KITSAP FOREST THEATER
KITSAP FOREST THEATER
Spring 2015 May 24 - 25, 30 - 31 June 6 - 7, 13 - 14
2:00 pm
Based on the timeless books of P.L. Travers and complete with all the beloved songs from the Academy Award-winning Disney film, this magical stage musical tells the inspirational tale of the amazing flying nanny who’s practically perfect in every way.
Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. With ordinary common sense, extraordinary magic, and “A Spoonful of Sugar,” she brings unexpected changes to the house on Cherry Tree Lane.
Mary Poppins, along with the cheerful chimney sweep, Bert, takes the children on many magical adventures. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that, “Anything can happen if you let it.” With Mary and Bert leading the way, rejoice in beloved songs like “Super-cali-fragil-istic-expi-ali-docious,” “Chim Chim Cher-ee,” “Jolly Holiday,” and the iconic dance number “Step in Time” as we sweep you away in this exhilarating live theater experience for the whole family.
Summer 2015
“Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek...” And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who just wants to be left alone. But when the short-tempered Lord Farquaad banishes all the “imperfect” fairy tale characters from the kingdom, they descend on Shrek’s quiet swamp. Suddenly he finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess with a big secret. With the fate of the kingdom – and misfits everywhere – resting on his big, green shoulders, he must find a way to change the story.
Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, Shrek The Musical is a TONY Award-winning fairy tale adventure featuring all-new songs, a sidesplitting story and great dancing. Shrek brings all the beloved characters you know from the film to dazzling life on stage. Part romance, part twisted fairy tale and all irreverent fun for everyone – Shrek The Musical is a perfect summer outing for the whole family.
