Tamarack Tamarack gâÜy From the President Marty Samojedny | 630-904-6077 | [email protected] I t’s spring, but as I watch the golfers in my backyard, it looks like they are dressed for the north pole. March 20th was not only the first day of spring, it was the day that homeowners in unincorporated Wheatland Township approved a referendum for waste pickup service. The referendum authorizes Wheatland Township to contract, administrate and license a refuse collection, disposal and recycling program on behalf of the residents of the unincorporated areas of the township. The township has already requested bids from major haulers and has selected Environmental Recycling and Disposal to provide the service. The terms and pricing of their service is very attractive and will begin June 1st. I have invited a representative of this company to attend our April General Meeting to give an overview of their service and review the service start up process. Our Spring General Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 17th at 7 pm in the Tamarack Clubhouse. Please put that meeting date and time on your calendar. We need 25 out of 195 homeowners to attend the meeting to have a quorum and be able to conduct official business. We only had 23 homeowners attend our Fall General Meeting (It’s just an hour!). I will publish a final meeting agenda on our website before the Spring Meeting. The Tamarack Golf Course has a new general manager, Miles Tucker, and he will speak at the April General Meeting. Miles will share his 2018 plans for the golf course with the homeowners. In addition to our two guests, the meeting agenda will include approving our 2018 budget which could not be approved at our November meeting. We are also looking for two new board members. Kirk Handley departed the board in December and Yvonne Mlecko has just stepped down as our Secretary and Newsletter Chairperson. Yvonne has done a great job for the homeowners, and we will all miss her. If you are interested in filling one of these vacancies, please contact me. We will also review our plans for the year and discuss the status of our project to update the entrance lighting. It’s spring, but as I watch the golfers in my backyard, it

looks like they are dressed for the north pole. March

20th was not only the first day of spring, it was the day

that homeowners in unincorporated Wheatland Township

approved a referendum for waste pickup service. The

referendum authorizes Wheatland Township to contract,

administrate and license a refuse collection, disposal and

recycling program on behalf of the residents of the

unincorporated areas of the township.

The township has already requested bids from major

haulers and has selected Environmental Recycling and Disposal

to provide the service. The terms and pricing of their service is

very attractive and will begin June 1st. I have invited a

representative of this company to attend our April General

Meeting to give an overview of their service and review the

service start up process.

Our Spring General Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday,

April 17th at 7 pm in the Tamarack Clubhouse. Please put that

meeting date and time on your calendar. We need 25 out of

195 homeowners to attend the meeting to have a quorum and be able to conduct official

business. We only had 23 homeowners attend our Fall General Meeting (It’s just an

hour!). I will publish a final meeting agenda on our website before the Spring Meeting.

The Tamarack Golf Course has a new general manager, Miles Tucker, and he will

speak at the April General Meeting. Miles will share his 2018 plans for the golf course

with the homeowners.

In addition to our two guests, the meeting agenda will include approving our 2018

budget which could not be approved at our November meeting. We are also looking for

The upcoming Tamarack Fairways

garage sale will be held on May

10th, 11th and 12th. As you're

doing your spring cleaning, be sure to put

away all of those 'treasures' that you want to

sell that weekend. The buyers were out in

droves last October for our fall garage sale

and the spring garage sale is usually busier.

This would be a great time to be able to

purge all those items that have taken up

residence over the years! We'll advertise in

the local paper and with plenty of signs

throughout the subdivision. We're looking

forward to great participation!

Once again, we're planning our Summer

Fiesta get together. We are in the early

planning stages right now, so stay tuned for

further details in the next issue of Tamarack

Turf.
