Potato Creek drive was a wet one but we still got a lot of driving in despite the rain. Sue, Lori and Jeanne sponsored the drive. It was a lot of fun. Saturday was sunny and we all drove to the General store and back. My horse still thinks she's a race horse and could have made it to the store and back at a 2: minute clip. I took her on one of the trails and enjoyed the solidarity in the woods. She was much more relaxed. As we walked through the woods a beautiful butterfly landed on her rump and stayed with us a long time. That's when I wished I had my camera. What a beautiful picture that would have made.
YES we did have a drive July 12th at Buckley .The rain was forecast as it has been so many times this year, and I don't blame anyone with a distance to drive for not coming. Several of us did come and because of the mud in the back forth only Sue Doody braved that area. Then we drove what they call the historic area of pioneer farm, schoolhouse and the 1910 farm. We still had not enough driving so we took to the roads around the outside of the park going past the observatory and the 40 acres they hope to put trails through and the home of some horse owning friends of mine at the south end of the park We then had lunch and talked a while. It is still more fun when you have friends to drive with than sitting home. We did have really good weather and the biggest turnout ever for the Happy Note show .Some of the classes had seventeen entries and there were several who were new to the show ring. That was great to see.

Rain rain go away your killing us with the price of hay. In spite of the rains Jennifer and Pete Hebert are courageously sponsoring another drive at Stoney Run county park on Saturday, August 22.They have fought the rain several times and really deserve a bright sunny day with a large club turnout, and this should be the one. I wish I could say we are having great drives with big turnouts BUT NOT SO. The exception has been the Happy Note driving show that had the best turnout ever with one class having 16 entries We had new winners like Janet Toma and new drivers getting their first ribbons like Caroline Woodcock and Jean Kerosky. There are probably others and it would be nice if they could write for the newsletter about the excitement of getting there first ribbons. After the Hebert drive comes our best attended drive at Sig Boezemans on September 13th.This is such an exciting drive and adventure at this beautiful farm with Sigs neighbors opening their farms to us. Also, I have been to every drive there and do not believe I have been on every trail. You may also bring friends that are not club members to enjoy this great outing and please bring something to pass for this great drive. There will be rolls and coffee about 9am. Tom Perzee called me and we are going to move forward with participation at Hoosier Horse Fair in Indianapolis. If you would like to drive there and participate let Tom or me know. In Sept. we will meet with Indiana Horse Council and present a plan for a driving program. Janet Perzee is doing well and back on her feet again and we hope to see her soon. I want to write in this message that next year the club must have a new president. I have held this office for more than ten years and want someone

else to take it over with more ideas. I will not leave the club and will be happy to help new officers or stand out of there way. There are too many things that need to be kept as state and federal forms that others need to know and contacts for some club outings that other members need to know to keep this club growing and moving forward.
