HS-9 Spindle Tape
Energy saving continues to be an important issue in the textile industry as the power requirement is continuously increasing due to high speed operations. The ring spinning frame is a major consumer of energy which is about 40% to 60% of the total Spinning Mill consumption. With the Habasit Iakoka HS-9 spindle tape, customers can be sure to have the best possible solution to keep energy cost at a minimum.
Habasit Iakoka made a comparative power study in a leading Textile Mill in South India by keeping all the operating conditions similar in all aspects.

Synthetic rubber belts are having high co-efficient of friction and
will worn out very quickly when both the sides are coming into
contact continuously, whereas in Leather, co-efficient of friction is
low and hence it will not worn out quickly.
Major application - cross drive
Leather belts
l Polycord round belts are highly versatile and can
be used for different purposes, partly as
substitute for V-belts or also as conveyor
elements.
l The high flexibility of Polycord round belts permit
any desired directional adjustment.
l The easy Quickmelt joining method makes it
possible to join Polycord round belts very quickly
with a handy tool.
l Available from 3 mm to 15 mm dia.

Services

Offering superior fabrication capabilities is a key element in Habasit Iakoka's service concept. Fabrication can take place either in the facilities of the supplier or on-site at the end user. These two approaches need different philosophies. Habasit Iakoka has solutions for both cases.
On site installation service
In cases where having the tools ready on-site is not economical you can be sure to have a Habasit Iakoka service partner nearby who can offer the required fabrication service and bring in the necessary equipment.
High quality auxiliary material
Our custom-made adhesives and meltable foils make sure that the quality of the original belt product is not compromised by the joint.
Belt product alternatives to match the desired fabrication system
For all major yarn processing applications Habasit offers alternative belt products depending on the desired jointing system:
A well adapted range of joining systems
Depending on the application, Habasit Iakoka can deliver belts joined with various joining systems or support you in doing these on-site.
Our standard joining systems are Thermofix (skived joint), Flexproof (finger joint). Quickmelt (but end joint), Step-Flex (finger over finger) and mechanical fasteners (plastic spiral lacing or a wide range of the prevalent metal fasteners are other offerings).
Tools for on-site fabrication
Since we understand your processes, we can support you with cost effective high quality tools that keep your equipment up and running. In case of emergency our tools will help to minimize breakdown time and support efficiently the joining process. Habasit offers skivers to prepare belt ends of Polyamide power transmission belts and spindle tapes prior to joining. Finger cutting devices to prepare Aramid and Polyester power transmission belts and TPU spindle tapes are in the range as well. A selection of hot pressing devices to fit your applications and guarantee optimum quality complement the range.

Storage and handling instructions

Adhesive
l Keep the adhesive bottle always in closed condition to avoid the water / dust contamination / spillage.
l Close the lid tightly after every use.
l For special adhesive used for belts, please ensure the expiry date before use.
l Usage of adhesives after the expiry dates will lead to weaken / damage the joint.
l Use the correct adhesive as per our recommendation.
Storage
l To protect spare tapes and belts from sun light, UV-radiation, dust, dirt. etc. keep
the tapes and belts in their original packing.
l Do not hang the belt in the stores / maintenance room in the exposed condition.
l If the parcel is open for inspection then re-pack the items as received and store.
l High humidity and high temperature will influence the shelf life and dimensional
stability of the tapes and belts.
l Maintain the stock of tapes and belts in "First in First out" basis to get maximum life
of the product.
Handling
l Handle the tapes and belts with clean hands to avoid the deposition of oil, grease etc.
l If possible, only open / remove the packing at the installation location.
l Do not kink or jolt Habasit conveyor and processing belts, or roll or pull them across dirty floors. Belts must not come
into contact with pointed, cutting or sharp-edged objects.
l Transport the belts on a firm surface (original packing), using a transportation rod in the spool core, with a fork-lift,
lifting gear, etc.
l In case of sending the belt to the manufacturer for service purpose, care to be taken that the belt should not bend below
its minimum pulley dia.
