Welcome!

Big Canoe Chapel is a multi-denominational congregation united in our faith in Jesus Christ as Lord. The Chapel gladly welcomes anyone desiring to become a regular, asso-ciate, or fellowship member.

CCLI 1765908

This morning we join with millions of Christians around the world in receiving the sacrament of Holy Communion. It is my hope that the prayer offered by Jesus in John 17 will be realized by every body of believers. As you worship today, remember this prayer of our Lord,

“May they also be in us so that the world may believe you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they maybe one as we are one. I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”

Have you considered how you can be an answer to this prayer of Jesus? Shall we sow the seeds of peace, unity, and love? Shall we affirm the faith expressions of Christians regardless of race, language, or culture? Will we faithfully pray for persecuted Christians around the world? Perhaps as we receive the sacra-ment today we will renew our commitment to be the instruments of peace and unity.

A song I remember from many years ago expresses a timeless truth, “They will know we are Christians by our love.” The re-membrance of God’s love in the bread and cup can be a renewing power in each one of us. Just as Jesus loved us we are called to love one another. It is certainly a miracle of grace. But like any gift that is offered, it must be received. Let’s receive it by faith today and go out into the world as the reflection of the Father’s love.

So that the world may know,

Len
