INT. OLD KILLERS LIVING ROOM - LATE EVENING

FADE IN

The messy decrepit living room is illuminated by a lightfrom the kitchen and occasional lightning flashes from the

storm raging outside. The OLD KILLER laboriously walks fromthe kitchen and slumps on the couch. He looks at the beer inhis hand with tired, world weary eyes. After cracking thebeer he grabs the remote and turns on the TV. The TVilluminates his face and is reflected in his glasses. Heflicks through the channels, a soap opera, a comicallyviolent cartoon, a game show to the news.

NEWSCASTER...investigating a homicide whichoccurred in downtown Gothem today.The killing is the second case oflate which is reminiscent of the

Harlem Hacker case in which thirtyseven people died in the lateeighties.

At hearing the name Harlem Hacker the OLD KILLERs browfurrows with anger and confusion.

NEWSCASTEROfficials are yet to confirmwhether they believe this to bework of a copycat or if the Hackerhas resurfaced to....

The volume of the TV fades to a murmur as narration begins.(Close on OLD KILLER as he flicks through the channels)

OLD KILLER(V.O.)

After thirty years I heard my oldname for a second time mere daysafter the first newscast caught myattention. These people are just asthey would have been chosen by me,their bodies torn apart as thoughby my hands. I have no doubt thatthe pigs are quaking after theresurgence in my glorious work. Theonly problem is that this time itwasnt me.

The OLD KILLER shuts off the TV and rises to look out theapartment window at the pouring rain, his reflection in thewindow stares back at him.

OLD KILLERTen years ago I was unstoppable. Aman with a mission, dedicated to mycauses, absolute in my principles.I knew what needed to be done and Idid it in the only way I knew how.

EXT. ALLEYWAY - AFTERNOON

Match cut from reflections face to the face of the OLDKILLER as a young man. He stands over a bloodied young womanwith duct tape across her mouth. She is bound on the alleyground and is clearly panicked.

OLD KILLER (YOUNG)Im sorry it had to come to thisbut if you continue to sin thenyour sins will return to haunt you.

The young woman makes an attempt to scream through her gagshaking her head and trying to scramble away.

OLD KILLER (YOUNG)Goodnight young love, I wish youmore success in the next world thanyou had in this.

He kneels down and begins viciously stabbing her, a look ofjoy across his face.

OLD KILLER(V.O)

As a result of my work today I am aman alone. Once upon a time I had apurpose. Once I lived with passionand dedication to the work I knewwas right but now I am old, weakand tired and another has taken myjoy. Another who I am resolved tofind.

The OLD KILLER walks across the apartment to the wall phone.he dials it maintaining a stern distant look.
