Dance Conventions

Please let the office know if you are interested in attending the following dance conventions. Please check the bulletin board by the office for prices or the websites. Please make note of the registration deadlines (wouldn’t want anyone to miss out)

Groove Street in Saskatoon October 29 – 30 Registration deadline is Oct. 8 http://www.gspdanceconventions.com/gsp-saskatoon

Triple Threat in Saskatoon November 19 - 20 Registration deadline is Oct. 25 http://www.triplethreatdance.com/saskatoon

We are very excited to be attending the following competitions this dance season: Spring Stars (Saskatoon) Mar. 28 – April 1 Candance (Regina) April 27 – 30 The Performer (Saskatoon) May 3 – 7 We would love for all eligible students to compete in all three competitions. Unfortunately, dancers do not have the same number of opportunities to perform and share their talent like other competitive activities. Participating in competitions allow for students to boost self-confidence, improves showmanship and stage presence and brings dance teams closer together. We are trying our very best to give all students the opportunity to compete by participating in numerous fundraisers throughout the year to help accommodate the costs. (ex. Candy bags and snacks available at the office). We are looking into creating a payment schedule that allows for parents to pay in installments. If your child is unable to attend a competition or is not able to compete, your child will showcase their talent in the gala. (The choreography will not be changed and your child will be placed accordingly)

Solo/Duet/Trio sheets were due into the office by October 1. If you are still interested in doing a solo/duet or trio, please talk to the office ASAP. If the office received a sheet, parents/students will be contacted in the next few weeks. Group competition sheets will be handed out to eligible students by the teachers next week. Please sign and return by that next dance class. Deadline is Nov. 1.

• Parents please come in to pick up your child as it is safer for your child to wait indoors. • Please take all footwear off and put on the boot racks • Please check regulation dance wear on the website. • Please put your child’s name on all dance attire . • Water only (no other food/drink) in Studio I & II. • Please try to bring a filled water bottle.

• If you are looking for a used pair of shoes or your child has outgrown their shoes and you are wanting to sell them, please check out The Seconds Boutique (located in the office).

• The Seconds Boutique operates on a cash only basis. • Please bring your used items to the office and fill out

your name and number and we will do the rest. • Remember to keep checking the bulletin board to see

if your item has been sold
