(1ST QUARTER) APRIL2017-JUNE2017: NIL

(2nd Quarter) JULY 2017-SEPTEMBER 2017:

1.THE IE(I) STUDENTS’ CHAPTER

The IE(I) Students’ Chapter were formally inaugurated on Thursday, 13 July 2017 by

chief guests Er.R.Selvaraj, ME, FIE., Chairman, The Institution of Engineers(India) & Deputy

General Manager / BHEL and Er.S.Lakshmanan MIE ,Honorary Secretary, IE(I) _TLC Senior

Engineer/Electrical Civil.

2. “SHORT TERM COURSE ON REALIZATION OF INTERNET OF THINGS USING

RASPBERRY PI- on 10th to12th AUGUST-2017” ATTENDED BY ALL DEPARTMENT

STUDENTS OF VARIOUS COLLEGES

Short term course on “Realization of Internet of Things Using Raspberry Pi” was

conducted on 10th to 12th AUGUST-2017 at M.A.M. College of Engineering & Technology

organized by Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in association with Pan tech

Pro Ed Pvt. Ltd., and the Institution of Engineers (India) Student Chapter 621105/MCET/EEE.

Around 70 students from various colleges have participated the programme.

3. INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO ISRO:

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, M.A.M College of Engineering

and technology organized industrial visit for third year B.E-EEE and final year B.E-EEE students

on 16-08-2017.

Students had a chance to visit the space museum at VSSC, ISRO. The rocket launching

center at Trivandrum. In overall visit, the students first went to ISRO satellite model gallery,

There our students saw various models of rocket like SLV-3, ASLV, PSLV,GSLV after

completing the rocket section, visited the models of various satellites that has been launched by

ISRO for various applications. They also explained the technical involvements and application of

satellites. Students had a wonderful chance to see rocket launch in ISRO Trivandrum.

4. ONE DAY WORKSHOP ON PCB DESIGN

The III year students who were the resource persons explained the links of all devices that

are used in the circuit and made them to design and execute the basic electronics circuits with the

help of required elements like PCB board, transistors, diodes, resistors inductors capacitors,

sensors, alarms, etc.

5.50th ENGINEER’S DAY CELEBRATION COMPETITIONS @ MAMCET

Theme: “Role of Engineers in a Developing India”

The Department of EEE in association with the Institute of Engineers (India) Student

Chapter 621105/MCET/EE conducted various competitions such as ESSAY WRITING,

ELOCUTION and QUIZ for the student members of IE(I). The competitions were conducted by

Mrs. V. Bhuvana, AP/EEE on 06.09.2017 in the department of EEE.

The topic “ROLE OF ENGINEERS IN A DEVELOPING INDIA” was given on the spot for

essay writing and elocution competition. Around 15 students participated in the competitions.

About 45 minutes were given for Essay Writing and 5 minutes for Elocution.

The quiz competition had 3 rounds and it was conducted for the students as teams (2 in a

team). In the first round, each team had 5 questions and in the second round they had 5 questions.

The last round was visual round and each team was given 3 visuals. Finally the winners of all

competitions were selected.

6.TECHNICAL DEMONSTRATION

One Day technical demonstration on innovative Electronics was conducted on 8.9.17.

7.GET TOGETHER.

The Institute of Engineers(India), Trichy local center celebrated 50th Engineers Day at

BHEL,Trichy.The following students from EEE attended the celebration along with our faculties,

Aptitude and ability tests are conducted to our students to assess their logical reasoning

and thinking performance.

(3rd Quarter) OCTOBER 2017-DECEMBER 2017:

1. NATIONAL LEVEL TECHNICAL SYMPOSIUM

A one day National Level Technical Symposium was organized by the Department of

Electrical & Electronics Engineering, M.A.M. College of Engineering &Technology on 6.10.17

2. SHORT TERM COURSE ON“MATLAB FOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

APPLICATIONS”

The department of EEE has conducted short term course on “MATLAB FOR

ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING APPLICATIONS” for III year students on 13/11/2017 &

17.11.2017 during vacation. The workshop was started by 9.00 AM at IT LAB on 13/11/2017.

Prof. S. Rajasekaran, Head/EEE gave an introduction on the benefits of repeated practice in

hands-on training. The Electrical and electronic engineering requires a deep knowledge in all

areas from mathematics to circuitry.

Group Discussion was conducted for the final year students to equip themselves for active

participation during campus interview on 11.12.17

5. MOCK TEST

Mock test was conducted for our students on 23.12.17

6.APTITUDE TEST

Aptitute test was conducted for final year students on 28.12.17

7. TECHNICAL VISIT TO SOLAR POWER PLANT@MUSIRI

43 students from III year EEE and 03 faculty from department of EEE were visited the plant

on 29.12.2017. Wilspun Renewables (Noida) has signed a power purchase agreement with the

Tamilnadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) for setting up a 100MW

solar project in the state. It was located near Musiri.

(4th Quarter) JANUARY 2018-MARCH 2018:

Short term course on CADD was conducted for final year students of EEE Department by

Mr.Gopinath,AP/EEE for 5days from 22.01.18 to 27.01.18

2. IE(I) GUEST LECTURE at Tiruchirapalli local centre:

The following Students from Department of EEE Attended a guest lecture on

“AUTOMATION IN AGRICULTURE ENGINEERING” at the Institution of Engineers

(INDIA), Tiruchirapalli local centre on 28 Feb, 2018.

Mrs.Leema Peter,Anna University,BIT campus,Trichy.

Tiruchirappalli Local Centre & Student’s Chapter (621105/MCET/EE) in association with

Tamilnadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) & Energy Efficiency

Services Limited (EESL) organize A Mega Technical Project Expo’18 on “Energy Conservation”

at 9:00 AM on 25th March 2018 at St.Joseph’s College , Community Hall, Trichy.
