2018 EDITION OF THE JAZZ THURSDAYS AT THE RESTAURANT DU PALAIS ROYAL
Building on the success of previous editions, the Restaurant du Palais Royal (one Michelin star) is hosting its Jazz Thursdays for the third consecutive year: Gypsy jazz concerts that will punctuate a dinner orchestrated by Chef Philip Chronopoulos.
Far from the Parisian agitation, the terrace of the Restaurant du Palais Royal is offering an ideal framework to escape for a diner or a sunny lunch. Every Thursdays of June, these concerts take place on the terrace of the restaurant, in the setting of the Jardin du Palais Royal, at the artistic and cultural heart of Paris.
Once again, the Palais Royal Restaurant has called on the collective Octave et Anatole for this new edition of its Jazz Thursdays. As always, the aim is to put the spotlight on Gypsy jazz, a particular branch of jazz with swing rhythms.
Led by Pierre Richeux, this group of talented musicians attaches particular importance to revealing their world to new audiences and know how to play on the anachronism that characterises them, as timeless young people who don’t hesitate to update the hits of yesteryear. Their goal is to modernize the Gypsy style, while making it accessible to a broader audience.
This year promises to be full of surprises with prestigious guests including Pianist, Saxophonist, Violinist, Trumpet player and Double bassist-Singer.

More than just a band of musicians, Octave & Anatole place particular im-portance on revealing their world to their audience, and skilfully play on their trademark anachronism: young people with timeless style who gladly bring a contemporary twist to the hits of yesteryear.
This collective led by professional guitarist Pierre Richeux was founded 10 years ago with the aim of modernising the gypsy jazz style while making it accessible to a wide audience.
Octave & Anatole’s repertoire reflects the musical style that they love: lively and diverse. Mainly consisting of gypsy jazz numbers, it also takes inspiration from the folklore of traditional Eastern European songs, as well as French po-pular songs and American jazz hits, which the band gives a new lease of life with their surprising arrangements. With a great deal of experience under their belt, having been performing live for over 10 years and honing their skills at major events (Off Samois festival, Festival des Puces in Saint Ouen, Salbris festival, Atelier Charonne Petits joueurs, Autour de midi minuit, etc.), this band are sure to enchant you with their musicality and elegance.

ABOUT RESTAURANT DU PALAIS ROYAL
Set in the Jardin du Palais-Royal gardens, right in the heart of historic, artistic and creative Paris, the Michelin-starred Restaurant du Palais Royal has shown a new face since 2015. Decorated by Christophe Tollemer, it pays homage to its environment.
After being bought in November 2014 by Evok Hôtels Collection, who invested nearly 2 million euros, the place has been completely redesigned.
In the main room of 50 covers, there are works of art by Pierre Camille-Roy and large bay windows overlooking a garden, recreating a contemporary atmosphere in harmony with the gardens. Upstairs, the two private lounges immerse you in the world of a Parisian apartment, ideal for confidential lunches and intimate dinners “like at home”.
In fine weather, the terrace is transformed to welcome guests for lunch and dinner in the heart of the garden. On selected nights in the summer, it thrills to the sounds of Jazz Thursdays, where gypsy jazz aficionados enjoy great music and food.
For the cuisine, Chef Philip Chronopoulos focuses on the authentic and makes the ingredients the centre of attention. Working with flavours, textures and aromas, he offers precise cuisine filled with emotion that replicates all the beauty of nature on your plate. Taking inspiration from the seasons, he creates an interplay of texture and colours, without ever sacrificing taste or indulgence.
