    Interludes

Themes and Symbolic action: Every place is sacred. In the climax asheriff is strapped to a tree. He has Marion as defender and Robin asrighteous enemy. Robin and Fox take the path of mystics when they

could have taken the path of violence. Even in love, when passion is atits height, our goal shines through, the return of the sacred to the heartof the forest spreading to the town.

The earth, the wind, the water, the fire, return, return, return!

Note: The Interludes in Robin and the Ecomystics can change in anyproduction of the play. When collaborating with artists, their ideas andpreferences will alter the content of the Interludes. As written, theInterludes are performed by the cast of the play. Dancers, players, puppeteers, and musicians could be added to these Interludes. I am

currently seeking musicians/composers to create and finalize the musicfor the play. Musical genre: Mystic-Gypsy-Folk-Punk

Interlude #1The Forest. Early morning. Shining gold-vermillion shafts of sunlightstrike the stage and audience through the trees. Bird song begins, treesstir and whisper, ROBIN appears. Standing bangerang style andlistening, he lifts his horn to his lips and blows a call to the sun. Shapesrun by in the shadows almost invisible. The puppets of Oak, Moth, Fox,Robin interact. MOTH flits up to ROBIN. FOX stops across stage fromROBIN. The sun rises.

    Interlude #2Guinevere dressed in white walks toward the front of the stage fromsomewhere in the trees first appearing as a white ghost.     And, like a love-sick lueanshee,She hath my heart enthrall;

Nor life I owe, nor liberty, For Love is lord of all.

And like a love - sick lenansheeShe hath my heart in thrall

No life have I, no libertyWith love is lord of all

And sometimes when the beetles hornHath lulled the eve to sleepI steal unto her shieling low

And through her dooreen peepThere on the cricket's singing stone

She stirs the bog wood fireAnd hums in soft sweet undertones

Her welcome like her love for meIs from her heart within

Her warm kiss is felicityThat knows no taint of sin

Act IIInterlude #6Music. Moth sits in the center of the stage playing the flute. Peter standswatching behind her. Both are mesmerized listening to forest sounds of

late afternoon and the coming hues of sunset. A gentle wind sweepsfloating seeds down around Moth. Puppets, dancers, musicians andplayers can interact with the actors.

Interlude #7They move wood to the fire. If this is an outside event there shouldreally be a fire. If it is indoors, the fire will be an effect that has coloredsmoke and sparks as well as projection/visual effects. Possibly heatcould also be used. If this is an indoor production, consider having a fireoutside as the patrons exit or even move the audience to an outside

location after the act break. The gathering of the wood can also bedanced, played and juggled.

Interlude #8Back in the forest. The players, dancers, and musicians have anentrance parade.

Living waterOur source of lifeGrow the forestOut from its edgeSpill it over into the countryside

Run a forest through every cityRun a forest along every streamAll the humans think togetherSucceeding in their dream.

Curtain. Musicians, dancers, players, cast and audience sing, move andplay.Who wants the river of my tears? It is a beautiful river. Perhaps Im theonly one who thinks so. I say to myself, dont feed your pain body, feedyour higher self and that helpsWill I be lonely until I leave this body? Let me evaporate and fall on a

mountain again and have a rapid run to the flats. I just need a manunder me for my tears to fall on.Oh mother Isis, remake me in your image that I might gather the piecesof all the men that I love and make them into that god of a man I craveWith green underfootWith tree overheadWith emotion of love and laughter in his expressionWith a deepening understanding of the game we are inWith thunder to shake the boardWith wisdom to remake the worldWith joy for growing a child

And would maybe love me?Why so?Why so?Why so?For I have green underfoot and tree overhead. I have the emotion oflove and laughter in my expression and develop deep understanding ofthis game we are in. My thunder shakes the board. My wisdom makesmy world. With joy I grow my children. And I would love him. And so.And so. And so.Have you met so-n-so?

Or something like that more or less and less is more..

And then commence with the obligatory tree dance. Dance with theaudience. The Band of Players jam on, perhaps a full set of gypsy folkpunk.
