3:00PM – 4:00PM SESSION 8: BREAKING DOWN THE WALLS – MEDIA DISRUPTION IN OUR MIDSTWAYNE BUCKLAR, CEO, VERTICAL INTERNET RADIOIt’s time to break down the club walls. Engaging, leading and being a facilitator of the emerging community in the internet age will mean using the tools usually reserved for use by multinationals through radio and television networks. The use of streaming or Internet media for services such as Netflix and Apple radio are already affecting share prices for media networks globally. Wayne will discuss how the concept of “local” and of “community” is being redefined by social media amongst the under 30’s and how the death of broadcast radio and television will extend that redefinition to all age groups. The implications for local community clubs need to be explored and anticipated and some “different thinking” will be required to get a strategic response in place before someone else does.

TRENT BELLProfessional SingerBorn and raised in Townsville, Trent has accomplished more than he ever imagined he would in his 25 years. In 2012 he came 3rd on channel 7’s Series of Xfactor as a part of Australia’s super group ‘The Collective’. Receiving GOLD on there debut single ‘surrender’ and hitting top five on the ARIA charts on there self titled EP.
