THE FOREIGN LANGUAGE LEARNING AND ITS IMPACT IN THE SOCIAL AND PROFESSIONAL LIFE DEVELOPMENT

Most students from Huelva city, don’t have a good command of foreign languages. Despite having studied these languages (mainly English) throughout primary and secondary education, they finish their studies without skills to communicate fluently in a foreign language.
THE AIM
Our survey’s goal is to know our students’ opinion about how important the learning of other languages is and its outcome in their social and professional life.
*TECHNICAL REPORT
- Sources of information used: questionnaires.
- The target population: junior high school, senior high school or vocational training cycles. Amount of students: 7814.
- Number of school: 15.
- Sample: 370 students.
* Confidence level: 95%
* Margin of sampling error: 5%
THE METHOD
*What language do you study as first foreign language?
*What language do you consider the most important one at the international level?
* How important is for you the Knowledge of a foreing language?
* What is your level in the foreign language?
*Do you need private tuition in order to improve or rise your
knowledge in the foreign language?
*Will you be able to communicate in other languages when you
finish your high school studies?
*Spain has a low level performance in foreign
languages. Do you think this is due to the teaching-learning method used in our country?
* In your experience, the teaching of a foreign
language has been:
*What areas can be improved for a better language
learning?
*In the teaching methodology used in the
class, what can be improved?
*Do you have enough motivation or are you eager enough to
learn new languages?
* What do you think it is the best way to learn a language?
*Are you interested in travelling abroad in order to
learn the language?
*If travelling abroad to learn a language, you
would like to:
* How long would you like to stay in the foreign country?
*Do you think that knowing other languages may open new doors to develop any
