Our exclusive rail and sail adventure begins in Brisbane as we board our privately chartered 621/721 Rail Motor at Roma Street Station for a relaxing two-day

journey south to Sydney. Built in 1962 for rail services in the Hunter region, the train offers windows that can be opened for fresh air and clear views of the passing countryside. In Grafton, by the delightful Clarence River, we stretch our legs for a lunch stop before continuing south for an overnight stay with dinner in beautiful Port Macquarie.

Next day, we reboard the train, with morning tea in Taree and an extended stop in the charming, old dairy and timber town of Dungog where we’ll have lunch at the Spanish-styled James Theatre, which celebrates its centenary in 2018 as the oldest purpose-built cinema still operating in Australia. Back on board, our itinerary takes us to the Rail Motor Society’s home in Paterson in the Hunter Valley where you can alight to explore other historic rail motors. Early this evening we arrive at Sydney’s Central Station and transfer to the historic Grace Hotel in the heart of the city for a 2-night stay. Built by the Grace Brothers in the 1920s as a showpiece for their successful retail business, the deluxe hotel has been beautifully restored to its former glory, making it one of Sydney’s most prominent historical landmarks, with striking, neo-Gothic architecture and art deco interiors.

The following morning - Anzac Day - there is the opportunity to attend the dawn service at Martin Place nearby the hotel and watch the parade along Elizabeth Street later in the day. This afternoon board the 1874-built, tall ship James Craig for a leisurely cruise on the harbour with the crew on hand to explain the square rigger’s colourful history and the harbour’s notable landmarks. The rest of the afternoon and

evening are free for you to explore, go shopping or relax at the hotel. This morning we head to nearby Circular Quay to board the 2000-passenger, Sun Princess. While in port, enjoy lunch onboard and spend the afternoon lazing on deck, enjoying unbeatable views over the bustling harbour and shimmering Opera House. This afternoon, the ropes will be untied for our spectacular sail out of Sydney Harbour and through the Heads for the 2-night cruise back to Brisbane. Aboard Sun Princess, feast on gourmet cuisine, join our exclusive ‘welcome aboard’ get together, swim in the pool, see a show or movie or pick your favourite deck chair and take in the sea air and views of the distant coastline.
