He died of a heart attack on Tuesday, November 22, 1949 in his home in Beverly hills.

Though he died his work continued to screen

Hunters usually hunt at night to catch their prey off guard. They are often well adapted for tracking and usually strike the neck of the victim to cause it to panic. That split second allows it to take control and kill it.
