Highlights in July... A BIG THANK YOU to Louise Johnson and Yvonne Gragg for 22 years of volunteer service to Rehobeth through their handling of the Informant bulk mailings. They have worked folding, sealing, sorting and delivering thousands of our church newsletters to the bulk mail facility in High Point. They have turned over the reins to Susan Farkas and Kathy Adams beginning this month. Susan and Kathy have been helping for a few months learning from the best! I for one must say Louise

and Yvonne’s help has been immeas-urable to me here in the office. I will miss them but welcome Susan and Kathy. And I’m sure we will still see Louise and Yvonne around the church doing many of the other tasks they love to do! God bless them both! ~ Marybeth Gentry ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Be sure to come to the annual Ice Cream Social on Tuesday, July 4, at 3:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. If you have a freezer to be cranked, we will have ice and salt. If you would like to bring some goodies to go along with ice cream, that would be great. Let's see how many freezers and flavors we can have as we celebrate our nation's independence with food and fellow-ship. See you on the 4th! ~ Nancy Short

On Sunday, July 9, Rev. Ralph Eanes will be our guest preacher at both services and an Adult Building Team Lunch will follow in the FLC after the 11:00am service. The menu will be baked potato bar and salad bar. On Sunday, July 16, our new minister, Rev. Rick Marson will preach his first sermon at RUMC. A covered dish lunch will follow 2nd service so we can welcome Rick and his wife, Linda. Come and meet Rick and bring your favorite meal to share!

Coming in August…

Vacation Bible School is around the corner! This year’s theme is “Hero Central: Discover Your Strength in God”. The dates for VBS are August 6 through August 10 from 5:30 to 8:00pm nightly. All children ages 4 years old through 5th grade are invited to join the fun! Invite your neighbors, too. We will have a free snack supper before the activities begin. There will be music, crafts, fun lessons and more! Adults, we also need plenty of volunteer helpers for VBS. So register your children and yourself right away on our website: www.rehobeth.org And please let me know where you would like to help. ~ Anne Conover

Notes of Thanks… Dear Church Family, Jean and I want to thank you for all of your kind deeds while I have been out of commission. Thank you for food, phone calls, visits and most importantly your prayers. We are so fortunate to have such a loving and caring church family. I can’t imagine how it would be without you. I believe the source of my pain has finally been identified and plans are being made for treatment that I hope will be successful and I will soon be able to rejoin you. I apologize for my tardiness in thanking you. For quite a while there I was unable to do anything or concentrate. Please keep me in your prayers. Annual Conference News… On Sunday, June 25, Bishop Paul Leeland fixed the appoint-ments for the churches in the Western North Carolina UMC Conference. Rev. Rick Marson and Rev. Dr. Anne Conover have been appointed to Rehobeth for the 2017-2018 confer-ence year. Rev.
