The Light Between Oceans - Tom Sherbourne’s (Michael Fassbender) life is adrift, having survived the brutality of World War I, while he doesn’t talk about the horrors of war, you can see it in his eyes. He is aching to �ee the past that still haunts him; his goal to escape from society and life itself. It appears Tom �nally �nds solace in both when he takes a job as the lighthouse keeper on a small deserted island far from the shores of western Australia. While on his way to seek the position Tom has a �eeting encounter with a mysterious young woman standing on the ocean blu�s tossing bread crumbs into the air for the gulls to feed upon. A short time later while dining at the home of the Graysmark’s, a local family, Tom come face to face with his mystery woman, Isabel (Alicia Vikander), their daughter. A bond between the two is formed; a connection that leads to love, marriage, and all the mysteries that life has in store. The Light Between Oceans is a drama, romance rated PG-13, it’s about the pain and su�ering of lost lives, both past and present; enduring love, deceit, and the betrayal of faith.
