The Messenger July 2020 Cumberland Plateau Baptist Association “The Cumberland Plateau Baptist Association is a network of Churches committed to evangelizing, teaching and ministering to our World.” “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heave n and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones of dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. And You, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.” Colossians 1:15-23 “God is my refuge and strength.” “God is my provider.” “God is my shield.” “God is my rock.” “God is my defender.” “God is my protector.” All of the above proclamations about God are true and can be found in His Word. I want to remind you of another statement about God that you can count on and that is, “God is in control.” In these uncertain, upside down times, remember that He’s got it all in His control. Nothing that has happened recently has caught God off guard. God is never surprised by the events of this world, tornadoes, riots, or even pandemics. He is in total control. I read an article recently of all the hardships that many churches in Chattanooga have faced in just a few short months. Like the rest of us, they have been hit by the Corona pandemic and the shutdown that followed. However, on Easter evening a tornado landed that cut a path one mile wide and nine miles long. Then, if all this were not enough, the racial unrest descended on parts of the city. However, the article revealed how many churches have been strengthened through this triple threat of problems. Why? They know the one that is in control over it all. God is in control. Maybe you need to be reminded of this. God is in control. As we used to sing, “He’s got the whole world in His hands.” I know you’re probably tired of all this Corona Virus pandemic stuff. There are most likely many things that folks are going through that others do not know about. Don’t lose faith. Be encouraged that God is in control! He’s got you and me sister, in His hands. He’s got you and me brother, in His hands. He’s got the whole world in His hands. Kirk

“The Cumberland Plateau Baptist Association is a network of Churches committed to evangelizing, teaching and

ministering to our World.”

“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones of dominions or principalities or powers. And You, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by

wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight – if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the

gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.”

Colossians 1:15-23

“God is my refuge and strength.”

“God is my provider.”

“God is my shield.”

“God is my rock.”

“God is my defender.”

“God is my protector.”

All of the above proclamations about God are true and can be found in His Word.
