Audi A6USED-CARS
With a beautiful interior,
powerful engine options and
engaging handling, most
motor journalists agree the
Audi A6 offers one of the
best driving experiences in
its class.
The Audi A6 comes standard
with a turbocharged four-
cylinder engine. While most
reviewers are impressed with
its great fuel economy, the
majority prefer the engines
available in higher trims,
such as the supercharged
V6, which they say is very
powerful, and the
turbocharged diesel V6,
which they agree provides
strong acceleration and
excellent fuel economy.
The A6 comes standard with a continuously variable
transmission (CVT), but reviewers prefer the optional
eight-speed automatic, which provides quick, smooth
shifts.
The base 2014 Audi A6 gets an estimated 9.5/7.1 litres
per 100 kmh city/highway, which is very good for a luxury
large car, while the diesel-powered A6 TDI gets an
excellent 9.8/6.2 litres per 100 kmh.
Test drivers say the 2014 A6 provides one of the most
appealing driving experiences in the class because it has
the smooth ride of a comfort-oriented car like the
Mercedes-Benz E-Class and the athletic handling of a
sporty car like the BMW 5-Series.
Test drivers write that the A6 has one of the best interiors
in the class, with top-notch build quality, first-rate materials
and a beautiful design. Their praise extends to the front
seats, which test drivers think are comfortable.
The 2014 Audi A6
comes standard
with leather
upholstery, heated,
power-adjustable
front seats, a
sunroof, tri-zone
automatic climate
control, a 10-
speaker audio
system, Bluetooth
phone connectivity,
satellite radio, an
iPod interface and
Audi’s MMI
infotainment
system.
Several reviewers
say the rear seats are
comfortable as well,
though some wish
they offered more
thigh support. Critics
write that the
‘infotainment system’
which controls many
audio, climate and
navigation settings, is
intuitive. However,
some of them think it
still isn’t as easy to
use as the
infotainment system
in BMW and
Mercedes-Benz
vehicles.
