Advantages of Google Docs:

1. Documents on Google Docs are saved to Google’s servers. Therefore if your computer’s hard drive crashes, you won’t lose the document that you’ve been working on.2. Google Docs offers the feature of allowing people to view past edits.3. Documents can be shared, opened, and edited by multiple users at the same time. 4. Google offers one of the best services for cloud computing document sharing.5. While other cloud computing services charge fees, Google Docs is free.

The New Computing Curriculum

• understand computer networks including the internet; how they can provide multiple services, such as the world wide web; and the opportunities they offer for communication and collaboration

• use search technologies effectively, appreciate how results are selected and ranked, and be discerning in evaluating digital content

The New Computing Curriculum:Computer Science

• design, write and debug programs that accomplish specific goals, including controlling or simulating physical systems; solve problems by decomposing them into smaller parts

• use sequence, selection, and repetition in programs; work with variables and various forms of input and output

• use logical reasoning to explain how some simple algorithms work and to detect and correct errors in algorithms and programs

Computer Science

• Computer programming/coding

An algorithm is a set of instructions for solving a problem.

When the instructions are followed, it must eventuallystop with an answer.

Key Stage 2 Computer Science• design, write and debug programs that accomplish

specific goals, including controlling or simulating physical systems; solve problems by decomposing them into smaller parts

Make games, animations and control robots by planning and choosing the correct sequence of commands.

e-Safety• We have a curriculum especially for e-Safety• Staying safe online is taught in stand-alonelessons and reinforced continuously in lessonswhere appropriate and as needed

Children are taught to:use technology safely, respectfully and responsibly; recognise acceptable/unacceptable behaviour; identify a range of ways to report concerns about content and contact.
