Dear Fellow Ganders:
Thanks to all who attended our New Member Initiation, and welcome, to all nine of our new Ganders, we are very happy to have you as part of our Pond. As we enter another quarter, I’d like to encourage each of you to continue doing good for your Pond and for your community. Also, remember the next new member contest drawing will be held at our golf outing on Monday May 12th, which will be here before you know it, so make sure you bring a new member and get your name in the drawing!!!! Also, save the date to attend, I’m sure everyone needs some sun and fun as much as I do! I’d like to announce that Felicia Snyder and Diane Verhalen are in the very early stages of creating a Lexington Puddle. If you have friends or colleagues in the Lexington area that may be interested in helping them,
please bring them to the next meeting to become acquainted with our group. Before closing, I’d also like to extend a very special thanks to Ron Sheffer with Sheffer Law Firm for generously hosting our day at the track. We certainly had a great time. Thank you Ron!! Please be on the lookout for further information about our upcoming CEU luncheon to be held on Thursday, April 10, 2014. Topic and location TBD. I look forward to seeing everyone there. Your MLG, Angie Gabbard

P&C CE Class Lunch
In January, we had the pleasure of hosting Linda Meik, Grand Guardian of the Grand Home Nest. The Texas Pond is her home and she flew up to spend 2 snowy, cold days with the Kentucky Pond. Our Kentucky hospitality in-cluded: Transportation & Dinner at the Bristol with Don & Kerry Greeno
on Sunday, January 19th
Tour of downtown, The Galt House & Hadley Stoneware on Monday, January 20th
Dinner with a small group of KY Blue Goose Ganders at Uptown
on Monday, January 20th
Blue Goose Lunch Meeting at Mimi’s Café on Tuesday, January 21st
Linda spent her time here educating us on the ins and outs of the Blue Goose and her experience over the years. Linda has served as the Permanent Wielder of the Texas Pond for the past 11 years and has attended 16 Annual Conventions. She strongly believes that the best way to truly “know the Blue Goose” you need to attend a conven-tion. The southern region of the Blue Goose, for which the Ken-tucky Pond is a part of, will be hosting the convention in 2017. We will have a lot of opportunities to support this effort! Upon her return home, Linda wrote back to us to tell us how much she enjoyed her visit (except the cold & snow). She had many wonderful things to say about us, including: “What was so inspiring for me with the folks I got to meet, is your desire to go forward and do it right. The sincerity and dedication to pick up the reigns from Don and others and build a dynamic organization is wonderful. Working to build not only Louisville, but a Puddle in Lexington is what will make us strong. As I say over and over again… The South will rise again… one by one...two by two.!”
