Happy New Year to every one!

The year 2013 was a challenging time not just to the company but to everyone who is greatly affected by the recent earthquake and typhoon. The 7.2 magnitude earthquake in Bohol and the super typhoon Yolanda in Northern Cebu definitely put us to test.

It is in times like these that the Tsuneishi Foundation (Cebu), Inc. serves its purpose to help and support not just tthe affected employees and their families, but as well as our community; in this case Bohol and Northen Cebu.

I extend my gratitude to our employees for their kindness, cooperation, and initiative in helping during the relief operations. Let us continue to serve our purpose for the betterment of our society. In line with this, I would like to congratulate our 29 awardees who have shown their loyalty and faithfulness in supporting the company through thick and thin. I cannot thank you enough as well as your families for never failing to support you and THI.

We all know that this year was but a challenging one as the performance of THI

was greatly affected by some unexpected incidents where we lost 3 employees. I would

like to extend my sincerest sympathy to their families.

One factor also affecting the tides of success were the NDT issue and the delayed schedules on a few ships. Needless to say, THI suffered huge economical and reputational damages. We have to overcome such difficulties for the years to come.

I believe in the saying, “Failure teaches Success”. Over the years, THI experienced difficulties since operation started in Balamban. But because of the continued effort and courage made by all employees, THI

has sustained its growth. We are tasked to do many things to surpass every challenge and do sustainable improvement on our performances.

As we face 2014, THI will celebrate its 20th year. I trust that each of you will continue to do your best and will constantly pursue our goals for the betterment of this company, and be one of the leading shipbuilding in the world.
