found, that compares to HHT
Carol Best: Beautiful heart Sue.
ninetta: .
Winkerbill: Oh, wow, it never quite connected in my mind....this is "OUR" Sue who designed
this heart. It is one of my very favorite patterns, Sue
[email protected]: AND I ALWAYS THOUGHT I SHOULD CHANGE THOSE
“COULD LOOK WONKY” CHAINS THAT HELP FORM THAT SPACE.
TeresaW - T.A.T. Coordinator: Both books are available. Titles: Tatted Treasures; Tatting
Theory and Patterns.
Buffy: What an idea...sktattingdesigner and I happen to have one of those laying right here in
my music room... gonna go get it!.
Carol Best: Sue my pattern is only one page. Is that correct?
Buffy: Tatted Terasures sounds familiar... better go looking after class!
[email protected]: I THINK ONE OF THE MAIN ISSUES IS GETTING THE
CHAIN CONSISTENCY ON THE LONG NO DECO - PICOTS CHAINS IN THE CENTER
BOTTOM.
LindaB: Buffy - Tatting corner has two of Jan's
books. https://tattingcorner.com/index.php?main...
CAROL THE LINKS ARE HERE PAGE ONE
PAGE TWO
[email protected]: THANKS
[email protected]: A TOO LOOSE TENSION CAN MAKE THEM LOOK
WONKY/FLOPPY AND EVEN MINE IN THE PHOTO SAMPLE DOES NOT HAVE
GREAT TENSIONING ON IT - I DO NEED TO TAT A NEW ONE FOR THE BOOK.
[email protected] TENSIONING ON IT - I DO NEED TO TAT A NEW ONE FOR THE BOOK.
IF YOU’VE TATTED IT BEFORE, DO YOU REMEMBER PROBLEMS YOU HAD WITH
IT?
[email protected]: OOPS
[email protected]: LOL
[email protected]: OTHER THAN TENSION
[email protected]: I HAD A HARD TIME WITH THE JOINS IN IT I WASN'T
SURE THAT THEY WERE SMALL JOINING PICOTS OR LARGER BUT ONCE I GOT
THAT FIGURED OUT I WAS WELL ON MY WAY.
LindaB: I'm a lefty, I had a problem in figuring our the direction of stitches...but that was a few
years ago.
[email protected]: THE BOOK ITSELF DOES HAVE A LIST OF ALL
ABBREVIATIONS THAT ARE USED IN THE PATTERN.
Buffy: Thanks for the book link, LindaB
LindaB: yw
Carol Best: what is the name of your book?
Winkerbill: LInda I don't worry about what direction it will be as long as the pattern is
symmetrical. It's only when something HAS to face a certain direction that I have to work out
how to get it to face THAT particular way.
[email protected]: WE NEED A REPRINT ON THAT BOOK THE PATTERNS IN
IT ARE FASCINATING
LindaB: thanks Steph
Winkerbill: I'm not a lefty, I'm just dyslexic....sometimes my things come out backwards,
sometimes they face the same way as in the book.
ninetta: I love your heart pattern, Sue
[email protected]: THEN MAYBE MY NEW DIAGRAM WILL HELP WITH
THAT LINDA WHEN IT'S KPROOFED AND READY
tigerbutter- laurel: the jan stawasz? handy hands has too
[email protected]: YES LAUREL
TeresaW - T.A.T. Coordinator: Yes, Handy Hands has it.
LindaB: I should try it again, before you do that.
Winkerbill: Stawasz was one of those people who really used negative space well.
Buffy: I might have Tatted Treasures...
[email protected]: YES STEPH AND THAT IS WHY THEY ARE SO PLEASING
TO THE EYE
tree: sue do you have the diagram for your heart
RobinBowser: brb
LindaB: ok. looking forward to see this book you're talking about - Sue. 🙂
Winkerbill: and so inspiring for the rest of us.
[email protected]: SO A BIT OF A SURPRISE PREVIEW OF
IT: https://www.georgiaseitz.com/design/imag...
LindaB: yes, it is inspiring!
[email protected]: BEAUTIFUL SUE ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL
tigerbutter- laurel: thank you!!! http://www.georgiaseitz.com/reviews/full...
ninetta: I have Tatting Theory
Cyn: Looking good...
LindaB: love the diagram!!!
[email protected]: TREE HER HEART IS IN THAT PREVIEW
[email protected]: AND THE LAST PAGE IS THE HEART
ninetta: there are beautiful doilies
Rachelle joined the chat 19 hours ago
Marion: k
[email protected]: (NOT PROOFED AND STILL IN PROGRESS) THIS IS
WHAT I WILL BE DOING THIS SUMMER.
ninetta: wow Sue, thank you!
Rachelle: Thank you for the wonderful sneak peek Sue!
[email protected]: I ALWAYS THOUGHT TO MAKE SEVERAL OF THOSE
HEARTS AND CONNECT THEM TOGETHER TO CREAT A SMALL DOILY BUT
NEVER GOT AROUND TO IT
Carol Best joined the chat 19 hours ago
Buffy: Sue...very pretty... will have to give it a try!
[email protected]: I THINK SOME DID SOMETHING LIKE THAT BUT
DON'T HAVE A LINK RIGHT NOW
[email protected]: HOWEVER THIS HEART EVEN THOUGH IT LOOKS HARD
IT REALLY ISN'T
Verna May joined the chat 19 hours ago
[email protected]: SO YOU BEGIN WITH THE R1 IN THE CENTER OF THE
TOP RIGHT
tree: thanks
[email protected]: NO FANCY STITCH WORK AND NO FANCY JOINS IT IS
ALL JUST BASIC TATTING TECHNIQUES SO SEE YOUR EYES CAN DECIEVE YOU
WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE PICTURES
Carol Best: the picots appear to be specific lengths to fill the negative space. How do we
measure?
tigerbutter- laurel: love it!
[email protected]: WELL I PREACH PICOT GAUGES
LindaB left the chat 18 hours ago
[email protected]: HANDY HANDS HAS THEM AS WELL THEY ARE USEFUL
FOR THE TATTER IN A SITUATION LIKE THIS
Carol Best: I use gauges but is the picot equivalent to a certain number of stitches?
[email protected]: SUE CAN YOU ANSWER THAT.
[email protected]: i SHOULD HAVE ADDED THE KEY PAGE TOO HERE:
ONE DASH = ABOUT 1/4 INCH SPACE TO - 1/8' FINISHED PICOT
Carol Best: I have the gauges made by Georgia's husband.
[email protected]: I USE WHAT I CAN GET MY HANDS ON AT THE TIME. IF I
NEED PRECISION
tree: you can make your own gauges a great project
[email protected]: THOSE I BELIEVE ARE THE MOST PRECISE ONES
AROUND CAROL.
[email protected]: RICHARD TOOK TIME TO MAKE SURE THEY WERE THE
RIGHT MEASUREMENTS
[email protected]: 2 DASHES IS -- NOW I HAVE MY MEMORY - BUT
THEY ARE A BIT BIGGER
LindaB joined the chat 18 hours ago
tigerbutter- laurel: plastic gift cards cut to size you like work in a pinch and you do not feel
bad if you lose
tree: and smooth too
[email protected]: A MED SIZE
Buffy: I make my own out of junk cc that come in the mail. I am always losing them and so
more economical for me..
ninetta: .
Buffy: That's me tigerbutter... always losing them. Just had to make one the other day.
Cyn: Me too Buffy
tigerbutter- laurel: hi ninetta
[email protected]: AND 3 DASHES --- ARE LARGE PICOTS A BIT BIGGER
STILL
ninetta: hi!
Marion: k
tree: they are in a safe spot
[email protected]: USUALLY PICOTS LARGER THAN THAT IN PATTERNS
USUALLY HAVE THE SIZES GIVEN IN THE PARTICULAR PATTERN YOU ARE
USING
tigerbutter- laurel: lol mine too when i find them
[email protected]: THE STEP PICOT GAUGE THAT HANDY HANDS HAS
WOULD WORK FOR PATTERNS THAT CALL FOR GRADUATED PICOTS YOU
COULD STEP UP A LEVEL AND KEEP THE PICOTS AS THEY ARE MEANT TO BE
[email protected]: AND A VERY SMALL JOINING PICOT IS USUALLY
DESIGNATED BUT THE ABBREVIATION vsp
Marion: I have that picot guage but haven't got the hang of it properly yet
tigerbutter- laurel: and at hobby lobby for those who want a quick gauge -
Buffy: Ha ha... I figured that one out last night. It took a while and then I (oops actually looked
at the key at the beginning of the instructions.)

[email protected]: SO AFTER THE 1ST R YOU WILL BE SPIRALLING
AROUND - SLOWLY ROTATTING YOU WORK WITH RINGS AND CHAINS
[email protected]: THERE YOU GO MARION
[email protected]: AND MAKING JOINS TO THE VERY FIRST CHAIN
Marion: ty Tamie
[email protected]: THEN KEEP GOING ON DOWN TO THE BOTTOM R10
[email protected]: THEN YOU BEGIN BACK UP THE LEFT SIDE
ninetta: lol ro-tatting fits perfectly
[email protected]: QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS YET?
[email protected]: LOL NINETTA
[email protected]: NONE AS OF YET SUE
LindaB: don't think so. love the diagrams Sue! I'm a diagram type of tatter. very helpful!
Mjb: K
Marion: Which ring is ring 1 please
harolahlala: k
ninetta: when I tatted the heart, my difficult was tensioning the last chain while tatting the last
ring
tigerbutter- laurel joined the chat 18 hours ago
tigerbutter- laurel: velcro
[email protected]: SUE IN THE DIAGRAM I DO THINK YOU NEED TO MARK
THE STARTING RING WITH A OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT SO THEY KNOW HOW
THE PATTERN GOES
[email protected]: THAT LONG CHAIN CAN GET WONKY IF YOU DON'T
KEEP YOUR TENSION EVEN THROUGHOUT
[email protected]: LOOK ON THE 1ST DIAGRAM IT HAS THE BEGINNING
R1 MARKED WITH A GREEN S FOR START AND A GREEN ARROW POINTED TO
THE R1
[email protected]: I OVER TENSIONED WHEN I DID IT AND THEN AS I
WORKED THE TENSION HAD ROOM TO LOOSEN UP A BIT AS THE TATTING
PROGRESSED
[email protected]: THEN A GREEN ARROW TO SHOW THE DIRECTION
OF THE 1ST CHAIN
[email protected]: ARE YOU ALL SEEING THAT?
Marion: Is it the one towards the middle at the RH side
[email protected]: THE OLDER PATTERN DIDN'T HAVE THAT ON IT THAT
WHAT IS CONFUSING I SUPPOSE
Mjb: NO
LindaB: yes, I see it Sue!
[email protected]: YES
ninetta: yes Sue
[email protected]: THE PREVIEW SUE SHARED HAS IT MARKED EVERYONE
Buffy: ty
[email protected]: YES, THAT'S WHY I STOPPED REPRINTING IT AND

Angie: I swear we get an advisory, watch or something every other day. lol
GinaS: hello
Angie: hi gina
GinaS: it's like that here in the summer angie
GinaS: every other day there's some kind of watch or warning
GinaS: hurricane season dontcha know
Angie: that's a bummer, tamie.
[email protected]: we do too. I like when the weather is cold and snow falling the
tornado sirens goes off. I am like what are we getting snowados
Angie: yikes, gina
[email protected]: small towns have strict rules with apartments Angie
carol: Hate the winds in the hurricane sounds like a train is coming
GinaS: our wiring won't handle space heaters
[email protected]: what is weird is here no space heaters but can burn candles.
however our last apt was no candles and you could use space heaters
[email protected]: Hi Susan
GinaS: it does, carol, and I hate that weird green/yellow color the sky turns before a tropical
storm
[email protected]: Hi Maria
carol: I don’t trust candles
Angie: i'd take a snownado over a sharknado, tamie
Angie: hahaha
[email protected]: i have seen skies like that gina and they are worrysome to say the
least
GinaS: heck, we can't even run the microwave and the toaster at the same time
Angie: oh no, gina. old wiring at it's finest
[email protected]: i think our weather men here have been drinking the juice
Laurel: Are you a native

Laurel: Lol
Susan F: Good evening everyone
[email protected]: I think the older homes Gina with the slat walls with wallboard on
top have better insulation than the new homes today
GinaS: I have a few pair of fingerless gloves I'm knitting... we don't exactly get winter, but I
think I'm becoming more sensitive to cold the older I get
GinaS: hi all the people coming in :)
[email protected]: shhh we aren't old Gina don't tell anyone that we are just vintage
models
Jenella: I love the fingerless gloves

Pam - Needle Teacher: Hi Tamie
Angie: funny story about that tamie. We had an older home once, and we took one of the walls
down to the studs, removing all the latt & plaster. The insulation had settled or was blown in
improperly, and there was only about 2 feet of insulation at the bottom... wide open every
where else!
stitchingsharon: Hello tatters!!

ChristineAS: Has anyone tatted Harolah's superbowl sunday snowflake? I worked on it awhile
yesterday, after classs.
GinaS: it was nice to get away from the heat

Laurel: Oh my how did you guys learn you are amazing
[email protected]: THE FIRST PATTERN IS
HERE http://www.georgiaseitz.com/reviews/jans...
tree: thank you Tami
Fred.: Carol so glad to meet you do you tat left handed or right handed.
[email protected]: JAN STAWASZ WAS A MAGNIFICIENT MAN IN HIS OWN
RIGHT. HIS TATTING IS IMPECCABLE.
[email protected]: HOWEVER MOST EVERYONE HAS DIFFICULTIES
WORKING HIS PATTERNS
carol: Learn right hand then change to left
[email protected]: HE HAS HIS OWN METHOD AND ONCE IT IS
UNDERSTOOD THEN YOU WILL SEE HOW HIS METHOD IS REALLY SIMPLE TO
USE
[email protected]: FIRST OF ALL HE DOES HIS PICOTS DIFFERENT THAN
MOST
[email protected]: THE PICOT IS BETWEEN 2 HALF STITCHES.
[email protected]: SO LETS LOOK AT THE PATTERN A MOMENT
Pam - Needle Teacher: do you have to do it according to his method
[email protected]: NO YOU DON'T HE HAS ALL METHODS AVAILABLE TO
USE BUT EACH METHOD IS LABELLED AS SUCH
Cyn: from his book no but give it a try....
[email protected]: THE RED NUMBERS ARE HIS METHOD
[email protected]: THE BLUE NUMBERS ARE TRADITIONAL
[email protected]: AND THE BLACK NUMBERS ARE A COMBINATION OF
BOTH
[email protected]: NOW HERE IN THE STATES WE WOULD USE THE BLUE
AND BLACK NUMBERS FOR HIS PATTERNS
Victoria E joined the chat 14 hours ago
[email protected]: TRADITIONAL TATTING IS NO DEFINATIVE FRONT OR
BACK SIDE TO THE TATTING.
Dyannah: the pattern has only black numbers - no red or blue
Angie: could you give an area where blue #s are? I'm not seeing them and I have it enlarged as
big as it will go
Cyn: enlarge the pattern and they show up
[email protected]: THIS PATTERN LOOKS LIKE THERE ARE ONLY BLACK
NUMBERS BUT THE CHAINS ARE ACTUALLY DONE IN RED BECAUSE THE LIGHT
BLUE DOESN'T SHOW WELL IN PRINTOUTS
Victoria E: Victoria E NJ shuttle
[email protected]: NOW LETS LOOK AT THE RING ON THIS PATTERN IT
LOOKS LIKE A NORMAL RING RIGHT
Angie: ok, thx
[email protected]: BELIEVE IT OR NOT THIS RING WAS TATTED ON THE
BACKSIDE
[email protected]: THE PICOT IS THE CHANGE FOR HIS METHOD
[email protected]: HE ADDS THE FIRST HALF STITCH BEFORE THE PICOT
THEN PLACES THE PICOT THEN THE SECOND HALF STITCH ON THE BACKSIDE
[email protected]: IT WILL REFLECT TO BE A PICOT THAT DOESN'T HAVE
THE WAISTBAND OF THE PANTS AT THE TOP ON THE SIDE YOUR WORKING ON
[email protected]: ON THE OTHER SIDE THE DOUBLE STITCHES ARE
COMPLETE AND THE WAISTBAND ON THE PANTS IS THERE.
[email protected]: OR CAP OF THE DOUBLE STITCH HOWEVER YOU WANT
TO CALL IT THEY ALL MEAN THE SAME
[email protected]: SO THEN HE REVERSES HIS WORK AND THE CHAINS
ARE DONE STARTING WITH A HALF STITCH THEN THE FULL DOUBLE STITCH
FOR THE COUNT HE GIVES THEN THE SECOND HALF STITCH.
[email protected]: THE HALF STITCHES DO NOT COUNT IN HIS COUNTS
[email protected]: SO THEREFORE THE EXTRA STITCH EVERYONE TALKS
ABOUT IS PREVAILENT ON THE FRONTSIDE OF THE WORK AND USING HIS
METHOD GIVES YOU A DEFINITE FRONT SIDE AND DEFINITE BACK SIDE
[email protected]: YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE GIVES YOU THAT SAME EFFECT
nlibin joined the chat 14 hours ago
[email protected]: WELCOME NINA
nlibin: evening everyone
[email protected]: FRONTSIDE BACKSIDE TATTING
[email protected]: DOES EVERYONE KNOW HOW TO DO FRONTSIDE
BACKSIDE TATTING
Jenella: Hi Nina!
stitchingsharon: k
ChristineAS: Hello Nina!
GinaS: I don't, never took the time to learn
Dyannah: hi Nina
[email protected]: GINA IT IS EASIER THAN YOU THINK
Victoria E: Hi Nina
Angie: no
Dyannah: no, I don't know how to do front / side backside tatting
[email protected]: YOUR RINGS ARE DONE USING THE REGULAR FORMULA
FOR TATTING A RING THE NUMBER OF DOUBLE STITCHES THEN THE PICOT
THEN THE NUMBER OF DS AND SO ON THEN CLOSE THE RING
[email protected]: THEN WHEN YOU REVERSE YOUR WORK YOU WILL
THEN TAT THE SECOND HALF DS THEN THE FIRST HALF FOR THE NUMBER OF
STITCHES NEEDED.
nlibin: tat rings in a usual way and start chains with the second half of ds
[email protected]: THEN BOTH SIDES WILL HAVE EITHER A FRONT OR A
BACK BUT NOT BOTH AS WITH TRADITIONAL TATTING
GinaS: like you would on a split ring? except flip the stitches?
[email protected]: YOU WILL DO REVERSE ORDER OF DOUBLE STITCHES
OR RODS AS THEY ARE COMMONLY CALLED
[email protected]: EXACTLY GINA
Fred.: I could not get links to work on the pattern. Is it just me?
stitchingsharon: k
GinaS: that doesn't sound hard
[email protected]: NOW MANY SAY THEY CAN'T REMEMBER THE COUNT
Pam - Needle Teacher: so his front side is what we call back side do i have that right
Dyannah: no I couldn't get the links to work on the pattern either
[email protected]: http://www.georgiaseitz.com/reviews/jans...
nlibin: without thinking about sides I start chains always with the second half and do not count
that half, simply to dring elementa closer together
[email protected]: SUE WE HAVE A LINK ISSUE AGAIN
Laurel: Mine worked
Angie: q: on Jan's piece..if you did traditional (not fsbs) would everything still be able to work?
[email protected]: THANK YOU NINA THAT IS A WONDERFUL
EXPLANATION OF HOW TO DO FSBS COUNT
carol: Mine worked
[email protected]: YES IF YOU FOLLOW THE BLUE NUMBERS ALL THE
WAY THRU
Laurel: Did you get fred
Dyannah: my laptop and external monitor only barely shows the red - NO BLUE!
nlibin: is this the heart we are all tatting?
[email protected]: THE BLUE WAS TAKEN OFF TO SHOW THE WAY JAN
TATS HIS TECHNIQUE
[email protected]: THIS IS ONE AND WE HAVE ANOTHER ONE TO SHARE AS
WELL NINA
[email protected]: It's working fine for me - maybe just try right click on link and
choose open in a new window?
Laurel: Yes
Jenella: k
[email protected]: NOW HERE IS SOMETHING TO SHARE WITH YOU A
VIDEO OF JAN TATTING. IT IS INTERESTING TO WATCH A MASTER WORK ISN'T
IT
tatting_courseVimeo · 41:38 · 9 years
ago · 24KThis is a tatting course by Jan Stawasz. This video is to be embedded on his web site:
www.frywolitka.slupsk.pl.
Fred.: I tried that.
ChristineAS: Sk, the links on the pattern are not working, such as the link to Jan's Method
Victoria E: K
[email protected]: HIS WEB SITE LINKS DO NOT WORK ANYMORE AS
THERE IS NO ONE TO MAINTAIN HIS SITE.
Pam - Needle Teacher: what does x mean cut and hide?
[email protected]: THIS IS THE ONLY KNOWN VIDEO LEFT OF HIM
ACTUALLY TATTING. DO WATCH IT. IT IS FASCINATING
[email protected]: WHERE AT PAM
[email protected]: Oh I see, something more on our fix it list
Pam - Needle Teacher: on his heart very left middle section
Pam - Needle Teacher: more bottom ish and right not left
Angie: under G and H
ChristineAS: There are two "x"s on the pattern, right side, as well.
Angie: and above G and I
[email protected]: LET ME SEE THAT
Dyannah: there are also x's on the other side too.
Laurel: Turn sound off better
ChristineAS: Perhaps it is an indication to switch shuttles?
[email protected]: NO IT IS TO INDICATE A HALF STITCH THERE
Pam - Needle Teacher: near letter g
[email protected]: IT INDICATES A NON COUNTABLE HALF STITCH
[email protected]: THAT IS WHAT HIS BOOK STATES
[email protected]: I DID FIND SOMETHING ELSE INTERESTING ABOUT THE
WAY HE TATS
[email protected]: HE TATS THE TAILS OF HIS THREAD WHEN ADDING
NEW THREAD DIFFERENT FROM THE WAY WE DO
[email protected]: HE USES THE THREAD TAIL TO MAKE THE FIRST FEW
STITCHES WITH THEN SWITCHES TO THE SHUTTLE. THIS HE DOES ON CHAINS
ONLY SO HE TIMES WHERE HE WILL CHANGE THREAD OR ADD THREAD
Pam - Needle Teacher: i have his books and just found the 2 pages i could read.. sorry
[email protected]: THAT'S OK PAM
Angie: q: is there something special about the .1. that's in red? I mean about the periods, not the
color?
Pam - Needle Teacher: i have looked at these books over and over and never saw the english
pages before ( wearing dunce cap)
[email protected]: I AM STUDYING HIS METHOD CLOSER. I WAS TOLD
YEARS AGO THAT YOU JUST ADD THE HALF STITCH BEFORE AND AFTER ON
EACH ELEMENT AND I CANNOT REMEMBER EXACTLY WHO TOLD ME THAT BUT
I DID THAT ON MANY OF HIS PATTERNS USING FSBS METHOD AND IT WORKED.
[email protected]: THE PERIODS REPRESENT THAT HALF STITCH
Angie: kk, sorry if I made you repeat yourself.
[email protected]: I LOVE WATCHING AND LEARNING FROM OTHER
TATTERS AND EACH HAVE THEIR OWN WAY TO TAT
[email protected]: NO PROBLEM ANGIE
[email protected]: HIS IS A UNIQUE AND INTERESTING WAY
[email protected]: HIS PICOTS THAT ARE JOINED ARE SO SMALL YOU
CAN'T EVEN REALLY CALL THEM A PICOT
[email protected]: BUT THEY ARE SO CLOSE ON THE JOINS YOU CAN'T
EVEN TELL WHERE THE JOIN IS
[email protected]: HE ALSO USES THE REVERSE RIEGO METHOD WHEN HE
TATS
ChristineAS: This page has a working Errata link: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art9...
[email protected]: BUT CHECK THIS OUT HE ALSO WRAPS THE THREAD
FOR BOTH CHAIN AND RINGS ABOUT 6 TIMES AROUND HIS PINKY FINGER AND
USES HIS RING FINGER TO PULL HIS TENSION EVEN TIGHTER
ChristineAS: For anyone with his first book: https://www.georgiaseitz.com/reviews/jan...
[email protected]: THAT ERRATA GOES WITH THE THEORY AND PATTERNS
BOOK AND THERE IS ALSO ONE FOR HIS TATTED TREASURE
[email protected]: ALSO THERE IS ONE FOR THE MONSTER DOILY
[email protected]: HE NEVER HAD ANY OF HIS PATTERNS TEST TATTED AS
WE DO TODAY
[email protected]: HE ALSO NEVER REPEATED HIS PATTERNS
Berniceb joined the chat 13 hours ago
[email protected]: AND HE NEVER TATTED THE SAME PATTERN TWICE
[email protected]: HE WILL FOREVER BE REMEMBERED FOR THE BEAUTY
HE HAS BESTOWED UPON THE TATTING COMMUNITY
Angie: incredible
Pam - Needle Teacher: how long has he been gone
Jenella: awesome!
[email protected]: SO IN ESSENCE IF YOU TAT JANS PATTERNS USING FS BS
YOU NEED TO BE MINDFUL OF THE JOINING PICOTS AND THE COUNTS
Pam - Needle Teacher: he was born in 47
[email protected]: 2011 I BELIEVE
Pam - Needle Teacher: thanks
GinaS: I didn't know he died I did
[email protected]: IF YOU TAT TRADITIONAL DON'T LET THE OTHER
NUMBERS CONFUSE YOU
[email protected]: HIS BOOKS ARE NOT BEING PRINTED ANYMORE. THEY
WERE ONLY ALLOWED TO PRINT SO MANY AND WHAT IS OUT THERE IS ALL
THAT IS OUT THERE. I DON'T THINK THEY HAVE ANYMORE IN THE STORE ROOM
[email protected]: SO IF YOU WANT HIS BOOKS GET THEM BECAUSE I
DOUBT THERE WILL BE A REPRINT
[email protected]: NOW ON TO ANOTHER PATTERN
[email protected]: THIS PATTERN COMES FROM SUE'S BOOK SHE IS
WORKING ON TO REPRINT.
[email protected]: THIS IS THE HEARTS DESIRE
[email protected]: AND HERE IS THE
DIAGRAM http://leblogdefrivole.blogspot.com/2012...
[email protected]: IT IS A FAIRLY EASY PATTERN
[email protected]: JUST LOOKS DIFFICULT
[email protected]: ONLY BECAUSE IT IS SO DELICATE AND ELEGANT
LOOKING
[email protected]: SO SUE CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT THIS PATTERN
Laurel: Love the name
[email protected]: SO HERE IS HOW HEART’S DESIRE
BEGAN: https://www.georgiaseitz.com/design/imag...
[email protected]: DON'T YOU THOUGH
[email protected]: SO HERE IS HOW HEART’S DESIRE
BEGAN: https://www.georgiaseitz.com/design/imag...
[email protected]: NOTICE I JUST TOOK THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE
CENTER DRAWING FOR HEART'S DESIRE

[email protected]: SUE CHATZY IS NOT PLAYING NICE TONIGHT
[email protected]: lot's of nopes in between to get to the final
[email protected]: THE INTERESTING THING, FROM A DESIGN
STANDPOINT IS: I D0 LIKE AND WANTED THE VERY CENTER NEGATIVE SPACE &
ALWAYS THOUGHT IT COULD BE USED TO HANG A CHARM IN IT. AND I
ALWAYS THOUGHT I SHOULD CHANGE THOSE “COULD LOOK WONKY” CHAINS
THAT HELP FORM THAT SPACE.
Angie: that is soooo cooool! the progression is awesome to see.
ChristineAS: k

JB joined the chat 13 hours ago
Laurel: Hi jb
[email protected]: BUT REALIZED EVERYONE LIKED IT JUST AS IT IS -
IT'S JUST THAT INNER CRITIC THAT SEEMS TO HOVER JUST OVER DESIGNERS
SHOULDERS AND WHISPERS
JB: Hi Everyone. Sorry, I'm late.
[email protected]: NOW TO LOOK AT IT, I HAVE A BIT OF A SNEAK
PREVIEW (NOT PROOFED AND STILL IN PROGRESS) ON WHAT I WILL BE DOING
THIS SUMMER.
[email protected]: HI JB
ChristineAS: Hi jb!
Fred.: Welcome JB
[email protected]: AND THIS WAS TURNED INTO A PDF FROM ADOBE
INDESIGN SO LOOKS LIKE IT COULD JSUTS BE PRINTED BUT
tree: k
Fred.: Can not wait Sue.
tree: k
[email protected]: YOUR NOT LATE YOUR PRECISELY ON TIME FOR THE
BIG EVENT
[email protected]: THE ACTUAL PAGE SIZES ARE 8.5X11 EACH NOW SO
CAN'T JUST BE PRINTED
[email protected]: THEY ARE WAITING TO SEE THE PREMPT TO THE FINAL
BOOK
[email protected]: TAMIE SAID SHE PRINTED IT "AS A BOOKLET AND IT
WORKED -JUDT REMEMBER IT COULD HAVE ERRORS TIL IT'S PAROOFED AND
EDITED
[email protected]: https://www.georgiaseitz.com/design/imag...
Laurel: Did I miss something
[email protected]: NOPE SUE IS REVEALING HER PREMPT OF THE BOOK
[email protected]: CHATZY IS LAGGING BADLY THOUGH
Laurel: Oh I printed mine as a booklet too worked nicely thank you sue
carol: It is beautiful
[email protected]: SEE SUE THERE ARE 2 BOOKLET SAMPLES DONE AND
THEY BOTH PRINTED NICELY
Jenella: wonderful!
Angie: I printed, landscape and it was small, but fine
Victoria E: Very nice
Dyannah: when will it be official?
[email protected]: I ALWAYS THOUGHT I SHOULD CHANGE THOSE
“COULD LOOK WONKY” CHAINS THAT HELP FORM THAT SPACE.
[email protected]: I THINK ONE OF THE MAIN ISSUES IS GETTING THE
CHAIN CONSISTENCY ON THE LONG NO DECO - PICOTS CHAINS IN THE CENTER
BOTTOM.
Laurel: It is an icon dedign
[email protected]: WHAT I LIKED THE MOST ABOUT THIS BOOK PREMPT IS
NOT JUST THE HEARTS DESIRE PATTERN BUT ALSO THE EXTRA LITTLE HELPER
INFO IN IT
Laurel: Design
[email protected]: THEY NEED TO BE VERY SNUGLY TIGHTENED AND
PUSHED TOGETHER
Fred.: I am impress with the book.
[email protected]: A TOO LOOSE TENSION CAN MAKE THEM LOOK
WONKY/FLOPPY AND EVEN MINE IN THE PHOTO SAMPLE DOES NOT HAVE
GREAT TENSIONING ON IT - I DO NEED TO TAT A NEW ONE FOR THE BOOK.
[email protected]: A TOO LOOSE TENSION CAN MAKE THEM LOOK
WONKY/FLOPPY AND EVEN MINE IN THE PHOTO SAMPLE DOES NOT HAVE
GREAT TENSIONING ON IT - I DO NEED TO TAT A NEW ONE FOR THE BOOK.
Fred.: Looks perfect to me.
GinaS: lookes good, sue!
carol: Me too
[email protected]: HAS ANYONE TATTED IT AND FOUND OTHER
PROBLEMS?
[email protected]: THE REST OF THE BOOK IS GOING TO BE AMAZING I
HAVE TO SAY
Victoria E: Well done Sue
Laurel: Designer are never happy
[email protected]: AND THANKS YOU ALL - THIS IS HOW I WILL BE
SPENDING MY SUMMER
ChristineAS: Looks great, Sue
Dyannah: so when do you think the book will be available to purchase?
[email protected]: I SAW THE ORIGINAL ONE AND THE PATTERNS ARE
OMG
[email protected] joined the chat 13 hours ago
Fred.: Can we pre-order?
Laurel: Good idea
[email protected]: THE NICE THING IS THESE ARE ALL EASY PATTERNS
BUT THE KEY IS THE PICTURES SAY DIFFICULT THE PATTERNS ONCE GOTTEN
INTO ARE EASY
[email protected]: NOT SURE YET WHEN, BUT ANYONE WHO WANT'S
TO HELP PROOF AND TEST TAT LET ME KNOW
Laurel: No pressure Sue lol
Fred.: I do! I do! Sue!
[email protected]: SO DON'T LET SOMETHING LIKE TOO DELICATE OR
INTRICATE STEER YOU AWAY FROM A PATTERN CHOICE
Laurel: I would be happy to
Cyn: I'd appreciate helping you with the proofing and tatting
Susan F: ❤️❣️❤️
[email protected]: GREAT, THANKS CYN
Pam - Needle Teacher: i love to convert them to needle
[email protected]: OK FRED JUST EMAIL ME SO I CAN KEEP TRACK OF
YOU ALL
Berniceb: Hi Sue, I could test tat too :) 😊
[email protected]: CYN THAT WOULD BE AWESOME
carol: Yes please
[email protected]: REMEMBER IT IS ALL DONE ONE STITCH AT A TIME
Jenella: k
Angie: I'd be happy to help any way i could, sue
Dyannah: Pam - Needle Teacher did you know that someone has taken the Blomqvist book and
developed needle tatting instructions for the patterns?
[email protected]: THE BOOK DOES HAVE A LOT OF BEGINNER
PATTERNS TOO SINCE THAT WAS THE ORIGINAL PURPLSE OF IT
[email protected]: SO LET'S LOOK AT THE HEART AND DIAGRAM
Pam - Needle Teacher: no where do i see that or get that
Fred.: Night room dog is having issues with my sugar levels. I am dropping to fast. See
everyone next week.
Fred. left the chat 13 hours ago
[email protected]: SO FOR TONIGHTS HOMEWORK I WANT EVERYONE TO

Dyannah: It was on one of the tatting facebook groups I belong to.
Jenella: bye Fred
Laurel: Bye fred
JB: Good night Fred
carol: Bye Fred
Victoria E: Bye Fred
[email protected]: R1 IS INDICATED IN THE TOP RIGHT CENTER
stitchingsharon: goodnight all. thanks for sharing the great hearts!

[email protected]: THEN YOU GET TO THE BOTTOM R10 AND START UP
THE OTHER SIDE OF THE HEART
Lyndi: Hi Laurel, I got kicked out, since I missed this part earlier today I wanted to make sure I
got back in...
[email protected]: A TIP IS TO LAY YOUR PIECE DOWN AND MAKE
SURE THE 1ST HALF IS NOT TWISTED WHEN MAKING
Laurel: Glad you did
Pam - Needle Teacher: that applies to anything i have found
[email protected]: THE JOIN TO THE CHAIN ON THE 1ST HALF
nlibin: Thank you Tamie and Sue, great patterns and it was good to remember Jan, an
extraordinary tatter/designer. Have to go, seeyou next week
[email protected]: BYE NINA IT IS SO NICE TO HAVE YOU IN THE CLASSES

Victoria E: Good night Nina
Jenella: bye nina
Pam - Needle Teacher: good night nina
[email protected]: MAKE SURE YOUR LIONG CHAIN AT THE BOTTOM
OF THIS SIDE MATCH THE LENGTH AND SHAPE OF THOSE OPPOSITE ON THE 1ST
SIDE OF THE HEART
Berniceb: Hi Sue, I have used a paperclip to corral those joins on the right picots of the rings as
I come around with the chain. Others might find that useful too..
