Collection of 11 letters (9 ALs, 1 AL, 1 TLs), 1975-1979, written to Michael Roloff, who published five collections of Shepard's plays, and one photocopy ALS to Cathy Itzin.

These are mostly friendly, even when Shepard is finding fault. He discusses publishing, particular scripts of his and the need to revise them before publication, though the high 'energies' and demanding schedule of shooting a film now preclude such revision or even the thought of other work. He discusses Peter Handke and his desire to meet him in a particular pool hall on 14th Street, if Roloff can arrange it. He praises the format of ANGEL CITY; complains about Urizen Publishing's narrow distribution ("I'm a Western writer and it seems ludicrous that [my books] aren't available in this part of the country.") He speaks of his need to keep his life 'private life' fully private.
