"The red dot is simply an excellent, very descriptive and precise term for the concern of

making a qualitative choice."

Hadi Teherani (* February 2nd, 1954 in Tehran), German designer and architect, has devoted

himself to the emotionality of space, to clarity of shape & form, and to their sustainable

functionality. All the borders between architecture and design are dissolved in favour of

experienceable overall conception, all of a space’s components towards one and the same

targeted objective: to increase human beings’ love of life. The depth of work performed

thereby ranges from the modular floor covering (SCALE, Vorwerk) to the modular kitchen

(+Artesio, Poggenpohl) and on to the high-rise building (“Kranhäuser” in Cologne) and

university (Zayed University, Abu Dhabi), from the flagship store (Kiton) and trade-fair booth

(Vorwerk, Ritzenhoff) to the e-bike (Hadi Teherani AG).

When Hadi Teherani defines emotional products at his new, self-designed ‘loft-house’

headquarters on Elbberg in Hamburg overlooking the Elbe River, a head office that unites all

teams at one location, what emerges is not only a stimulating, open-minded atmosphere but a

directly perceivable, sensual added value that affects people. The building blocks of our

surroundings don’t appear to be elementary, they act in complex ways instead. Which makes it

all the more important to Hadi Teherani to unite all of the details harmoniously in one

composition.

Hadi Teherani, a member of the independent Academy of the Arts in Hamburg, has been

honoured internationally many times as an architect and as a designer.

"Among all the awards on design, I do not have any hesitation to say that the red dot

design award is the best award on design in the world in two perspectives: One is that the
