La Misa en Español, Iglesia de Cristo Rey, 4221 Calle “J,” Lin- coln, NE 68510 (402-488-5087) Welcome to Sacred Heart Church The Nativity of Saint John the Baptist June 24, 2018 Peter’s Pence Collection will be taken up next week. By supporting this collection, you assist the charitable works of Pope Francis. Your generosity is a witness to charity and helps the Holy See reach out compassionately to those who are marginalized. For example, with support to the PPC and the assistance of the Vicar of the Latin Patriarchate in Amman, Jordan, a funding network has been created to respond to the needs of Immaculate Conception Parish School in Al Huson. The parish assists more than 800 chil- dren, many of whom are refugees from the war in Syria. Al Huson is located about 12 miles from the border with Syria. In recent years, the arrival of many refugees has heavily impacted the economy and daily life in the city. With help from university stu- dents in the parish who teach math, Arabic, and English, hundreds of children not in the school system are learning to read and write. Pray for the Holy Father as he reaches out compassionately to make the world less cold and more just and for those who are suffer- ing and will benefit from this collection. Please use an envelope of your own, and mark it, “Peter’s Pence”. Please note change of time for Daily Mass next week: Due to Totus Tuus being here at Sacred Heart, daily Mass will NOT take place at 8:15 am on Monday- Friday. Rather, the Masses will be: Monday-Weds. at 11:30 am; Thursday at 1:45 pm; and Friday at 11:30 am. See page 2 for the complete schedule. TOTUS TUUS begins this Sunday for high school students and Monday for grades 1-8. You can still register your child by filling out one of the forms in the back of church. Hand the registration to Father Kosch or bring it with your child to the first day of class. There will be a pot luck dinner Wednesday, June 27th at 6:00 pm in the rectory basement. Everyone is invited. Please bring a main dish and a salad or a dessert to share. Drinks and table service will be provided.
