From the Director:
Summer Greetings,
I hope this newsletter finds you cool and relaxed in the shade somewhere
drinking a cold beverage.
Our summer is hopping at CJAMM! We have completed New Day Camp I and
getting ready for a second New Day of the summer. New Day Camp I was a huge
success with happy campers learning to swim, do art projects and service learning,
having great praise and worship, fishing and so much more!
We have a great opportunity each year to apply for a grant that pays half scholarships to each child
at New Day Camps. This grant is through Prison Fellowship/Angel Tree Ministries. We are still seeking
(50) $250 scholarships to ensure each child has a great summer. You can do this online at www.cjamm.org
or mail to our address.
Each year your generosity and support helps a child see a “New Day.” This year I was able to assist
with photography as well as a Focus Group. During Focus Group, I asked the children to paint what peace
meant to them. Each child painted things like a sunset, someone painted sports teams, some painted tree
houses, but my heart was overwhelmed when a camper painted a picture of New Day Camp. Thank you for
your support to make sure children have this opportunity. Together we are breaking the generational
cycles of incarceration through all of our ministries.
Blessings,
Kristen Harlin

SUMMER 2018
TULSA REDEMPTION CHURCH Hi Guys,
Life is good at Tulsa Redemption Ministries; we are so excited
to have Estelle Turbyfill as part of our team, as she integrates
into her role as case manager; it is exciting to watch our
residents continue to grow and see the restoration that is taking
place in families and watch them realize the full potential that
God has for their lives.
St. Luke’s continues to minister to the lives of our clients; it is
exciting to watch families come to visit and be a part of the
transformation taking place in their lives as well; it is always
joyful to watch our clients praying for one another at the alter;
and it was a joy to have a young lady surrender her life to Christ
and be baptized in the last service; it would be impossible for us
to minister to so many without the countless volunteers that
provide meals, transportation, teaching, apartment sponsors and
prayer for our congregation; these volunteers truly have servants
hearts and are furthering the kingdom work on a daily basis.
Our men at the parsonage are growing in their relationship
with Christ and continue to surprise me with their faithfulness
and dedication to their program; thank you Daniel and
company for your continued service.
I want to thank all of my staff
and volunteers for their
faithfulness and dedication and
for those in the community that
continue to pray for and
support our ministries.
Blessings,
Steve Bear
TULSA EXODUS HOUSE & PARSONAGE HOUSE
Greetings from Exodus House Tulsa and the Parsonage:
We want you all to know how thrilled we are to be transitioning inmates into reliable servants for the Lord.
Last week we received a donation of mattresses for all the men at The
Parsonage House from Mattress Firm and the men were so grateful. We as a
ministry are also grateful for their donation. We are getting donations large
and small and we thank you all for your gifts of bus passes, dinners, clothing,
furniture, sponsorships and so much more. All of our residents are stepping
out of their comfort zones and serving in outstanding ways. They are loving
this second and sometimes third or fourth chance at living life on God’s
terms.
One of residents who spent 15 years behind bars was able to spend the
weekend reuniting with family members, including grandchildren with a
cookout at Exodus House. We welcome families and encourage our residents
to visit with them here.
We are planning a fun in the sun day for Exodus House and Parsonage
residents at Steve and Rhonda Bear’s house at the lake soon. Also, our annual
Exodus House and Parsonage reunion is coming up on Labor Day, September 3 from 5:00-7:00 at the Exodus House. I hear it is a
wonderful fellowship time for our previous graduates, sponsors, friends and family and we would love to have you join us. I am
anxious to meet all our sponsors and program graduates and get to hear how God is blessing them and their families.
I am very excited about my being here at Exodus House Tulsa! I feel God cut out a special puzzle piece in a huge picture and made
me the puzzle piece that fits perfectly for this position. Thank you God for unfolding miracles in all our lives daily.
To the Lord be the Glory, Shalom

SUMMER 2018
OKC EXODUS HOUSE
Exodus House OKC is very excited to announce our First Annual Graduate’s Reunion on Saturday, August 4th from 1 pm to 4
pm. We will be having a BBQ , ribs, brisket, hot dogs, chips and drinks. We are expecting around 80 with the current residents,
graduates 32 confirmed and others interested. We expect to see our Apartment Sponsors there as well as our UMM Groups. Bring
a meat or side dish, dessert or drinks. We have ample parking in the empty lot across the street on 25th and Walker. We hope to
see some of you there. Special thanks to those who have donated to help with some of the costs. We have been seeing so many
former residents and graduates lately who have been stopping by asking about the reunion. What a blessing to see them and to
hear their stories of how they are doing and the successes they continue to achieve in their lives, and to meet their new families.
What a joy to see God’s call on their lives and know that Our United Methodist Ministry (CJAMM) is and has been a part of
that!!
We want to thank Wesley UMC, Blanchard UMC, Jones UMC, Terry Dyke and
St. Luke’s UMC of Edmond for inviting us to speak and for the bedding, baskets,
gift cards, cleaning supplies and your support of our ministry. We are excited to
have Wesley UMC sponsoring an apartment here at the Exodus House. Also Dennis
Murray, Rodney Indermill and the UMM Group from First United Methodist
Church Edmond for the remodel of our
laundry room.
We would love to thank Ben Botkin and
Oklahoma Watch for getting the issues
out there on court costs and fines,
voting, medical Issues, child support,
and all the other obstacles our residents
have to deal with upon reentry.
We invite you to come take a tour of our facility, bring a work group or invite us to
do a Speak Out !! We would love to tell you more about us and how you can be a part
of our ministry!! God Bless You!!
