    Publishers Preface

If only, all Shepherds Rod believers will recognize the absolute fact,

That we cannot be led into all Truth without the gift of the Spirit of

Prophecy (1 TG 14:17), they will spurn every new claimant to truth and

toss the message into the discard because it comes through an unexpected

    channel. (1 TR 3)

There are many today, think that they could be able to discover hidden

truths in the Bible by through deep study and research (2 TG 41:7). In spite

of the fact, that the SROD absolutely declared Moreover, John 14:26 does

not say that we can, of ourselves, discover the hidden truths of the Bible, but,

on the contrary, that we should wait for the Spirit of Truth to come to teach

us, which teaching is called Inspiration. (2 SC 12:6)

The following quotation plainly shows that only Inspiration (a man

called of God), can declare that Truth and nothing but the truth (2 SC 3,

4:13). Plainly, then, whatever things Inspiration Itself does not teach and

interpret, are not worth remembering, teaching or even listening to. (15 TR

    31, 32)

Why? For whatever doctrines and interpretations which did not come

through Inspiration were only devisings of men (1 TG 4:20). Therefore,

brethren for your own lifes sake, forever cease from all uninspired menLet the Lord alone be your guide and Inspiration your only teacher ( 1 TR

    Dear Brothers and Sisters;

Since it now is clear as sunlight that the ever-unfolding, Inspiredinterpretation of the Scriptures is the ever-living Spirit of Prophecy, the eyes

of the church at work (1 Sam. 9:9), then to be without these spiritual eyes is

to try to walk, as it were, in dense darkness. (2 TG45:8)

Brethren, it is high time now to realized, that we as finite men does notknow how to direct our own steps, according to Jer. 10:23. Someone else

must direct us, if we want to go in the right direction (2 TG 26:13). There

is no doubt, the Church from creation till today has been led and preserved bythe prophets, and she can continue in no other way from here on. (2 TG

    26:23)

From the light now streaming forth on this subject, you can see, Brethren,

as never before, that we have come to lifes most serious hour, a time in

which we can no longer treat this matter lightly and indifferently, but in which

we must ask God to lead us into His Truth for this time, lest we blindly

(without Inspiration) walk on to doom. (GCS 42)

    Yours in Christ Jesus,

THE LITERAL AND SPIRITUAL ISRAEL(Special Edition)

Since our God is not the author of confusion (1 Cor. 14:33), the

statement Symbolical or Literal Which? (5 TR 26), plainly shows that

God doesnt mixes up a thing, that even in nature we might logically

conclude that not all fruits should be mixed with all vegetables (EW pg. 35).

Obviously therefore, if Inspiration declared literal Israel it must be purely

made up of literal Israel, as well as with the Spiritual Israel.

Now, let us read2 TG 4:14 Here we are plainly told that the two ancient kingdoms, the

types, He is to restore and join -- and so bring out the antitype. (2 TG 4:14)

Inspiration declared: These types were fulfilled, not only as to the event,

but as to the time (GC 399). Obviously therefore, the type and antitype

should exactly fits (3 Ans. 23), and perfectly matched both in time andobjective (1 SR p.e. 73). We thereby safely conclude, that if the type are

Israelites the antitype as well must be Israelites, and if the type are resurrectedsaints the

    4.

    - antitype as well must be resurrected saints as well as to the living saints.

The SROD plainly told us that the two ancient kingdoms are types, in which

Gods law of type that where there is type, there must also be antitype. (9

    TR 72)

2 TG 43:24 Here you see that not only will God cleanse His church

(Judah and Israel) by taking away all those who pollute His house of prayer,

but that afterwards He will gather into His purified church all the dispersed

who have descended from both the Kingdom of Israel (the ten tribes) and ofthe Kingdom of Judah (the two tribes) -- all who are now out among the

nations, not in the church of the Laodiceans. He will make them one nation,

over which, prior to the Millennium, shall rule antitypical David, their king.No more shall they be annoyed by the heathen; no more shall they be among

the sinners; no more shall they be fed by a multitude of shepherds, but only

    by one--

by Gods appointed shepherd. Great, indeed, shall be the day ofJezreel! His efforts and the efforts of his co-workers, the laity, shall succeed

whether the mother (the ministry) hears or forbears. (2 TG 43:24)

There are two 12 tribes mentioned in this reading. First, Judah and Israel

within the Laodicean church, and second Judah and Israel who are now out

    among the

    .5

    - nations, not in the church of the Laodiceans. From the weighty evidences

here amassed, there is manifestly but one conclusion possible, without doing

any injury to the Scriptures, that there must typical living saints the 12

tribes literal Israel, and the antitypical living saints the 12 tribes SpiritualIsrael.

Now, let us read1 TG 19:3, 4 In view of the fact that Jerusalem is to be protected by awall of fire (Zech. 2:5) while the house of Judah reigns there, it is definite that

the battle here described must be fought before the house of Judah is

established. In that battle the nations will defeat the rulers of the PromisedLand. Then it is that the house of Judah commences to be set up.

As the warring nations besiege the city, and rifle the houses, also ravishthe women, they are by no means righteous nations, but since not all the

inhabitants go into captivity, and since all are not cut off from the city, it must

be that the wicked are taken away and the righteous left in to join the house of

    Judah. (1 TG 19:3, 4)

Inspiration declared clearly, that it is definite that the battle here describedmust be fought before

    6.

  • 8/22/2019 The Literal and the Spiritual Israel (Special Edition)

    7/45

    - the house of Judah is established. Then obvious it is the righteous left in the

promised land during that war could not be the Spiritual Israel, but rather the

literal Jews.Let us read8 TR 83, 84 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God

forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to

provoke them to jealousy. Now ifthe fallof them be the riches of the world,

and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their

fullness? For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of theGentiles, I magnify mine office: if by any means I may provoke to emulation

them which are my flesh, and might save some of them. For if the casting

away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving ofthem be, but life from the dead? For if the firstfruit [the Jew] be holy, the

lump [Jew and Gentile] is also holy: and if the root [the Jew] be holy, so are

the branches [whether they be original or grafted in]. And if some of thebranches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree [the Gentile tree],

wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness

of the [good] olive tree; boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou

[Gentile] bearest not the root, but the root [the Jew] thee. Thou wilt say then,

    -

    - The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in. Well; because of

unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. (8 TR 83, 84)

The Bible and the SROD made it so plain, that the root of the family treeis the literal Jew.Let us read

1 TG 31:3 Here is a family tree in which three persons are introduced.

This verse does not say whom the rod represents; it does not say whom the

Branch represents; but it does say that the stem is Jesse, the father of kingDavid. The rod, of course, which came out of the stem, could be none other

than the son of Jesse -- David, the king of ancient Israel. The verses following

this verse explain that the Branch is the Lord Himself. Clearly, then, thisfamily tree represents Jesse, David, and Christ. (1 TG31:3)

Logically, the root came first, before the stem, the rod and the branch cameout (2 TG 45:3). And since the SROD made it so plain that the nucleus of the

kingdom on its infancy is the 144,000 living saints spiritual Israel (2 TG

46:31), plainly indicates the period of time by which such mustard tree

commence to sprout from the ground so to speak. And since the SROD

plainly told us, that it is the 144,000 living saints spiritual Israel that will

    - stand on Mt. Zion with the Lamb, there is no escaping the conclusion, that

in the New Division of the Land (12 TR 48), the place by which the

righteous (the literal Jews) are left (1 TG 19:4), must be elsewhere.

Now, let us read1 TG 16:22, 23 THE EXODUS OF TODAY

This afternoon we shall study Zechariah 8. The first thing we need toknow in the study of this chapter is whether its promises are made to the

people of Zechariahs time or to the people of our time. To find this out, it is

necessary for us to read a few scattered verses. We shall begin with

Zechariah 8:7, 8 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Behold, I will save My

people from the east country, and from the west country; and I will bringthem, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be My

people, and I will be their God, in Truth and in righteousness.

In these verses we see that God is promising to save His people not from

the land of ancient Babylon, where Zechariah then was, but from the east and

from the west, and to bring them to Jerusalem.

    .9

  • 8/22/2019 The Literal and the Spiritual Israel (Special Edition)

    10/45

    - They are to be His people, not by virtue of their ancestry, or by some other,

but in Truth and righteousness. Now, since the promise in these verses did not

meet its fulfillment in Zechariahs day, nor at any time thereafter, it stands to

reason that it must meet its fulfillment sometime in the future. Let us read

Zechariah 8:13 And it shall come to pass, that as ye were a curse

among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you,

and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, but let your hands be strong. (1 TG

    16:22, 23)

The statement Besides promising to save His people from the east and

from the west, the Lord promises to save also the house of Judah and thehouse of Israel, both of the ancient kingdoms, plainly shows that Gods

people to be saved from the east and the west and the literal 12 tribes are two

    different people.Inspiration declared:

1 TG 10:25 The prophets attention was directed to a time when the

Lord is to gather His people from both the east and the west; to a time when

one citys inhabitants will invite anothers to go to the Holy Land.

    10

    11/45

    - This same prophecy appears in both Isaiahs chapter two, and Micahs

    chapter four. (1 TG 10:25)

1 TG 15:10 The 144,000 descendants of Jacob, whose fathers wereassimilated by the Gentile nations and who thus down through the centuries

lost their racial identity, are the first fruits, the first to be gathered unto Judah.

They are those who stand on Mount Zion with the Lamb. Rev. 14:1. The

faithful descendants of the Jews who composed the early Christian church,

and who also lost their national identity by naming themselves Christians(Acts 11:26), are also to be gathered from everywhere and brought unto

    Judah. (1 TG 15:10)

The 144,000 spiritual Israel, the first fruits of the living is the first to be

gathered unto Judah, according to our reading. Obviously therefore this Judah

must be the literal Jew, the root of the kingdom (8 TR 83), the righteous thatare left during the war at the time it did resume there must be 12,000 literal

    Judah, remain therein.

Now let us read9 TR 56 TO GATHER A CLASS DEFILED WITH WOMEN, A SECOND

    FRUITS.

    11

  • 8/22/2019 The Literal and the Spiritual Israel (Special Edition)

    12/45

This class of saints must be those who have at one time been married to

some unchristian mistress, a heathen church, and who consequently are not

descendants of either Jacob or the Christian church. So there are to be two

    harvests--

one from the church and one from the world: the record of theformer, mentions only Israelites, the 144,000, those not defiled with women,

though it does not say that there may not be others; while the record of the

latter, however, definitely embraces a great multitude from all nations,

which must necessarily be both of undefiled and defiled ones -- Jews and

    Gentiles. (9TR 56)

This reading definitely implied, that this undefiled ones besides the

144,000 spiritual Israel, must be the literal 12 tribes. For it sounds illogical todeclare that the Gentiles can be called as the undefiled ones. Thus by

Scripture and by logic of facts we are carried to the peak of evidence, that

there must be two 144,000 living saints which both of them must be first-fruits the literal and Spiritual Israel.

Now, let us read2 SR 233, 234THE LAST FIRST AND THE FIRST LAST

    13/45

Coming back to our text: A measure of wheat for a penny, and three

measures of barley for a penny. (Rev. 6:6.) Why is the wheat mentioned first,

and the barley last? Why not the reverse? Why three times as much barley for

a penny to one of wheat? Or why not the reverse? The Scriptures are perfectand no flaw can be found in them. Therefore, there must be a reason for this

order of arrangement, as well as for the quantity of each cereal. Barley ripens

much earlier than wheat. Therefore, those hired first must be represented by

the barley, otherwise the symbol could not be perfect. The barley, then,

represents the Jewish nation, as they were hired first. Naturally the wheatmust represent the ones called at the eleventh hour. It is marvelous how

perfect the Scriptures are. (2 SR 233, 234)

Our reading definitely declared, that the one called at the 11 th hour must

represented by the wheat. The wheat represents the 144,000 (1 SR 228)

spiritual Israel the one called at the 11th

hour. But the literal 12 tribes the onecalled early in the morning is represented by the barley according to

Inspiration. Obviously therefore, the spiritual Israel 144,000 living first fruits

is represented by the wheat, whereas the literal Israel 144,000 living first

fruits is represented by Barley. But since, there can be no first, if there can be

no second we need to ascertain clearly the -

    - second fruits of each. (To have more definiteunderstanding, please read our

pamphlets THE CEREMONIAL HARVEST, THE WAVE SHEAF AND THE

WAVE-LOAVES and also THE HEAVENLY AND THE EARTHLY SANCTUARY

    CONSTRUCTION AND SERVICES)

Revelation 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no

man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues,

stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and

    palms in their hands;

The statement of all nations and kindreds, and people and tongues,

definitely shows that there must be a constituent of the great multitude thatdescended from the blood of the literal and spiritual Israel, otherwise it can

never be called of all nations. Inspiration declared: the time when the

Lord is gathering the second fruits from the east and from the west (2TG 46:35, 36), clearly shows, that these people which taken out from the east

and the west are the second fruits of the wheat (144,000 spiritual Israel), and

the barley the (144,000 literal Israel).

    Now, let us read

    15/45

1 TG 47:15 Jacob, our type, well knew that God had directed his return

from Padanaram to the homeland, yet he trembled when he heard that Esau,

with four hundred men were on the way to meet him. Besides, he was led to

wrestle with the angel all night long. He prevailed only because he would notlet the Angel go until He blest him. The final result was that on the morrow,

Esau, rather than destroying the whole company, very kindly greeted Jacob

with a kiss, and cordially invited him to return home! So when it all worked

itself out, Jacob plainly saw that there was no need at all to have ever feared.

How encouraging that all these things happened unto them for ensamples:and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are

come. 1 Cor. 10:11. That which happened to Jacob is sure to happen to us,

and how comforting to know all this ahead of time. Now, if never before weshould see that where there is a type there is also an antitype, and that where

there is no type, there is no Truth. (1 TG 47:15)

The statement from Padanaram to the homeland, plainly shows that

antitypical Padanaram must be the gathering place of Gods people prior to

    the kingdom.

    Let us read

    15

    16/45

1 SC 16:5 The tract of land on which Mt. Carmel Center stands was

purchased last April and is to be used in the work of carrying the sealing

message in the ingathering of the 144,000 -- the firstfruits and, it may be

also used for the ingathering of the great multitude--

the second fruits, andfor caring for the worthy poor, aged, and disabled who have not only accepted

the message of the True Witness to the Laodiceans, but who are also walking

in its penetrating light as revealed by the SRod. (1 SC 16:5)

3 SC 11, 12:2 Is it true, says another, that the adherents of TheShepherds Rod are expecting their number to increase so enormously that in

the near future they will be able to take by force all the S.D.A denominational

institutions? Everyone who is well informed in the message that Mt. Carmelis proclaiming, knows, that Mt. Carmel is in no way endeavoring to take any

institutions, but rather is endeavoring to bring about that reformatory

movement long-foretold by Sister White in Testimonies for the Church,

Vol. 9, p.126. However, it is true that we expect a 144,000 members from

the S.D.A denomination to join us, after which a great multitude from every

nation, kindred, tongue, and people is to swell our membership so greatly that

    no man could number it.

    16

  • 8/22/2019 The Literal and the Spiritual Israel (Special Edition)

    17/45

    - It is also true that all the institutions owned and controlled by the SDA

denomination are a part of our Fathers house, and that our being S.D.A.s

also, the institutions belong to us as much as to those who, because of their

great numbers, are casting us out and are resting satisfied with their spiritualattainments, thinking themselves rich and increased with goods and in need of

    nothing. (3 SC 11, 12: 2)

The statement being written by Inspiration must absolutely be right. But

the only constituent of the great multitude to be gathered in true Mt. Carmelare the second fruits of the wheat and the barley. When the 144,000 spiritual

Israel reached Mt. Zion, the message will go into the four corners of the

Earth. Obviously, therefore the constituent of the great Multitude which aretaken only from the east and the West are the second fruits of the wheat and

    the barley (2 TG 46:35, 36).

The phrase central location (1 SC 11, 12:3), definitely points out to the

Lone Star State being in the midst of the land for both Americas, North

(America) and South (America) the Western Continent, Texas is the only

place where Gods headquarters must be found (1 SC10:1). The statement

In the territory indicated by the Lord where the future headquarters were to

    be found

    17

    - (1 SC 10:3), simply indicates that Waco could not be the territory, but rather

    Waco is within the territory.

The wisdom and knowledge of the infinite is beyond comprehension bythe finite. The wonders we behold, and the events which make the history of

our world are but duplicates from the blueprints in heaven. (1 SR 231).

There are two unseen powers that guide the destinies of men and the affairs

of the world with a terrible exactness. (1934 Tract 3 pg. 65). In it every

informed Bible student discerns, not mere happenstance, but purposive design

wrought by the omnipotent hand of Providence (1 SR p.e. 37), that Jacob of

old stayed in Haran for 20 years (Gen. 31:38), the antitypical Jacobites as

well stayed in antitypical Haran [Waco] for only 20 years (2 TG 35:2325).

The types are worked out to expose the error and reveal the truth. The

honest ones will shun the devil by embracing the facts, and by walking in thelight. (2 SR255). Remember, the only positive proofs and clear explanations

of divine providences that there is no type for that which is false. Obviously

therefore, since there is no type that after Jacob stayed in Haran for 20 years

he go back again, this typological events openly widely exposed that such

    Movement located

    18

    - in the OLD site location, cannot be the Jacobites. Now, lets turn back, to

our main subjectThus adding evidence to evidence, the passages overwhelmingly show that

antitypical Padanaram must be the Lone Star State Texas. The mere fact

that it is called the lone Star State, divine providences foretold beforehand

that this State must be completely separated from the United States of

America. Inspiration declared: for the Lord wants this place [Texas] to be

a refuge for all who make no excuse for the poor, the maimed, and the

halt, and the blind of the city, and of the highways and hedges who feel

their need of Him. (1 SC 11, 12:3). The mere fact, that the National

Basketball Association [NBA] is divided only into two conferences, theEastern and the Western Conference, perfectly shows that the United States of

America is divided into two, the Eastern part and the Western part. Obviously

therefore, both the first fruits and the second fruits of the wheat and the barleywould be gathered from the East and the West to Padanaram (Texas) then to

    the homeland (Zion).

Remember, Early Writings page 282 will occur before the 144,000spiritual Israel reached to Mt. Zion. Inspiration declared clearly, that during

this antitypical feast of Tabernacles there are already a harvested crops both

the first and the second fruits.

    Here we read

    1 SR 62, 63 JACOB HOMEWARD BOUND:TIME OF TROUBLE

At the end of the twenty years Jacob was homeward-bound to the

promised land and his fathers house with

    21

    22/45

    - great possessions. By the time he arrived at his fathers house he had his

twelve sons (the heads of the twelve tribes). Before Jacob entered his fathers

house he went through that terrible struggle and wrestled with the angel till

the breaking of the day. Gen. 32:24-29.

Jacobs wrestling with the angel typifies the time of Jacobs trouble (for

the church). We read in EarlyWritings, pages 36, 37: A decree went forth

to slay the saints, which caused them to cry day and night for deliverance.

This was the time of Jacobs trouble. See also Patriarchs and Prophets,

    pages 202-203.

TYPE OF PROMISED LAND--ISRAEL IN FATHERS HOUSE

If the promised land of Canaan is the type of the promised heavenly

Canaan, then Jacobs fathers house is the type of our Fathers house. Just so,when Israel (the true) enters our Fathers house in the heavenly Canaan there

will be the twelve tribes, the 144,000. The question arises, Are these all that

will be saved in the third angels message? Remember that when Jacob

entered his fathers house with his twelve sons he had many servants, male

and female, that outnumbered his tribes (sons) many times. Just so with Israel

(the true), who will have with them a great multitude

    22

    23/45

    - which no man could number. Rev. 7:9. (The great multitude came by the

effort of the tribes after the fulfillment ofEzekiel 9). (1 SR 62, 63)

It is clear as sunlight, that this prophetic event occurred, when typicalJacob is homeward bound to the kingdom. And at that time according to our

reading, while Jacob is to enter the Kingdom, there would be many, many

servants male and female from the constituent of the Great Multitude, that

    outnumbered the two first fruits.

Therefore, from April 23, 2017 A.D. (which is Oct. 16, 2018 in Bible

Calendar), Gods people will be leaving the cities and villages, andassociating together by companies.

out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valleywhich was full of bones,

Verse 2 And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there

Verse 3 And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I

answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest.

Verse 4 Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto

them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.

Verse 5 Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause

Verse 7 So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there

    bone.

Verse 8 And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon

them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.

Verse 9 Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of

man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four

winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.

Verse 10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath cameinto them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great

    army.

Verse 11 Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole

house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost:

we are cut off for our parts.

Verse 12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord

2 TG 7:12, 13 Now to line up all the resurrections, we must take into

account also the one of Ezekiel.

Ezekiel 37:1, 11-14 The hand of the Lord was upon me, and carried

me out in the Spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valleywhich was full of bones.... Then He said unto me, Son of man, these bones

are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our

hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts. Therefore prophesy and say untothem, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, O My people, I will open your

graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the

land of Israel. And ye shall know that I am the Lord, when I have opened

    - then shall ye know that I the Lord have spoken it, and performed it, saith the

    Lord.

In this resurrection only Gods own people, Israel, arise with no sinneramong them. Moreover, these do not meet the Lord in the air; they are taken

to the land of Israel, Palestine. This resurrection, therefore, is not the same as

the resurrection of1 Thessalonians, of the Revelation, or ofDaniel 12. It must

    be a separate one. (2 TG 7:12, 13)

Inspiration declared clearly that the resurrection of Ezekiel 37 is not the

resurrection in Daniel 12:2, this must be a separate one. But the fact, both

resurrections are special, first to the spiritual Israel (Daniel 12:2), all who hadbeen died in the faith of the Third Angels Message since Oct. 22, 1844 A.D.

up to March 24, 2017 A.D., whereas Ezekiel 37:1-14, are those who had been

died since 1917 B.C. (call of Abraham the beginning of the period of theliteral Israel), up to the Apostles, in 100 A.D. in which the last apostle died

    John the Revelator.

    1917 B.C. 100 A.D.

This absolute plain fact, clearly shows that the

resurrection of all literal Israel Ezekiel 37:1-14,

    would be in the year 2017 A.D. For 1917 B.C. + 100 A.D.

    - of God began to work. The scattered bones were shaken, and began to come

together, bone to his bone, and were bound together by sinews. They were

covered with flesh, and as the Lord breathed upon the bodies thus formed,

the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, anexceeding great army (MS 85, 1903).

A VISION OF OUR WORK.The souls of those whom we desire to save

are like the representation which Ezekiel saw in vision,--a valley of dry

bones. They are dead in trespasses and sins, but God would have us deal with

them as though they were living. Were the question put to us, Son of man,

can these bones live? our answer would be only the confession of ignorance,

O Lord, Thou knowest. To all appearance there is nothing to lead us to hopefor their restoration. Yet nevertheless the word of the prophecy must be

spoken even to those who are like the dry bones in the valley. We are in no

wise to be deterred from fulfilling our commission by the listlessness, thedullness, the lack of spiritual perception, in those upon whom the Word of

God is brought to bear. We are to preach the word of life to those whom we

may judge to be as hopeless subjects as though they were in their graves.

Though they may seem unwilling to hear or to receive the light of truth,

    without questioning or wavering we

    30

    31/45

    - are to do our part. We are to repeat to them the message. Awake thou that

sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

It is not the human agent that is to inspire with life. The Lord God of Israelwill do that part, quickening the lifeless spiritual nature into activity. The

breath of the Lord of hosts must enter into the lifeless bodies. In the

judgment, when all secrets are laid bare, it will be known that the voice of

God spoke through the human agent, and aroused the torpid conscience, and

stirred the lifeless faculties, and moved sinners to repentance and contrition,

and forsaking of sins. It will then be clearly seen that through the human

agent faith in Jesus Christ was imparted to the soul, and spiritual life from

heaven was breathed upon one who was dead in trespasses and sins, and hewas quickened with spiritual life.

But not only does this simile of the dry bones apply to the world, but alsoto those who have been blessed with great light; for they also are like the

skeletons of the valley. They have the form of men, the framework of the

body; but they have not spiritual life. But the parable does not leave the dry

bones merely knit together into the forms of men; for it is not enough that

there is symmetry of limb and feature. The breath of life must vivify the

    bodies,-

    31

  • 8/22/2019 The Literal and the Spiritual Israel (Special Edition)

    32/45

    - that they may stand upright, and spring into activity. These bones represent

the house of Israel, the church of God, and the hope of the church is the

vivifying influence of the Holy Spirit. The Lord must breathe upon the dry

    bones, that they may live.

The Spirit of God, with its vivifying power, must be in every human agent,

that every spiritual muscle and sinew may be in exercise. Without the Holy

Spirit, without the breath of God, there is torpidity of conscience, loss of

spiritual life. Many who are without spiritual life have their names on the

church records, but they are not written in the Lambs book of life. They may

be joined to the church, but they are not united to the Lord. They may be

diligent in the performance of a certain set of duties, and may be regarded asliving men; but many are among those who have a name that thou livest, and

    art dead.

Unless there is genuine conversion of the soul to God; unless the vital

breath of God quickens the soul to spiritual life; unless the professors of truth

are actuated by heaven-born principle, they are not born of the incorruptible

seed which liveth and abideth forever. Unless they trust in the righteousness

of Christ as their only security; unless they copy His character, labor in His

spirit, they are naked, they have not on the robe of

    32

    - His righteousness. The dead are often made to pass for the living; for those

who are working out what they term salvation after their own ideas, have not

God working in them to will and to do of His good pleasure.

This class is well represented by the valley of dry bones Ezekiel saw in

    vision (RH Jan. 17, 1893). (4 BC11651167)

Both E.G. White and V.T. Houteff are authorized by God to extract oil

from the Bible. V.T. Houteff, as he extracted Ezekiel 37:1-14, applied to the

literal resurrection of the literal Israel. Whereas E.G. White, as she extractedEzekiel 37:1-14, applied to a spiritual resurrection.

Now, let us read1 SM 128 A revival and a reformation must take place, under theministration of the Holy Spirit. Revival and reformation are two different

things. Revival signifies a renewal of spiritual life, a quickening of the

powers of mind and heart, a resurrection from spiritual death. Reformation

signifies a reorganization, a change in ideas and theories, habits and practices.

Reformation will not bring forth the good fruit of righteousness unless

    33

    - it is connected with the revival of the Spirit. Revival and reformation are to

do their appointed work, and in doing this work they must blend.--The

Review and Herald, Feb. 25, 1902. (1 SM 128)When the prophet died, the church thus cut off from the very source of its

life (3 Ans. 60). The Spirit of life is represented by each New Truth. (1 SR

123). And such new truth which is the Spirit of life which originates from

God is channeled through Inspiration. And that is why Inspiration made it so

plain, that when the prophet died, the church is thus cut off from the very

    source of its life.

Therefore, since Revival signifies a renewal of spiritual life, aquickening of the powers of mind and heart a resurrection from spiritual

death clearly shows that such spiritual resurrection ofEzekiel 37:1-14, must

be at the time when such gift of Inspiration is remanifested the only channelby which such spiritual life can be obtain. The voice of prophecy declared:

In the judgment, when all secrets are laid bare, it will be known that the

voice of God spoke through the human agent, and aroused the torpid

conscience, and stirred the lifeless faculties, and moved sinners to repentance

and contrition, and forsaking of sins. (4 BC 1165)

4 BC 1165, 1166 But not only does this simile of the dry bones apply to

The voice of Inspiration plainly declared that such spiritual resurrection of

Ezekiel 37:1-14 is applied, both to the church and the world. They must be

    the first and the second fruits.And then further declared:4 BC 1167 Unless there is genuine conversion of the soul to God;

unless the vital breath of God quickens the soul to spiritual life; unless the

professors of truth are actuated by heaven-born principle, they are not born of

the incorruptible seed which liveth and abideth forever. Unless they trust in

let us read1 TG 9:14 When God begins to destroy the nations, He will pour upon

His saints the Spirit of grace, then will they really mourn for sinning against

the Lord. It is because men do not now have that spirit that their personal

feelings are so easily hurt for any little thing done against them. And since the

Spirit of grace causes one to mourn not for self, it is understandable

    36

  • 8/22/2019 The Literal and the Spiritual Israel (Special Edition)

    37/45

    - that to pity oneself, and to be hurt over what others do or say against him is

a sure sign that rather than being imbued with the Spirit of grace, he is

imbued with the spirit of the Devil, who is daily seeking to discourage and

dishearten by pitying self. Remember that self-pity is outright self

    -defeat. Not

one of us has ever been abused as was the Lord, and yet self in Him never

    was hurt.

If we are to be sorry for anyone, let us not be sorry for self. We sometimes

think we are sorry for our sinning and our causing the Lord to be abused and

crucified, but our sorrow is not real; it is only theoretical. When this Spirit ofgrace is poured upon us, then shall we fully realize that it was not the Jews,

but the sins of all of us that crucified Christ, and then we would count it aprivilege to be abused for Christs sake. (1 TG 9:14)

Our reading definitely declared, that not until the Spirit of grace be pouredupon His people there could be no genuine repentance. Our sorrow could

not be real, but only theoretical. Therefore such genuine conversion as the

fulfillment of the spiritual resurrection ofEzekiel 37, must be the fulfillment

of the outpouring of the Spirit of Grace. (To have more definite understanding

Since the entire worlds history is divided into seven different periods, and

the present truth is the Spirit of life, inescapably therefore there must be 7

spiritual resurrections. But the seventh period, under the last seal, the seventh

seal is divided into seven divisions of spiritual resurrection.

John 11:42, 43 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of

the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent

1 TG 37:14, 15 What is the Lord s arm that judges the people? This

we shall see as we read--

    Isaiah 51:9-10 Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord;

awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Art thou not it that

hath cut Rahab, and wounded the dragon? Art thou not it which hath dried the

sea, the waters of the great deep; that hath made the depths of the sea a way

for the ransomed to pass over?

How illogical it would be for God to be trying to awake Himself, asthough He, or His own arm, is asleep! This verse shows that He calls the

Exodus Movement His arm. Rightly so, because God does His work with Hisservants. His servants, therefore, are His arm, and they shall judge (rule) the

people, and the people shall trust on them. (1 TG 37:14, 15)

2 TG 9:6 The arm of the Lord that rules for Him must be figurative of

those through whom He works (Isaiah 51:9), of those who are to stand with

Him on Mt. Sion (Rev.14:1), - the church spotless and without guile. (2 TG

1 TG 36:5 They are to explain that the people whom God uses to get His

work done are His arm; that they are to rule for Him; that His reward is

with Him, and His work yet before Him; that He shall feed His flock, and

with His arm (with His church) He shall gather the lambs (the newlyconverted) and carry them to His kingdom. (1TG 36:5)

Inspiration declared: Still further, as the 144,000 are the servants of

God (Rev. 7:3), it proves that the call of Isaiah 52:1 developed this pure
