“Canaan is a Family of Families on a Journey loving God, sharing life, serving others and showing Jesus to our world.” Process Statement
Opportunity
“As we have opportunity let us do good…” Galatians 6:10
The Apostle Paul encouraged the Galatians, even during adversity, to seize every opportunity God gives to do good. They had grown weary in defending the faith and in doing ministry. Paul admonished them not to grow weary but rather to seize every opportunity to “do good”. Canaan has had a busy season during our Bicentennial year. We too may have grown weary. However, October is a month full of opportunity to “do good”! Like Paul, I encourage you not to grow weary but to seize the moment and be found faithfully doing good, especially in His Household. This coming weekend, October 13-14, we have an opportunity to do good as we consider our prospective Student Minister and his family. I pray that our students and parents will be here in force on Saturday at 4:00 & 5:00 P.M.. Let’s fill God’s House Sunday morning as our Candidate and family are pre-sented to the Church. Then, on Sunday evening, at 6:00 P.M. we’ll gather to hear his heart as he preaches, and then hear the heart of our Search Team. Finally, the Church will vote. Let’s all be in prayer and in attendance. There is still time for everyone to connect in a Journey Night Growth Group this Sunday at 4:45. We launched on a three-day weekend, so our numbers were a little off. I’m confident many will join one of our inspirational classes this Sunday, another opportunity to do good! Monday, October 15th, we’ve scheduled our Annual Church Leadership Team Training. I’ll meet with all of our team and committee leaders at 6:30 P.M. to help equip them to lead their team in the new year. Team Leaders need to call their members for Team Orientation at 7:30 that same night at 7:30 P.M.. Yet another strategic opportunity to do good in His Church and Kingdom. Sunday, October 21st, is our next Journey Launch Class after the second service. The Father has brought us many new members and opportunities. Here is another wonderful Kingdom opportunity to do good by bringing new members and opportunities to this crucial class. Finally, I must mention the 10 families Habitat for Humanity is bringing to our doorstep. Thank you, Journey Groups, for seizing this God-given opportunity to do good building relationships of Hope! Together, building relationships of Hope! Bro Morgan Classes provided for Preschoolers, Children and Students. Adult classes: Seven Realities of Experiencing God; Cults and False Religions; Discerning the Voice of God; The Faithful: Heroes of the Old Testament; and Financial Peace University
