The Underground Railroad was a bunch of routes and passages to get to Canada

It happened between 1830-1860

Slaves used it to come to Canada and find freedom

The Life of a Slave

The life of a slave was hard they got tortured and were forced to work sometimes children were sold away from there parents While they where walking they would have

to wear metal things around their neck

The Difficult Journey

They had to walk far some times people would help them by providing

them with supplies

if they got caught they would be beat up or killed they used code names

Harriet Tubman

Harriet Tubman was a hero she rescued hundreds of slaves she lead them through the Underground Railroad in 19 trips she rescued 300 slaves

The Big Question

The slaves came to Canada and brought knowledge and books /journals with them

they stood up for their rights and proved slavery was wrong

they had a huge part in putting an end to slavery
