We use multiplication in many different situations. Here are some examples.
You might see these words and phrases in
multiplication questions:

The answer is called the
product.
To multiply a number by four, double it twice.
15 x 4Double 15 = 30Double 30 = 60
To multiply a number by 50, multiply it by 100 and then halve it.
To multiply a number by 25, multiply it by 100 and then halve it twice!
To multiply a number by 9, multiply it by
10 and subtract the number.
19 x 919 x 10 = 190
190 – 19 = 171
