as Ajeenkya D. Y. Patil University in Lohgaon–Pune under

Ramrao Adik Education society

Ramrao Adik Education society is established in 1983 with the

object to promote the professional education, Health care and sports

facilities under the leadership of Dr. D.Y. Patil. In 1983 late Shri.

Vasantdada Patil then chief minister of Maharashtra state had taken a

bold decision to encourage private organization to establish

professional higher education courses. To support this policy Dr. D.Y.

Patil has initiated for professional courses. In the field of Engineering,

Medical, Dental, etc under Ramrao Adik Education society. In 2002

Ramrao Adik Education society has applied for the status of deemed

University to UGC. And obtained the status in the name of Dr. D. Y.

Patil University which is separately registered in 2006 in accordance

with the rules of UGC. Dr. D.Y. Patil Polytechnic Nerul Navi Mumbai

is the baby of Ramrao Adik Education society.

7. A student must carry identify card signed by the Principal and produce thesame whenever asked by the college authorities. Without identify card, studentswill not be allowed to enter the college premises and will be strictly dealt with.

8. A student is expected to read the notices put up on the notice board of thecollege. The college accepts no responsible for loss of any advantage bystudent due to his failure to read the notice in time.

9. In case, of leave, a student requires to take the prior permission of the Principal/ Class Teacher.

10. If any of the statement made in application form or any information supplied bythe student in connection with his/her admission is later on, at any time foundto be false or incorrect, his/her admission will be cancelled, fees forfeited andhe/she will be expelled from the college by the Principal and prosecuted byGovt., if deemed necessary.

11. A student shall not go to the press or any other publicity media without permissionof the Principal.

12. Any damage of the college property, apparatus, furniture, equipment, librarybooks, building etc. must be paid immediately by the students.

13. Students must attend social and national event organised by the college suchas 26th January, 1st May and 15th August and all other, declared nationalcelebrations.

14. A student will be bound by the rules and regulations framed by the college fromtime to time.

15. No student will be allowed to appear for the B.T.E. examination unless he/she haspaid all his/her dues and completed his/her journals and has satisfactory attendanceas per B.T.E. rules.

16. Parents are requested to confirm the attendance progress of studentsperiodically to ensure satisfactory compliance of all requirements of the coursealready defined.

17. Biometric attendance is being introduced for students. Scholarship / freeshipholder attendance will be verified by government.

❈❈❈❈❈ CODE OF CONDUCT :

1. Student should be regular and punctual in attending classes, tutorials and

submissions of the term-work in various subjects. A student shall be detained

and shall not be certified for examination if his progress, conduct and attendance

is not satisfactory.

2. Ragging of students in any form within or outside the College and Hostel is strictly

prohibited. Defaulters will be strictly dealt with as per Govt. instructions in this

matter.

3. Smoking, drinking (alcohol) and use of 'Drugs' is strictly prohibitedin the premises of the College and Hostel.

4. Bicycles, scooters and vehicles should be parked only in areasprovided for the purpose. The institute accepts no responsibility fortheir safe custody. Vehicles lodged elsewhere may be confiscated.

5. Any changes in the address of the student must be intimated by him in writing tothe college office immediately.

6. Students must use aprons and uniforms of prescribed pattern while working inWORKSHOP laboratories, Classroom.

The Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil Polytechnic does not allow ragging in its campusesincluding Hostels. We have anti-ragging Committees to monitor and prevent ragging. Thisis as per the guidelines of the D.T.E. Here is an extract from the report of the Committee toframe guidelines to curb the menace of 'ragging' in educational institutions.

Forms of Ragging

Ragging is found to take the following forms (the list is only indicative and not exhaustive)

Crisp orders :

• To address seniors as 'Sir'

• To perform mass drills

• To copy class notes for the seniors

• To serve various errands

• To do manual jobs for the seniors

• To ask / answer vulgar questions

• To look at pornographic pictures to shock the freshers out of their innocence.

• To force to drink alcohol, scalding tea, etc.

• To force to do acts with sexual overtones, including homosexual acts

• To force to do acts which can lead to physical injury / mental torture or death

• To strip, kiss, etc.

• To do other obscenities

❇❇❇❇❇ Punishments

The following could be the possible punishments for those who are

found guilty of participation in or abetment of ragging. 'The quantum of punishment

shall, natural, depend upon the nature and gravity of the

offence as established by the Disciplinary Committee or the Court of Law.

(vi) Breach of the policy for reservation in admission as may be applicable;

i) There shall be 15% seats reserved for the candidates taking Technical subjects asprescribed by the Board of Technical Examination, Maharashtra State for differentcourses and passing therein in the Secondary School Certificate Examination.

ii) For deciding the merit of such candidates the marks Secured by the candidates inthe SSC Examination without considering the marks scored by him in the TechnicalSubject(s) shall be considered.

iii) The seats reserved for these candidates shall have further reservation amongthemselves for the other categories mentioned in respective Rules.

(5) DEFENSE SERVICE PERSONAL (DSP) :

Maximum 5 seats in polytechnic are reserved for children of DSP.

Notes : The candidates must produce certificate of appropriate authority for reservations.

2) THE TYPES OF GRIEVANCES /COMPLAINTS

(i) Making admission contrary to merit determined in accordance with the declared

admission policy of the institute;

(ii) Irregularity in the admission process adopted by the institute;

(iii) Refusing admission in accordance with the declared admission policy of the

institute;

(iv) Withhold or refuse to return any document in the form of certificates of degree,

diploma or any other award or other document deposited with it by a person

for the purpose of seeking admission in such institution, with a view to induce

or compel such person to pay any fee or fees in respect of any course or

programme of study which such person does not intend to pursue;

(v) Demand of money in excess of that specified in the declared admission policy

or approved by the competent authority to be charged by such institution;

(vi) Breach of the policy for reservation in admission as may be applicable;

(vii) Complaints of alleged discrimination by students from Scheduled Caste,

Scheduled Tribes, OBC, women, minority or disabled categories;

(viii) Non payment or delay in payment of scholarships to any students that such

institution is committed, under the conditions imposed by AICTE, or by any

other authority;

(ix) Delay in conduct of examinations or declaration of results beyond that specified

in the academic calendar;

(x) On provision of student amenities as may have been promised or required to

be provided by the institution;

(xi) Denial of quality education as promised at the time of admission or required to

be provided;

(xii) Non transparent or unfair evaluation practices;

(xiii) Harassment and victimization of students including sexual harassment; and

(xiv) Refund of fees on withdrawal of admissions as per AICTE instructions from

time to time.

3) THE STUDENTS/PARENTS WHO ARE HAVING ANY COMPLIANT

REGARDING THE ABOVE GRIEVANCES SHOULD APPLY, IN WRITING, TO THE

PRINCIPAL OF POLYTECHNIC & OBTAINED THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FOR THE

The Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil Polytechnic does not allow ragging in its campusesincluding Hostels. We have anti-ragging Committees to monitor and prevent ragging. Thisis as per the guidelines of the D.T.E. Here is an extract from the report of the Committee toframe guidelines to curb the menace of 'ragging' in educational institutions.

Forms of Ragging

Ragging is found to take the following forms (the list is only indicative and not exhaustive)

Crisp orders :

• To address seniors as 'Sir'

• To perform mass drills

• To copy class notes for the seniors

• To serve various errands

• To do manual jobs for the seniors

• To ask / answer vulgar questions

• To look at pornographic pictures to shock the freshers out of their innocence.

• To force to drink alcohol, scalding tea, etc.

• To force to do acts with sexual overtones, including homosexual acts

• To force to do acts which can lead to physical injury / mental torture or death

• To strip, kiss, etc.

• To do other obscenities

❇❇❇❇❇ Punishments

The following could be the possible punishments for those who are

found guilty of participation in or abetment of ragging. 'The quantum of punishment

shall, natural, depend upon the nature and gravity of the

offence as established by the Disciplinary Committee or the Court of Law.

1 ) Cancellation of Admission

2) Suspension from attending classes.

❈❈❈❈❈ CODE OF CONDUCT :

1. Student should be regular and punctual in attending classes, tutorials and

submissions of the term-work in various subjects. A student shall be detained

and shall not be certified for examination if his progress, conduct and attendance

is not satisfactory.

2. Ragging of students in any form within or outside the College and Hostel is strictly

prohibited. Defaulters will be strictly dealt with as per Govt. instructions in this

matter.

3. Smoking, drinking (alcohol) and use of 'Drugs' is strictly prohibitedin the premises of the College and Hostel.

4. Bicycles, scooters and vehicles should be parked only in areasprovided for the purpose. The institute accepts no responsibility fortheir safe custody. Vehicles lodged elsewhere may be confiscated.

5. Any changes in the address of the student must be intimated by him in writing tothe college office immediately.

6. Students must use aprons and uniforms of prescribed pattern while working inWORKSHOP laboratories, Classroom.

Ramrao Adik Education society

Ramrao Adik Education society is established in 1983 with the

object to promote the professional education, Health care and sports

facilities under the leadership of Dr. D.Y. Patil. In 1983 late Shri.

Vasantdada Patil then chief minister of Maharashtra state had taken a

bold decision to encourage private organization to establish

professional higher education courses. To support this policy Dr. D.Y.

Patil has initiated for professional courses. In the field of Engineering,

Medical, Dental, etc under Ramrao Adik Education society. In 2002

Ramrao Adik Education society has applied for the status of deemed

University to UGC. And obtained the status in the name of Dr. D. Y.

Patil University which is separately registered in 2006 in accordance

with the rules of UGC. Dr. D.Y. Patil Polytechnic Nerul Navi Mumbai

is the baby of Ramrao Adik Education society.

7. A student must carry identify card signed by the Principal and produce thesame whenever asked by the college authorities. Without identify card, studentswill not be allowed to enter the college premises and will be strictly dealt with.

8. A student is expected to read the notices put up on the notice board of thecollege. The college accepts no responsible for loss of any advantage bystudent due to his failure to read the notice in time.

9. In case, of leave, a student requires to take the prior permission of the Principal/ Class Teacher.

10. If any of the statement made in application form or any information supplied bythe student in connection with his/her admission is later on, at any time foundto be false or incorrect, his/her admission will be cancelled, fees forfeited andhe/she will be expelled from the college by the Principal and prosecuted byGovt., if deemed necessary.

11. A student shall not go to the press or any other publicity media without permissionof the Principal.

12. Any damage of the college property, apparatus, furniture, equipment, librarybooks, building etc. must be paid immediately by the students.

13. Students must attend social and national event organised by the college suchas 26th January, 1st May and 15th August and all other, declared nationalcelebrations.

14. A student will be bound by the rules and regulations framed by the college fromtime to time.

15. No student will be allowed to appear for the B.T.E. examination unless he/she haspaid all his/her dues and completed his/her journals and has satisfactory attendanceas per B.T.E. rules.

16. Parents are requested to confirm the attendance progress of studentsperiodically to ensure satisfactory compliance of all requirements of the coursealready defined.

17. Biometric attendance is being introduced for students. Scholarship / freeshipholder attendance will be verified by government.

As on today there are three deemed universities in

Mumbai; Pune & Kolhapur and one private university named

as Ajeenkya D. Y. Patil University in Lohgaon–Pune under

the leadership of Dr. D. Y. Patil.
