May I urge upon all my

members to cooperate and

help us to stand up to the

great expectations of the

fraternity as a whole and

also ensure their grievances

be redressed ensuring happy

and contended professionals

throughout our Eastern

Region. We have to conceptualize an agenda which would introspect into

the problem areas of the members and their expectations and perspective as

a whole and see than they are resolved in minimum time. This agenda should

not confine within our Eastern India Regional Council but also should grow

out of proportion to serve in a greater perspective, i.e., to the profession as

whole throughout the country.

When the country is on a high growth path, a brilliant profession like ours is

expected to be geared, to take care of the existing as well as the emerging

issues. On these lines, the thrust this year would be on “Research”. EIRC

in this aspect has brought out various Referencer on topics of various

professional matters. This effort has received all round appreciation from all

sects of our professional brethren. I request upon all my esteemed members

and would welcome them to forward their suggestions in this regard with

respect to varied topics of national and professional interest and be part of the

quest for knowledge. Let success become a habit with us and hitting the top

and getting the best of life, our life style. Let share knowledge because knowledge when rubbed with knowledge, gives knowledge.

Another important aspect, which is the buzz word of today’s world. Good

financial governance is the most essential requirement for attaining high

performance in any organisation. Organizational or corporate governance

can be described by following four components: Financial Governance,

Organizational values, Strategy and Quality parameters. The scope of

Financial Governance can be expanded to include: Financial planning,

financial reporting and monitoring and Organizational Financial Awareness

and involvement. All financial processes are to be managed accordingly to a

stringent set of rules and regulations and are the core of financial governance.

Each regulation defines significant, stricter personal responsibility of the

organisations executive management and internal controls for the accuracy

of reported financial statements. The financial processes should be backed

by accurate reporting capabilities. Financial governance involves internal

controls to work toward compliance.

Green Initiative

In continuation of an endeavour of EIRC towards protection of environment

and Green Initiative, we have decided to reduce the number of pages of our

monthly publication from this issue which not only have met our captioned

initiative but also will curtail our expenditure to a great extent. In this regard

and also as requested earlier in my communication, may I again seek your

support towards this endeavour. We request your consent to migrate to

E-format means instead of the printed copy and posting it to your address,

it would be delivered in your inbox. Your affirmation in this respect would

go a long way in support of our ‘Green Initiative’. EIRC is also on its way

to present before you an updated, revamped EIRC Website, www.eirc-icai.

org. We would expect from all my members to put in their suggestions and

inputs which would go a long way in exercising a prudent approach towards

this effort.

Receding green space of the earth is a serious issue and as a part of the responsible community, we seek your support to address this concern.

The Board of Studies of the ICAI has been providing Online Articles Placement facility for selection of Articled Assistants by CA Firms through its Articles Placement Portal on pan India basis. It provides a platform to the firms of Chartered Accountants having vacancies for Articled Assistants to shortlist eligible students for selection of articled assistants, and call them for Interview at their offices, as per date and time convenient to them. The eligible candidates who have passed Group-I or both Groups of the Intermediate (Integrated Professional Competence) Course or have been admitted under the Direct Entry Scheme and are willing to join articled training can register themselves on the portal. The services to the Online Placement Portal are available free of charge for both CA Firms and students and they can register themselves online through the Portal at http://bosapp.icai.org.

The services on the Portal would be available for two months, twice a year, from the date of registration by the firms. Similarly the bio data of a student will also be available on the portal for a maximum period of 2 months from student’s registration. The candidates shortlisted by CA Firms would be informed by e-mails through the Portal, to appear for interview at their respective Offices, at the designated date and time.
