Precision ball bearings align the coplanar inner and outer ring grooves and capture the rolling flexure, shaped like a wedding band, to complete an electrical circuit between the rotor and stator. As the inner rotor of the module rotates clockwise, and the outer stator remains fixed, the flexures rotate counter clockwise and orbit the axis of rotation clockwise. Direct metal-to-metal contact through the preloaded flexure provides and reliable contact performance that is backed by design analysis and life tests.
