For about a century, Catholic High School, CHIJ St Nicholas Girls’ School and Singapore Chinese Girls’ School have transformed generations of successful men and women – many of whom have contributed significantly to the transformation of Singapore. The Joint Integrated Programme (JIP) is offered by Catholic High School (CHS), CHIJ St Nicholas
Girls’ School (CHIJ SNGS), Singapore Chinese Girls’ School
(SCGS) and Eunoia Junior College (EJC).
Integrating and extending from the best elements of existing signature programmes unique to our schools, the JIP aims to provide academically strong students with an enriched broad-based curriculum. Our students have the opportunities to engage in a wide spectrum of authentic and future-oriented learning experiences that will equip them with competencies to navigate in a complex world.
JIP students from CHS, CHIJ SNGS and SCGS will spend their first four years in their respective secondary schools before progressing to EJC, and can look forward to the following MOE special programmes in the pursuit of their learning passions and aspirations. From Year 3, JIP students can offer the Bicultural Studies Programme (Chinese). JIP students from CHS and CHIJ SNGS can offer the Music Elective Programme from Year 1. EJC students can offer the Bicultural Studies Programme (Chinese), Music Elective Programme and Humanities Scholarship Programme.

Developed collaboratively by the three partner schools, the Year 1 to 4 academic programme is aligned with the three disciplines of Languages, Humanities and the Arts, and Mathematics and Sciences. This is to ensure a strong grounding in the content, skills, and rigour required to excel in the core subject disciplines offered within the same disciplinary clusters at JC1 and JC2.
A deep understanding of subject matter is emphasised to support further intellectual pursuits, enabling students to transform factual information into new and “useable” knowledge. Hence, all Year 1 and 2 students offer a general curriculum that enables them to explore various disciplinary fields and make an informed choice regarding the subject options to be offered at Years 3 and 4, and subsequently at JC1 and JC2, including the MOE Special Programmes offered by EJC.

Our Core Academic Programme ensures that our JIP students are poised to further their intellectual pursuits and realise their potential in different areas of interests and specialisations by providing a strong grounding in knowledge and skills across the different subject disciplines.
CURRICULUM
From Years 1 to 4, modules offered under Philosophy of Knowledge and Emerging Asia, some in Chinese Language, ride on the existing strengths of our schools in nurturing bilingual and bicultural students. They also develop our JIP students to be well-versed in eastern and western perspectives on knowledge, reason and values. In turn, the Current Affairs modules are designed to promote an understanding of global issues and megatrends.

From Years 1 to 4, the knowledge that our JIP students acquire in WRP will provide them with the foundational knowledge and skills that will put them in good stead for specific subjects and special programmes offered at Eunoia Junior College.

Beyond the Core Academic Programme, our unique World Readiness Programme (WRP) aims to develop our JIP students’ ability to impact lives in positive and ethical ways – in line with our JIP outcomes of a Global Outlook and Ethical Leadership. The WRP prepares our
students for the world beyond the classroom, equipping them to understand Singapore’s role in the international arena, and exposing them to Eastern and Western perspectives of
geopolitical, social, cultural, economic and technological issues and megatrends.

21st CENTURY COMPETENCIES
This figure represents the spiral curriculum students experience in the World Readiness Programme. Three key strands anchor the programme: Philosophy, Emerging Asia, and Current Affairs. 21st Century Competencies are developed throughout the programme, across all three strands.
APPLICATION
From JC1 to JC2, students will move from knowledge to practice, with an emphasis on cross-cultural skills. As international boundaries rapidly disappear, our students will be working with an increasingly wider variety of people - people from different segments of society and with varied backgrounds beyond their immediate circle of friends, beyond their community, and beyond our country. In all these cross-cultural interactions, we hope that our students will be equipped with the necessary skills and be excited to engage people from different walks of life.
Our programme thus gives students the opportunity to practise and sharpen these skills, by creating platforms for our students to have deep conversations with a variety of people - a foreign worker, an elderly woman from a very different cultural background, and with leaders in various fields. Through reflecting on these experiences, students will be better prepared to face our globalised world.

The WRP utilises a variety of learning platforms to engage students. On top of lectures and tutorials in each school, schools also engage or participate in programmes organised by external agencies (e.g. participation in Model United Nations Conferences). The three partner secondary schools also organise annual WRP Symposiums where students are brought together to benefit from the synergistic sharing of ideas and perspectives. At these WRP Symposiums, our students interact with people across a spectrum of society, including research engineers, foreign diplomats, social entrepreneurs and thought leaders.

the academic and non-academic domains in their six years with the JIP.

Passion Pursuit provides avenues for high academic achievement, intellectual discovery, leadership excellence and extra-curricular exploration essential to lifelong learning through an enriching journey of Diverge, Converge and Emerge. Students get to explore a broad spectrum of interest areas under the Diverge strand, understand what passion really means through the Converge strand and eventually actualise it as part of purposeful living in the Emerge strand. Across the three strands, Passion Pursuit is implemented through Platforms for Exploration and Platforms for Pursuit, and is enriched by the strong partnership among the partner schools and our networks of alumni and community partners.
PLATFORMS FOR PURSUIT
Extending from the Platforms for Exploration, the Platforms for Pursuit enable the pursuit of disciplines at a deeper level, while nurturing the students to be confident and self-directed learners. This is delivered through a range of creative and innovative avenues, and students can look forward to engaging actively in meaning-making through rich dialogue and interaction.An example of Platform for Pursuit is the Research and Mentorship Programme which enables our JIP students to have a choice of engaging in discipline-based or multidisciplinary projects with a teacher mentor or a researcher and expert in selected fields in an in-depth investigation. A reflective component weaved into the design of this programme brings JIP students on a journey of self-discovery to deepen their engagement in these areas.
PLATFORMS FOR EXPLORATION
These are modules offered to our students to nurture their intellectual curiosity and further their interests in the various domains. There are opportunities for students to be exposed to various fields at an introductory or novice level often triggered by an initial interest.
The modules encourage exploration and experimentation to ascertain if students wish to pursue them at a deeper and more sustained level. Examples of such modules include Aromachemistry, Art of Ensemble Playing and niche sports such as archery.

Our three JIP schools work closely with our strong network of alumni, collaborating organisations and community partners to provide research and mentorship opportunities for our students. Our broad base of partners include A*STAR, Changi General Hospital, National Heritage Board, Singapore Science Centre, Defence Science and Technology Agency, the Dolphin Discovery Centre in Australia and more.

The four schools offer a spread of talent development programmes to help our Year 1 to JC2 students transform their gifts into talents. Under these Talent Development Programmes, our JIP students are nurtured to take on challenging assignments that
stretch them beyond their current competency and potential.

These talent programmes can be in the areas of academics, aesthetics and sports.
For example, CHS offers the CΩERGY Programme and Math Research Experience for students who have a strong interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics); CHIJ SNGS offers a suite of Bilingual and Bicultural Programmes (including a Translation Programme) and Science Mentorship Programme; SCGS offers the IP Academies (Math and Science Academy, Liberal Arts Academy, Leadership Academy and Business Academy); and EJC offers the STEM Research Programme and Liberal Arts Programme.
In addition, the JIP schools also offer MOE Special Programmes such as the Bicultural Studies Programme (Chinese) [BSP(C)], the Music Elective Programme (MEP) and the Humanities Scholarship Programme. Our BSP(C) students will develop high cultural intelligence through an intensive Chinese curriculum and immersion experiences in China and a Western country, along with opportunities to interact and share their experiences with students from other BSP(C) schools. Through the MEP offered in CHS, CHIJ SNGS and EJC, students with an aptitude for music can pursue a deeper and more comprehensive study in music. EJC offers the Humanities Scholarship Programme to outstanding students to study the Humanities at pre-university level, nurturing their local and global awareness.
It is a four-year programme (Year 3 to JC2) that is offered in Catholic High School, CHIJ St Nicholas Girls’ School, Singapore Chinese Girls’ School, and Eunoia Junior College. We are offering this programme to Year 3 students who have the ability and interest to learn about contemporary China’s society, economy, politics and international relations, and are passionate about learning from the cultures of the East and West. Students successfully admitted to BSP(C) will complete their Year 3 and Year 4 of BSP(C) in their respective secondary schools, and continue with the JC1 and JC2 BSP(C) at Eunoia Junior College.
The objectives of the Joint Integrated Programme BSP(C) are to:
* Nurture principled, bicultural and enterprising leaders who are able to engage with China and understand the West;
* Develop bilingual scholars who are passionate about analysing and projecting the historical, cultural and contemporary developments of both the East and West; and
* Broaden and enhance our students’ intellectual horizons, and cultivate their global perspectives through integration with the JIP World Readiness Programme.
8.1
BICULTURAL STUDIES PROGRAMME (CHINESE)
The Bicultural Studies Programme (Chinese) [BSP(C)] is a Ministry of Education Special Programme. The BSP(C) aims to nurture a core group of bilingual and bicultural students who are able to understand, appreciate and engage contemporary China, as well as relate to the West.
CURRICULUM
The BSP(C) curriculum aims to deepen students’ understanding of the history, social evolution, economic developments and international relations of contemporary China with the rest of the world, particularly Singapore and the West. Students will be exposed to experiential learning and other approaches that cultivate their interest and deepen their learning in topics related to China and how the development of China affects them, Singapore and the world. Students will have the opportunities to carry out research studies, attend camps, symposiums and seminars organised by MOE and the school, as well as go for overseas immersion programmes in both China and Western countries.
The BSP(C) curriculum comprises four themes:

* Key Issue 3: Chinese Society and its Transformation
* Key Issue 4: Rise Of China and its Implications
OVERSEAS IMMERSION PROGRAMME
BSP(C) students will enjoy opportunities to participate in overseas immersion programmes to China and Western countries.
SPECIAL ASSISTANCE PLAN (SAP) SCHOLARSHIP — BICULTURAL STUDIES PROGRAMME (CHINESE)
Students who have obtained exemplary results in both English Language and Higher Chinese Language will be recommended for the MOE SAP Scholarship – Bicultural Studies Programme (Chinese). The scholarship is tenable for 4 years, from Year 3 to JC2, and provides an allowance of $1,000 per annum. It also covers school fees based on Singapore Citizens’ rates, subject to an annual cap of $2,400. More information on the SAP Scholarship is available on the MOE website.
Scholars are to fulfil the following scholarship requirements:
* At Years 3 and 4: offer Higher Chinese and Chinese Electives as required by the school;
* At JC1 and JC2: offer H2 China Studies in Chinese;
* Participate in BSP(C) activities organised by the MOE and school;
* Maintain satisfactory progress and good conduct annually.

公教中学、圣尼各拉女校、新加坡女子中学和诺雅初级学院将在综合课程计划下开办四年的双文化课程。我们将会遴选对当代中国社会、经济、政治、外交等方面感兴趣,并热衷于学习东西方文化的中三学生修读这个课程。所有成功获选修读双文化课程的学生将会在各自的中学完成两年的双文化课程,并在诺雅初级学院完成高一和高二的课程。
我们的双文化课程宗旨是:

特别辅助计划学校奖学金-双文化课程
凡英文和高级华文成绩优异的新加坡公民学生,经由学校推荐将有机会成为特别辅助计划学校-双文化课程奖学金得主。奖学金得主每年可得$1000,并豁免缴交学费。学费津贴顶限为每年$2,400。
所有奖学金得主都必须:
* 在中三和中四选修高级华文 和学校规定的华文选修课。
* 在初级学院选修H2中国通识。

双文化课程旨在深化学生对中国历史、社会变迁、经济发展和国际外交的认识。学生将通过体验式学习和其他方式促进学习,培养他们了解东西方社会的兴趣。除了和中国有关的课题,双文化课程学生也将学习到中国的发展如何影响他们、新加坡和世界。学生也将有机会进行研究,参加由教育部和学校主办的一系列活动如学习营和研讨会,以及到中国和西方国家浸濡学习。

所有双文化课程的学生将有机会参与海外浸濡计划,到中国和西方国家浸濡学习。

HUMANITIES PROGRAMME
Catholic High School, CHIJ St Nicholas Girls’ School and Singapore Chinese Girls’ School share a strong record in Humanities education, which covers Geography, History, Social Studies and Literature in English. Singapore Chinese Girls’ School is a Centre of Excellence in the Humanities for South Zone schools. The school
organises the Humanities Symposium for teachers and conferences for students to delve deeper into issues and share their research papers. At Eunoia Junior College, the Humanities Scholarship Programme (HSP) is offered to outstanding students to study the Humanities at the pre-university level, nurturing their local and global awareness.
CURRICULUM
The EJC Humanities Programme offers a differentiated learning experience for HSP scholars and selected Humanities students with a shared passion and aptitude for the Humanities. Students will engage in university-level seminars, learning journeys to government agencies and private-sector companies, and experience a stimulating itinerary of enrichment activities.
HSP scholars offer subject combinations prescribed by the Ministry of Education for the programme, where Literature in English is compulsory. EJC HSP students may offer a second H2 Humanities subject chosen from China Studies in Chinese, Economics, Geography and History. The choice of the third H2 subject may include Art, China Studies in Chinese, Economics, Geography, History, Mother Tongue Language & Literature, Music or a Foreign Language.
HUMANITIES SCHOLARSHIP
Students from the JIP schools who have obtained exemplary results in the JIP school assessment will be recommended for the MOE Humanities Scholarship at Eunoia Junior College. The scholarship is tenable for 2 years, subject to satisfactory progress at the end of JC1 and good conduct. It provides an allowance of $1,000 per annum and also covers school fees based on Singapore Citizens’ rates, subject to an annual cap of $2,400.
OVERSEAS IMMERSION PROGRAMME
EJC Humanities Programme students will enjoy opportunities to participate in an overseas immersion programme in an Asian country. The trip will broaden their perspectives, enhance their cultural intelligence and deepen their appreciation of the human experience and its intricacies.
The Humanities Scholarship Programme (HSP) is offered to outstanding students to study the Humanities at Eunoia Junior College, nurturing their local and global awareness.

Established in 1982 by the Ministry of Education, the Music Elective Programme (MEP) provides opportunities for musically inclined students to pursue the study of music in an enriched environment under the guidance of highly qualified and passionate teachers.
The MEP aims to develop students musically to be Practitioners and Scholars in the Arts as well as active Advocates and Leaders for the Arts. It is a four-year programme offered in Catholic High School and CHIJ St Nicholas Girls’ School. Students from Singapore Chinese Girls’ School can offer a two-year music programme in SCGS from Year 3.

Students will be engaged in musical activities involving Listening and Analysis, and will take part in Composing and Performing activities within and beyond the classrooms. Students can look forward to having music discussions and collaborations with like-minded peers, and participate in various enrichment programmes organised by the schools and MOE to enable them to develop an appreciation of the cultural diversity of the arts in Singapore and the world. These include learning journeys in the arts, masterclasses, public performances and workshops. There will also be opportunities for music collaborations across JIP and MEP schools.
MUSIC ELECTIVE SCHOLARSHIP
The Music Elective Scholarship (MES) is offered by the Ministry of Education to encourage academically able and musically talented students to pursue the study of music at H2 and H3 Level under the MEP. Students who offer the programme at EJC will be considered for the MES if they meet the eligibility criteria. The scholarship provides an allowance of $1000 per annum. It also covers school fees based on Singapore Citizens’ rates, subject to an annual cap of $2,400. It is tenable for 2 years, subject to satisfactory progress at the end of JC1 and good conduct. Authentic learning can take the form of students going on experiential learning and internships, embarking on

Often, authentic learning can be greatly enhanced through situated learning via immersion in overseas contexts, while engaging other cultures and making a positive impact on the lives of people around the world.
The Overseas Immersion Programmes offered to JIP students are built upon other JIP platforms, such as the WRP and BSP(C). Within each school, JIP students have access to other opportunities for overseas immersion, such as CHS’ UK Immersion Experience, CHIJ SNGS’ Cultural Intelligence (CQ) programme, SCGS’ IP Academies, and EJC’s Cultural Immersion Programme.
Our schools also leverage stakeholders and community, such as alumni experts, to provide support, advice and resources, especially in the area of overseas academic and industrial visits and attachments.

The JIP Student Leadership Programme is committed to fulfilling the JIP vision of nurturing principled leaders of tomorrow. We seek to develop JIP graduates who will have the courage, disposition and essential qualities of a leader who leads by example and who will lead others to effect positive change. Guided by their strong moral compass, they will navigate the challenges of the future with ease and confidence.
CURRICULUM
Through a blend of leadership conferences, modules and camps, students will be equipped with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to become competent leaders. Guided by the belief that leadership practice should be balanced with warmth and a heart for service, the six-year programme will also expose students to the needs of the community. We believe in harnessing the leadership potential of each student. Training and opportunities are therefore spiralled from Year 1 to JC2 so as to cater to each student’s readiness and ability. While the leadership development themes are common across the JIP schools, each school has also crafted unique programmes customised to the students’ needs and which are grounded in leadership development theories, such as The Student Leadership Challenge and Maxwell’s Five Levels of Leadership. As students advance through the levels, they will be provided with various leadership opportunities within school as well as in the wider community as shown in the diagram below.
