GradingA guide to Baüsen grading

ABC – Natural50% of this grade allows sound knots below 20mm and dead knots below 5mm, 30% sapwood allowed giving natural colour variation.

Grading – Baüsen brand offers grades as follows:

BCD – RusticRustic – defects allowed, large knots filled. 100% of this grade allows living knots of 20mm and over. Colour variation unlimited. Knots putty filled before sanding and sealing.

Super RusticThis is a mixed super rustic grade with broken edges, distressed top layer which is Sawn marked, Water marked and then Chemical colour changed.

UnfinishedAllowing you the consumer to taylor the floor to your requirements in terms of colour and finish.

Natural oiled floors will need maintaining according to levels of foot traffic. We strongly suggest adding an additional coat of Fiddes Hard Wax Oil immediately after your floor has been installed – please refer to page 21 for further information.

It is to be expected that a Baüsen oiled floor will need further applications of flooring oil during its lifetime. The exact frequency will depend on the amount of traffic crossing the floor. We recommend that an application of Hard Wax Oil is given to the floor immediately following installation. Please ask your local distributor for further details.
