The AV Wall is maintained and traveled by an all-volunteer organization. It is one of only five traveling walls in the United States and the only one based on the West Coast. The AV Wall is an exact half-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. which is commemorating the 35- year anniversary of its dedication on November 13, 2017. The AV Wall is an engraved wall listing the names of the 58,318 military members who were killed in action or declared missing in action during the Vietnam War. Sunday, September 24, 2017 is National Gold Star Mother’s Day. It was created to recognize and honor those that have lost their son or daughter while serving our country and United States Armed Forces. We express our condolences to those mothers who have lost their child in military service to our country. Our next display will be November 8-13, 2017 at The Palmdale Amphitheater at Marie Kerr Park. For further information and upcoming display schedule, please visit www.avwall.org. The Mobile Vietnam Memorial Wall is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization.
