Please take a seat: the Multivan Startline has five seats as standard

with att ractive, robust c loth upho lstery. You can also ord er two

single seats with integral childs seats as an option for the passen-

ger compartment. It features full t rim and fresh colours which

create a cosy, inviting atmosphere. The passenger compartment is

practical as well. The 3-seater bench seat can be moved to make

extra space in the luggage or passenger compartment. The table

Chrome package.This package is the

way to go for t hose who like to look a

little smarter. Elegant chrome lends a

Sliding windows.Just reach for the

handle to let fresh air in, quickly and

easily with the new sliding windows

on both the left and right sides.

and rear window panes offer a high de-

gree of privacy in the interior, while

providing excellent protection against

The insulating-glass packageimproves

Our mission is to build engines that use less fuel, produce fewer pollutants and thereby

cause less damage to the environment. Efficient common rail technology has helped

us to achieve this goal with the TDI engines more successfully than ever before. Of

course, this doesnt mean that you have to make do without a powerful engine. The

2.0 l BiTDI engine, for example, has two exhaust gas turbochargers. For the driver,

this means: increased torque at lower engine speeds, enhanced performance at high

engine speeds and improved engine response. We are also breaking new ground with

our petrol engines two powerful TSI engines with modern exhaust gas turbocharg-

ing are available for the Multivan. It goes without saying that all our engines fulfil the

The 2.0 l common rail diesel engines. The TDI engines are particularly efficient thanks

to a combination of a small displacement, turbocharging and direct injection. Accur-

ate injection processes under high pressure ensure that fuel is burned evenly, resulting

in high performance at low fuel consumption. The efficiency of these engines is

further supported by the low maintenance costs. A 2.0 l TDI engine in three different

output levels as well as a 2.0 l BiTDI with 132 kW5)are available for the Multivan.

7-speed dual clutch gearbox (DSG) . The

modern dual clutch gearbox is capable

of changing gears with no interruption

in power flow. When the gearbox is

in manual mode, the instrument panel

gives the driver a gear recommendation

for a particularly fuel-efficient driving

style. In conjunction with BlueMotion

Technology and the multifunction

display, the engines with 103 kW* and

new benchmark for sustainable mobility. The start/stop system is among the most

important developments here. It provides the basis for the fuel-saving measures in

the Multivan with BlueMotion Technology. In conjunction with regenerative braking,

Regenerative braking(not illustrated).Thanks to special energy management

software, the voltage in the alternator is

boosted when the vehicle is coasting

or braking. This ensures that the battery

of the vehicle is recharged and relieves

the strain on the engine, which leads to a

reduction in fuel consumption. Further-

more, it enables the alternators voltage

to be reduced whilst driving.

Low rolling resistance tyres.The

Multivan with BlueMotion Technology

achieves ground contact with low roll-

ing resistance tyres. The lower roll re-

Start/stop system.It automatically turns the engine off when the vehicle is in neutral

or the clutch is released for example, when stopping at a red light. To resume driving,

electronics can prevent the vehicle from

breaking away through controlled in-

tervention in the brake and engine man-

agement.1)

Net partition. The tear-resistant net

partition offers passive protection. It

can be stretched to the attachment

points behind the B pillar or in front of

the D pillar.

Securing eyelets.There are a total of

six securing eyelets inside the vehicle and

in the boot for safely securing loaded

items.

Daytime driving lights(not illustrated).

The separate lights integrated in the

headlights are switched on automatically

when the ignition is a ctivated and lower

the risk of an accident in daylight. If

you sel ect t he optio nal bi- xenon he ad-

lights for your vehicle, the daytime

running lights will be fitted with energy-

saving LEDs.

Electronic brake pressure distribution

(EBD). When t he veh icle weight is

transferred to the front wheels during

braking, EBD prevents wheel lock on

the rear wheels.

Seat belt warning. When t he sea t belt

is not fastened, the seat belt warning

gives the driver a visual and acoustic

warning as a reminder to fasten the

belt before setting off on your journey.

Tyre monitoring display.Should there

be changes in pressure on any of the

four tyres, a symbol is displayed to warn

the driver to check tyre pressures as

soon as possible.

Anti-lock brake system (ABS).ABS pre-

vents complete wheel lock and therefore

Brake assist system.It recognises

the speed at which the brake pedal is

actuated. In the case of reflex or

emergency braking, the system builds

up full brake pressure more rapidly.

Insulating box.It is electrically operated

and can be used to cool and warm con-

tents. The anthracite-coloured, 32-litre

insulating box can accommodate 1.5 litre

bottles lying flat and 1.0 litre bottles

upright.

Sunblinds. The vehicle interior can be

protected from undesirable sun rays and

prying eyes with these blinds. They can

be pulled out easily from the housing at

the bottom of the side windows and

attached to the top.

Anti-theft warning system(not illus-trated). Acoustic and visual signals warn

of unauthorised entry. The system is

also available with interior monitoring as

an option. This can be deactivated via

a separate switch if necessary.

De luxe headlining2).Ventilation outlets

in the headlining supply fresh air to

the passenger compartment and reduce

misting over of the side windows. The

integrated reading lights can be adjust-

ed for reading books.

Sliding/tilting sunroof.The sliding sun-

roof can be opened, tilted and closed

via the automatic preselection or the turn

switch on the roof lining. If resistance

is met, an electronic trapping protector

stops this process immediately.

Step. The illuminated lettering, here in

the Multivan Highline, assists passen-

gers in getting in and out of the vehicle,

while als o adding a n elegan t touch to

the interior.

Climatic air conditioning system.This

semi-automatic air conditioner has an

interior sensor to regulate the climate

inside the vehicle to meet the desired

temperature setting. It can be adjusted

to suit the individual needs of the

passengers.

Headlight cleaning system. When l ow- or high-bea m head lights are tu rned o n, the headligh t hous ing gla ss is washed with eve ry

five windscreen washes.

Auxiliary heating. This works independently of the heating and ventilation systems,

and is available with or without remote control. Alternatively, a water heater is also

available upon request.

Electrically folding door mirrors. Electrically heated and adjustable door mirrors are

standard. As an option, the mirrors can have an electric folding function. Depending on

the model, the mirror housings are painted or unpainted.



Good-Night Package.The vehicle interior

can be darkened with the help of win-

dow blinds. A washable cover for the 3-

seater bench seat, three drawers under-

neath the 3-seater bench seat as well as a

mini reading light complete the package.

Climatronic air conditioning system.This system offers a 3-zone electronic tem-

perature adjustment for the driver, front passenger and passenger compartment. It

recognizes the intensity of sun rays a nd the outside temperature, and adds more

or less cool air accordingly. The automatic air distribution mechanism and air quality

sensors ensure a pleasant interior climate.

Multiflex board.A stable multiflex board

with an upholster y cover is available

in conjunction with the 3-seater bench

as an optional extra. It can be secured

to the rail system, provides a divider for

the boot space and creates an addi-

tional storage surface. The board can be

combined with the Good-Night Package,

thereby increasing the available lying

space. The boot space cover is no longerdelivered if the multiflex board is or-

dered.

RCD 310 radio system.It has all the functions of the RCD 210, but in addition also

offers eight loudspeakers, a large display, an AUX-IN interface in the glove compart-

ment and a diversity aerial. Combined with the ParkPilot parking assistant, the distance

to the obstacle is displayed in a chart on the screen. This radio is also equipped with

digital audio broadcasting (DAB+) in the Multivan Comfortline, Multivan Highline and

Multivan PanAmericana.

DYNAUDIO sound system.Ten carefully

calibrated treble, medium-range and

bass frequencies, together with a ten-

channel amplifier, deliver full sound

and an output of up to 600 watts. Can be

combined with RCD 310, RNS 315

and RNS 510.

Automatically dimming rear view mirro rand rain sensor.The rear view mirror dims

automatically when the headlights of the vehicle behind are too bright. This gives

you b ette r forw ard v isibi lity. I n ad ditio n, a rain senso r in the m irror regist ers e ven

light rainfall on the windscreen and activates the windscreen wipers immediately.

No matter where your journey takes you, the Multivan will guide you to your destination

via the direct rout e using modern navigat ion techn ology unless a traffic jam lies

ahead. You will then, of course, be diverted around it. Your entertainment is also made

sure of for example, with the integrated MP3-capable CD drive.

0XOWLPHGLD

Digital Voice Enhancement (DVE). Microphones above the front seats a nd in the

headlining of the passenger compartment make it easier for passengers to hold

conversations. DVE is only available in conjunction with the RCD 310 radio and

the RNS 510 radio/navigation system. Mobile phone equipment is compatible

with DVE so that passe ngers can a lso p artic ipate in pho ne ca lls.

RCD 210 radio system.The radio has

a RDS station display, a MP3-capable

CD player, four 20 watt loudspeakers

in the cab, and can be combined with

mobile phone preparation.

AUX-IN and ME DIA-I N inte rface. Ex-

ternal audio sources such as a CD or

MP3 player can be connected using the

cinch socket or USB adapter cable and

operated via the radio or radio/naviga-

tion system.*

Side Assist lane change assist. Should

the sensors register a vehicle in the blind

spot when you change lanes, the system

will warn y ou via a vis ual s ignal in th e

door mirror.

Turning lights.The inner fog light on

the bend illuminates the edge of the

road when you are turning off at a speed

of 40 km/h or less. Possible dangers can

therefore be recognised more quickly for

greater safety during the journey.

Rear Assist reversing camera. A cam-

era at the rear helps you to park. It trans-

mits an exact image of the area behind

your vehicle to the display of t he naviga-

tion system and shows you the antici-

pated path.

Driving light assistant with cominghome and leaving home function (not

illustrated). The area around the ve-

hicle is brightly illuminated to help you

when gett ing in and out. This also of-

fers extra safety on dark nights.

Plus multifunction display.The mono-

chrome TFT display shows up-to-date

journey infor mation, inc luding ext erior

temperature, range, average speed and

fuel consumption. The Premium MFD

is standard for the Highline and the

PanAmericana.

Cycle carrier.The carrier, which is made of anodised aluminium profile bars and weighs 13 kg, is suitable for the transportation of

up to four bicycles (max. 60 kg). It has been pre-assembled and is therefore very easy to fit to the tailgate. It is equipped with anti-theft

fasteners. The opening function of the tailgate is not impaired by attaching this carrier (without bicycle).

RNS 315 navigation function for

RCD 310 radio. The RNS 315 has all

functions of the RCD 310 radio sys-

tem but it also has a touch screen with

a diagonal of over 12 cm which can,

for example, display images from the

optional Rear Assist reversing cam-

era. Maps for Western Europe are stored

on the integrated 6 GB flash memory

so that you can use the CD slot to listento your favourite CD via eight loud-

speakers during navigation. An AUX-IN

interface and an SD card slot are in-

tegrated on the front of the appliance.

RNS 510 radio/navigation system. This system offers all functions of the RNS 315

but has a colour touch screen with a diagonal of over 16 cm. The DVD supplied with

the system contains maps for Western Europe. It can be copied onto the 30 GB hard disk

of the RNS 510 so that you can use the CD slot to listen to your favourite CD at the

same time. Additionally, the system offers voice recognition and can be equipped with

digital radio reception (DAB+) upon request.

DVB-T tuner*.Combined with the RNS

510 radio/navigation system, you can

receive analogue and digital television

programmes during breaks in driving.

Rear seat entertainment.The folding TFT monitor in a 16:9 cinema-format with a

diagonal of over 25 cm and an integrated DVD player ensures great entertainment. You

can easily adjust the settings with the backlit control buttons or the remote control,

which is included in the delivery. The rear seat entertainment syst em also includes two

infrared headphones.

boxes have a capacity of 310, 340 and

460 litres, and quick release fasteners

make it easy to secure them. The DuoLift

system enables the lockable boxes to

be opened from either side.

Basic carrier.The carrier systems offered

by Volkswagen Genuine Accessories

help you to carry everything safely. The

lockable basic carrier is the basis for

all attachments from ski and kayak

holders to practical roof boxes.

Ski and snowboard holder.You can

transport up to six pairs of skis, up to

four snowboards or one wakeboard

safely with this lockable carrier. It has a

comfortable pull-out function for ease

of loading and unloading.

Baby seat G0 plus ISOFIX1).The G0

plus child seat system offers maximum

comfort and optimal protection for

newborns and small children up to 15

months (or up to 13 kilograms). The

robust base frame can be firmly attached

to the vehicle body using the ISOFIX

connection points. It can also be secured

with a 3-p oint seatb elt. The c hild i s

held safely in place with the integrated,

height-adjustable seat insert and the

height-adjustable, five-point harness

straps. The child seat system also in-cludes a removable sunshade, an adjust-

able carrying handle and an easy-to-

remove washable cloth cover.

Child seat G2-3 ISOFIT1).This comfort-

able child seat system consists of a seat

cushion, a backrest as well as an ad-

justable headrest and offers ideal support

for children between three to twelve

years (15 t o 36 kilogra ms). The s pecial

head part, the side flanks that protrude

to the front and the fully upholstered

shoulder area ensure the best possible

protection in the event of a side colli-

sion. The child seat system is attached

using the ISOFIX connection points.

Both the seat height and the angle canbe adjusted individually to ensure

that the child is properly secured in the

seat. And the seat covers can be easily

removed and washed in case they get

Loading sill protection2).This synthetic loading sill protector with high-quality

stainless steel look can be easily attached, protecting the bumper from scratches that

can occur during loading and unloading the boot.

Luggage net.The tear-proof net has securing hooks that can be fastened to the stand-

ard lashing eyes in the load compartment to keep everything in place and prevent

loads and luggage from sliding around.

Luggage compartment insert.The light,

flexible insert precisely fits the contours of

the Multivan. An approx. 5 cm raised rim

around the edge protects from moisture

and dirt. The rhombus pattern integrated

in the insert has a non-slip effect.

Folding bag. This bag provides plenty

of storage space for shopping, files and

toys, yet is extremely space saving

when fo lded an d stowe d. It is made of

black textile fabric with a Volkswagen

logo on the side and can be wiped clean.

The bag has integral straps that can be

firmly secured to the standard lashing

eyes in the luggage compartment.

Wind and rain def lector. When driving with the window slightly open, the deflector

effectively reduces spray and wind noise. It also offers protection for when the sun

shines from the side. The deflectors shape is an exact match to the vehicle and can

be attached easily without drilling or adhesives. The two-piece set comprises a wind

deflector for both side windows on the left and right.
