Aromatherapy uses plant materials and aromatic plant oils, includi
essential oils, and other aroma compounds for the purpose of altering
mood, cognitive, psychological or physical well-being . It can be offe
a complementary therapy or, more controversially, as form of alternmedicine. Complementary therapy can be offered alongside standar
treatment, with alternative medicine offered instead of convention
evidence-based treatments.Aromatherapists, who specialize in the p
of aromatherapy, utilize blends of therapeutic essential oils that can
issued through topical application, massage, inhalation or water
immersion to stimulate a desired response. There is no good medical
evidence that aromatherapy can either prevent or cure any disease
might help improve general well-being.t

CHASING
DREAMS
Performing on the local live circuit with some of the more
established acts such as 9th Soul, Diamond White and DTF,
MTP began to realize that there was more than just a passion
for studio produced music inside of him, he began to develop
a deep love and appreciation for live music, stageperformances and collaborations. He describes being on
stage as “having a platform to release the fire that burns
inside of you.”
Experimenting with a range of sounds and styles, MTP began
to develop different alter-egos. Most of these alternative
styles of music are a result of collaborations that developed
further. An example of one of these collaboration projects
would be MTP and Mr. Would who form the duo, Faceless.
Faceless is rumoured to be releasing their debut album titled
Voices on the 15th of March 2016.
Diverse as he might be, at his core MTP Afrika is an acoustichip hop rock artist whose catchy lyrics and rhythmic beats
satisfy a wide pallet.
In the midst of his own music making, Mark noticed his
collaborations and live shows were gathering around him a
musical family with a shared vision in search of new
platforms for musicians on the continent and beyond.
So how far are we prepared to carry this metaphor..? the
Prince on a spiritual and existential journey, the exile, the
move to a new land, the realization of a calling, the rallying o
a movement, evidently this particular rising star is continually
the rise, we eagerly await his next venture.N O M A D I C

andi gives credit to her dad for the path she has taken as a model , who even before she considered modelling wouldlways point her to the direction of watching fashion shows and tell her those programs were so her “probably because of
ense of style that was seemingly so different and for him it was always synonymous with models.”
Nandi Ngwenya
Why We Love...
andi started to participate In modelling competitions
s early as fourth grade though she didn't make it
nto the top four, that took a toll on her confidence as
model and decided to watch from the side line and
made her consider giving it all up
As time went by she started to gain interest in posing
or photos and started to do shoots just for fun and just
ke fate she reunited with an old friend of hers
Deborah Chuma who had very strong aspirations of
eing a designer, and as soon as she saw Nandi's
ictures she encouraged her to do shoots in some of
er designs, But still nandi was reluctant and instead
ncouraged Debbie to use other models.
ventually, driven by a passion within her, she really
wanted a professional shoot just for herself and was
reatly inspired by the works of Enoch Kavindele Jr,
nd was compelled to contact him through Facebook,
noch had a look at Nandi's pictures and undoubtedly
aw a potential model and agreed do a shoot with her
pon his return from South Africa and that kicked
tarted her career as a model.
“Eish, modelling requires a lot of time, hard
work and commitment. In this industry, it's not
about who you know but what you can deliver an
the uniqueness you bring to the table that sellsyou as a model”
And what exactly does it take to be a model?
And what exactly inspired her? “Honestly, i watched
ll seasons of America's next top model and Tyra
anks inspired me and taught me to be vibrant and
erce in front of the camera. She's inspired me and I
ave learnt a lot about the dos and don't s in
modelling“...we aren't surprised. All you have to do is
ake a look at her pictures and all you see is passion, love for what she does, and she doesn't just model
he is a skilled actor too!! Nandi featured in the hit
elevision series Fever . Uhmm....
We all need support, whether from friends or family
eople holding you down are an essential part of our
ves and Nandi says her biggest cheerleaders were
er parents and says “they believed in me even more
han i believed in me” And her friends knew she was
ood and could do it. *with that kind of support, who
as time to care about a hater?*
With shoots lasting the whole day the only thing that keeps you
going is love for what you do. So its not just looking pretty in
pictures “walking in heels or standing in heels during fashion sh
can be tiring and changing from one designers outfit to the oth
also another hectic part of being a model, but overall, it's a bus
but also interesting.”
Everything has its pros and its cons, the best part of being a m
to Nandi is being able to inspire someone “there's nothing betthan hearing someone say that they are inspired by you” She s
that gives you a drive to want to be better and better. And the c
“Ummmm the worst part for me is being misjudged by people,
people misinterpret models as being wild and promiscuous.” *d
be judgy.....
Everyone is unique in one way or another and in an industry w
a picture defines your uniqueness Nandi's ability to constantly
challenge herself and always push herself to the limit brings ou
uniqueness in her “am my own best competition and that help
bring out uniqueness that no one else possesses..”

he story evokes a mixture of emotions as love, lust,
trayal and revenge are the central themes of a tale that
aves you on the edge of your seat as it slowly unraveles.
s dark secrets and skeletons in the closet threaten to
ng chaos into what seems to be a rosey family, will love
evail or is vengeance the only medicine for the pain of
trayal? one can only stand and be amazed at thealities of the dilemmas families face everyday.
he Mainstream went behind the scenes And caught up
th the director Becky Ngoma and story originator or
eator of the story Charles Chitundu.
Fever is a story of an elite family

oblems families face."
e excellent execution of each scene by the actors
aves you drawn and attatched to the characters
d torn between giving all the credit to the actors

ent and intelligence.
Becky attributes the success of Fever to team work and
inclusiveness and strongly believes that dictation is
limitation. In her opinion directing shouldn't be one side
but an ongoing reciprocal process where the actors lea
from her and she learns from them.it's of no surprise
therefore that every person on set adds their own perso
creative touch to the spine tingling, nail biting television
series. one very interesting character is a
troubled young girl, Mwaka. This

Mr Charles Chitundu further added that "the movie is
specifically relatable because every family has skeletons but
they may not be painted in the same way."
When asked about how the aspect of an evolved Zambiacame into play Becky Ngoma responded saying"we were
aiming to step away from the typical Zambian movie setting
which usually highlights life in the gettle, poverty and
suffering by showing that there is more to Zambian life than
poverty, there are people who work hard and live good
lives." Certainly these notions that made up the foundation
on which the movie was built make Fever stand out even
more because its not just something fictional but is real and
part of a bigger conversation.
So clearly, here's something different, something that we can relate to in terms of its closeness to home, but it also
successfully show the diversification and evolution of the Zambian culture and approaches to family.
Granted, Fever is a movie that will not only keep you on
edge of your seat but this story of love, revenge, lust
secretes and betrayal will also leave you completely
hooked. It would be clever of us to say that this febrifaci
tale full of twists and turns will have you becoming a
febricant desperate for a new febrifuge faster than you c
say "fever". You have not seen the best of Zambian
television if you have not seen Fever.t
Its Definitely a fever worth catchi

t might sound crazy but what actually kicked off her career was a favour for a friend "I was asked to be part of a photo-sh
by Mwande mwelwa who is not only a designer but happens to be more like an older sister to me." And as obvious as it
might be, it was love at first sight. And quite frankly we arent surprised, with the perfect height(Which she attributes to he
mother) and an unapologetic beauty, its a path challenge taken on with a burning passion.
d we never would have guessed it, we all know every

welwa of Ushi Fabrics who she desribed as "very creatived has fashionable designs"....

We are interested in your thoughts on how modern day female celebrities who are actually the biggest public figures
portray themselves. Do you think they have a positive impact on the girl child? Who is the best example of a good
Female public figure and why?
In a perfect world, I think entertainers, artists, and all creators would be known only for their work. Then perhaps there
wouldn’t be such a need for celebrities to distract us from whatever their skill is. In a perfect world, celebrities wouldn’t
have as much public influence as they do. But alas, here we are in this abyss of imperfection which we call, “the world.
Celebrities have as much power as we give them and we give them a lot without asking for much in return.
The truth is if the majority of the public wanted something better from our celebrity culture, we would have it. So if we’re
going to claim that celebrities owe a certain responsibility to the public, it would do you and I some good to first take a
long, hard look in the mirror; to ensure that we are not part of the problem. And to be certain that we’re doing our jobs
too as parents, older siblings, and role models to young girls and boys, some of whom we unequivocally have a
responsibility,no wonder as gu our mantra is be the change you want to see it all starts with us,well a good public figure
would be madam linda chishimba kasonde who is currently the law association of zambia vice president, looking at all
her qualifications its a challenge and inspiration to all the girls out there and her being a female with such a portfolio
Personally how do you view the world and what would you like to contribute to it?I view the world as a place with great opportunities, and room for great development if we all just took a stand and work
towards what we want to see this world as,I will obviously contribute positively to the world by being
courageous,brilliant,overzealous,kind and God fearing
