Hello all! Welcome to our first meeting for November. I do hope you had an enjoy-able Halloween, and found some time to commemorate what we locally call “undas.” Most of you are also back from your trips, and I do hope they were fun. It was another busy two weeks for the district and for our club. The Zone 8 project “YamanSaJardin” was officially begun last October 25, with a workshop conducted and seedlings distributed by RC Manpasan, the lead club of the project. I was there with our beneficiaries from JRU as we are turning it into a school-based endeavor, while Rtn. Rommel was there with his associates to see how this technology could be implemented on
his farm. Meanwhile, our DRAP Global grant project is off to a great start. You will recall that Robert and Jen spoke to us about our Red Cross partnership; this was followed by a courtesy call to Mayor Abalos on Monday, November 4, wherein we successfully obtained the Mayor’s endorsement. Further, seven Zone 8 clubs have agreed to participate, so it looks like our project is well underway. PP Herman and PP Mark have been busy planning and organizing the District’s interact youth event, which will be held on November 8th. Our club is sending 45 delegates and the committee is expect-ing over a thousand delegates. Details of the event are found in the pages of this issue. Great job PP Herman and PP Mark! PE John and PP Albert have been putting the finishing touches on our School Based Livelihood Program, which is now officially called the MPNAG Culinary Center. We are a bit delayed, but hope to have the center inaugurated in January, when RC Kowloon Golden Mile comes to visit. Speaking of visit, a delegation from RC Jeonju-Poongnam from Korea will be visiting us on Novem-ber 22nd. Details to follow, but please save the date! They have been great supporters of our pro-jects, and it would be good to show them our hospitality. Lastly, at our board meeting held yesterday, our club committed to support several district initiatives, details of which can be found further on in this issue. We have a PWD vision screening on Novem-ber 12, a Rotary Zone medial mission and Job fair on November 15, and the Zone Rotary Day/Fun Run on November 16. If you do want to include your company in the Job Fair, please contact the secretariat or myself. That’s all the space I have here but we do have a lot going on as we strive to “LIGHT UP RO-TARY.” Keep in step by checking http://bit.ly/rcmanda for our facebook page, http://bit.ly/rcmcalendar for our calendar, or http://bit.ly/rcmmagfor our Magdalo issues. Cheers!

Greetings to my fellow Rotarians! We took a break from our regular meetinglast week in observance of the All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day weekend. Hope you had a good respite from your usual rou-tine. For those who were away on travel, we wel-come you back. We are glad that you are able to join ustoday for our weekly meeting here in EDSA
SHANGRILA HOTEL. NOVEMBER promises to be a busy month for both our Club and the District. A preview of the activities are on pages 19 and 20 of this issue of the Magdalo. Special mention is the Youth Expo 2014 to be held tomorrow at OLOPSC Marikina from 1130 AM to 5 PM. A group of us are planning to attend this event to support PP Herman. Hope you can take time to join us. Another noteworthy activity is the Rotary Courtesy Call to Mayor Ben-hurAbalos on Tuesday, the 11th of November 2014. Nothing like dis-cussing the future of our City and having a snapshot beside the Local Chief Executive. Make sure you mark your calendar for our RC Mandaluyong Christmas Party on Saturday, 6 December 2014. Venue to be announced. Looking forward to attending my first RC Mandaluyong Christmas Party and spreading some holiday cheer! Looking way ahead, the 2015 Rotary International Convention is hap-pening in Sao Paolo, Brazil from Saturday, 6 June – Tuesday 9. Dead-line 1 in order to get the $325 on registration is 15 December 2014. Otherwise, price increases to $375. As they say, the early bird catches the worm. Until next time.

A pleasant good afternoon to our fellow members. With the line up of different projects and activities
announced during our board meeting last night at the board room of JRU, Pres. Gion assures us that this coming weeks will be super busy for our club.
Participation of all members are welcome. The Youth Camp under the brainchild of PP Herman this coming Saturday deserves special men-tion because of the grand scale of this project. Am very sure with the support of all of us, this will be another super successful project of our club this Rotary year. Even though some of these projects are district originated, our club is expected to contribute financially to ensure the smooth sailing of them. Total receivables of club dues as of this week still amounts to more than P 300,000.00. It might be an oversight on the part of our members to settle their dues on time. In this regard, your club treasurer step up his effort to follow up on overdue accounts. It is hoped that all fellow members will understand the important of their obligations, and will cooperate accordingly. After all, our club will only be strong when we have enough financial strength. As your club treasurer this year, it is my duty to remind every member to contribute early so as to ensure the smooth operation of our club on a daily basis, as well as the timely completion of our various projects. As Rotarians, I believe that we are all committed to making our club one of the best in our district, if not the best.

When I Fall In Love
When I fall in love it will be forever
Or I'll never fall in love
In a restless world
like this is
Love is ended before it's begun
And too many moonlight kisses
Seem to cool in the warmth of the sun
When I give my heart it will be completely
Or I'll never give my heart
And the moment I can feel that you feel that way too
Is when I fall in love with you.
And the moment I can feel that you feel that way too
Is when I fall in love with you.
