Hello Camp Weequahic We are about four months from the start of Summer 2020 and we canrsquot wait Wersquove got a lot of big

announcements and important info to share in this note ndash thanks for taking the time to look through it

We are excited to announce the launch of our new camp website The year-round team put a lot of effort into itrsquos creation We believe the new site will give prospective families a better lsquofeelrsquo of our summer home There are a lot more pictures and videos to enjoy as well as more updated information about camp

A big Camp Weequahic ldquoWELCOMErdquo goes out to all of our new campers Wersquove listed out everyonersquos names (at least those whorsquove enrolled by February 17th) on the next page We canrsquot wait to get you all to camp to introduce you to your new summer friends

Work continues at Weequahic throughout some topsy-turvy weather Our oldest boyrsquos bunks have new bathrooms to match the rest

of camp ndash a 10-year project that has finally been completed Our Health Center is in the process of a major revamp a new exam room and medicine storage room along with a new roof new windows and proper siding Campers we hope you donrsquot have to visit it at all this summer The new beach and campfire at the Waterfront are coming along nicely and the new boat is being built to our specifica-tions

Ah What a summer we are about to enjoy Canrsquot wait

Parents there is a good bit of info for you in this newsletter Please check out pages 4 to 6 for tips on preparing for the summer Please note we have switched to a new pill-form medicine provider PackMyRxcom They are a pharmacy as well as a packager which will help provide a higher level of communication and service

Label DaddyWe have partnered with LabelDaddycom for all your camperrsquos labeling needs These are stick-on labels that really last (The Kelly boys have had them in their shoes and shirts for years) When checking out please use the discount code lsquoWeequahicrsquo to receive 25 off your order

CampanionThe Campanion App for your phone allows you to see and download our daily pictures send emails to your camper and even receive facial recognition photos of your child This is a free service for our families and hope you enjoy it

Campers are required to have five shirts that saylsquoCamp Weequahicrsquo along with a sweatshirt and pair ofshorts Everything else can come from home Here is the link to the packing list for Summer 2020Make sure all orders are placed by April 15th

CAMP TRUCKINGAll US-based families are required to send theircamperrsquos bags to camp prior to the start of theirsession We unpack the kids before they arrive tohelp make that first day as easy as possible International campers should bring their baggage with them to camp

Camp families must use Camp Trucking to send theircamperrsquos bags to Weequahic We have worked with their team for 16 years and look forward to do so again You can sign up for the pickup online or by calling 9709490690

Families living close to Weequahic may choose tobring their camperrsquos bags to camp themselves Bagsmust arrive at least five days prior to the start oftheir session Wersquod be happy to give you a tour of camp and introduce you to our staff when you visit

PackMyRXWe have chosen a new provider for our pill-form med-ications for this coming summer PackMyRxcom They are a pharmacy as well as packager and work with many well-known camps They offer greater communication functionality and improved fulfillment optionsThis includes daily antihistamines such as Claritinand Zyrtec You can find out more information aboutregistering their service here Registration is now open Families who fail to utilize the PackMyRX processfor their camperrsquos pill-form medication willbe charged $150 per medication by Camp Weequahic

Parents sending non-PackMyRx meds such as inhal-ers creams and injections must complete the Camper Instructions for Non-PackMyRx Medications form and send it along with the medication prior to the first day camp There is no additional charge for providing these medications

HEY PARENTSCome Visit Before CampParents if you live in close enough to drive wersquod be happy to host your family for a tour of Weequahic prior to the start of your camperrsquos session

Call us to schedule a time to visit a week or two before the start of camp Tours last about 90 minutes and will allow you to meet the staff breath the clean air and be able to visualize your camperrsquos letters all the better This is not a mandatory thing and we are happy to offer

Make sure to bring your camperrsquos bags with you Wersquoll store them and have everything ready to go once summer starts

Gearing Up For Camp

Facebook Live Event - Wednesday April 7th

Camp Director Cole will be live on Facebook April 7th at 8pm Eastern Standard Time talking about preparing for a great summer Hersquoll cover the most often asked questions from parents and provide some useful ideas on preparing your camper (and yourself) for camp

Parents have enjoyed this in the past and we hope this yearrsquos event will be useful to you

Activities SelectionWe will make the Activity Selection form available start-ing March 15th and need your choices by May 1st When you have questions you canrsquot find answers to please pick up the phone and call us ndash we are happy to help 5707982716

We will do our best to get your camper into all of the programs they want to enjoy A couple of hints list the most important requests in the first few positions For example if you really want your child to waterski put lsquowaterskiingrsquo in the first or second slot Also we would like your camper to move each day so make sure to put in something active

Wersquove started something new that we hope will be useful to all of our camp parents and staff members ndash the Campfire Conversation Podcast

Cole spends some time each week talking with another camp professional or thinker on a summer camp lsquohot topicrsquo ndash building confidence creating empathy battling anxiety and more By exploring how we handle these ideas at camp we hope our families will get some useful ideas they can incorporate back home
