The Marion G. Resch Science ScholarshipMeet the Resch Foundation
The Resch Foundation was established in 2000, in memory of the late Mrs. Marion G. Resch, an upstanding
member of the Mahoning Valley community and a philanthropist. During her life, Mrs. Resch always held education
in special regard. True to her legacy, the Resch Foundation is committed to promoting the education of young people
throughout the Mahoning Valley.
What is the Resch Science Scholarship?
Beginning in 2006, the Resch Science Scholarship Program at Thiel College has provided college funding
opportunities to young adults from the Mahoning Valley. The scholarships are awarded to high school students who
have shown both interest and promise in their academic performance in science and have made commendable efforts
in other subjects as well. The scholarship applies to students committed to earning a bachelor’s degree in biology,
chemistry, environmental science, neuroscience, communication sciences and disorders, or physics. Secondary
education majors with a concentration in the sciences also will be considered.
The scholarship provides partial tuition funds after all other possible scholarship, grants and other tuition reduction
programs have been applied.
