Appalachian Mission Trip: We are planning an adult mission trip to Kentucky to work with Cedaridge Ministries, one of the organizations that makes up Appalachian Ministry, September 7-11. Ministry will include construction, working in the ministry’s thrift store, food distribution, and possible children’s ministry. Cost will be approximately $200 per person. We need a minimum of 8 people to go. Contact Katie if you are interested or have any questions. Operation Christmas Child: This month we will be collecting pencils, pencil sharpeners, Crayola crayons (other brands melt), pads of paper, small coloring books, and stickers. Items can be dropped off at the church office. Stop Hunger Now: Reserve the date! Stop Hunger Now will be Sunday, September 18 at 1 pm in the Youth Center. Next Missions Meeting: Wednesday, July 20, at 12:30 in the church library.

PUMC Ministerial Scholarships Awarded The PUMC Ministerial Scholarship for 2016 was awarded to Susan Beverly and John Grantham. Each received $1000 to help with expenses in their studies. Both are enrolled at Asbury Theological Seminary. Susan is assigned as a full-time local pastor to the Arlington UMC Charge. She has 35 years of experience in church music ministry and other church ministries. John is currently serving the Wynnton UMC in Columbus as associate pastor. John comes from a business background and was active in various laity positions before answering God’s call into full-time Christian service.
