The Central Coast Mariners Official Supporters Club (CCMOSC) was set up in conjunction with the Central Coast Mariners to provide a visible avenue for fans to engage with the Club. Here they ask one of their Members, plus Mariners fans and volunteer, Erin Morrow a few questions.
How long have you been a Mariners fan?Since before the A-League started. When the first announcement was made that there would be a team in the A-League from the Central Coast, my brother and I straight away agreed to get ourselves a foundation family Membership and we’re proud to be among the first 200 members. We included my two daughters (nine and 12 at the time) and my nephew (six at the time). We were there for the first game at Central Coast Stadium – an Oceania World Club Championship qualifier against Newcastle Jets, and we have never looked back. My two girls are now adults and one remains a Member. My nephew is also still a Member and we love it more and more each year.
Who is your favourite Mariners player? Right now it would be Nick Montgomery. The guy is a class player but at the same time he personifies the strength, commitment and character that is synonymous with our Club’s history. He’s never too busy for a chat the few times I have run into him at our Club events.
Best thing about being a Member of the CCMOSC?The best thing about being a Member of the CCMOSC is knowing Members are having their say with the Club, improving the match day entertainment and atmosphere week by week and helping to embed the Club into the local psyche.
OFFICIAL SUPPORTERS CLUB UPDATE
Last Sunday Central Coast Mariners announced an historic agreement with Northbridge FC, Australia’s largest community football club, to establish a youth development academy on Sydney’s North Shore. As a result of the agreement, Central Coast Mariners will substantially extend their youth development footprint via its new North Shore Mariners Academy.
The North Shore Mariners Academy will be administered by Northbridge FC, and will provide kids from Skills Acquisition Program (SAP) through to senior ranks in men’s and women’s competitions the opportunity to represent the 2013 Hyundai A-League Champions.
The Club’s collaboration with Northbridge FC, in addition to planned formal development agreements with Central Coast Football and Western NSW Football, would mean that the Mariners would be able to draw from approximately 75,000 registered male and female footballers in its catchment areas.
As such, the prospects for the Club to not only recruit some of the state’s best talent for its high-level pathways, but also increase its fan base, membership levels and promote interest in the club and the Hyundai A-League is enormous.
CENTRAL COAST MARINERS ANNOUNCE NORTHBRIDGE FC PARTNERSHIP
Northbridge FC is recognised as a model Football Federation Australia club, building the future through youth development and community connection. Its ultimate objective is to play a leading role in the youth development in Australian football through assisting its player to develop skills, technique and game awareness so they have the ability to achieve their full potential, and ultimately represent Australia’s senior national teams.

Central Coast Mariners Chairman & Owner Michael Charlesworth with an ambitious Northbridge FC player
CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE STAGE TWO UNDERWAY!Work on Stage Two of the Central Coast Mariners Centre of Excellence is officially underway after Club Chairman and Owner, Mr Michael Charlesworth, ceremonially began the removal of the old Tuggerah RSL building last Friday.
Charlesworth was joined by Federal Member for Dobell, Karen McNamara, site architect Greg Smith from MSK Group, Deputy Mayor of Wyong Shire Council, Councillor Lynne Webster, plus Club staff and players as the demolition to make way for a modern, six-story office block housing – among many businesses – the Mariners’ administrative department began.
The block will also feature a childcare centre, cafe and gym, and the remaining space will be available to be tenanted by local, national and international businesses and business people.
In fact, already 70 per cent of the six-storey office block has been leased or has an exercisable option to be leased by an array of companies or individuals.
In addition to the office block, the new business precinct will boast a number of on-site inclusions and nearby services including an expansive Medical Centre, all weather and grass sporting fields, plus the Club’s recently completed Aquatic Centre managed by YMCA.
“Our vision is to turn the site into the business and sporting hub on the Central Coast,” Mr Charlesworth said. “With the future planned development of a hotel and an extensive hospitality and function precinct, there will be no better location on the Coast to do business.”

PLAYER TO PRESSURE:#9 ANDY KEOGH
Republic of Ireland representative Andy Keogh was announced as Perth Glory’s international marquee for season 10 of the Hyundai A-League in late May. Keogh made his name at a host of English clubs playing at his peak for Wolverhampton Wanderers in the English Premier League. After tasting the heights of the game in the UK, Keogh opted for a change of pace overseas in signing for the Glory. He wasted no time in showing off his immense talents in Glory’s friendly match against Spanish top-flight side Malaga in July, netting in the 1-1 draw. With four goals in four appearances to start Hyundai
PLAYER TO PRAISE:#12 LIAM REDDY
Liam Reddy, or ‘Rocket’ as he is affectionally known, will have to be at his best today to stop Glory’s attack, most likely including their marquee man, Andy Keogh. Keogh already has four goals to his name in the Hyundai A-League this season, and poses as one Glory’s key dangers this afternoon.
Rocket returns to the matchday squad after missing last weekend’s loss to Sydney FC due to a side-strain. Matt Nash capably deputised for Reddy in the New South Wales capital, however the 2014 Mariners Medalist Reddy has been reinstated after his week off due to injury.
Liam Reddy said he almost lost his love for football after parting ways with Sydney FC in 2012, however the big man
has become a fan favourite at the Mariners since he was given an opportunity to resurrect his professional playing career in Gosford. Reddy secured nine clean sheets in last year’s Hyundai A-League, and wants his second of the season today against the purple-whites! – Ben Ingram
20 lucky The Loose Cannon readers have scored a signed Liam Reddy player card thanks to Shooting Star Sports Cards this afternoon. If you’re one of our 20 make sure you send a snap of yourself with the card to @CCMariners on Twitter, or e-mail your picture to [email protected].
